  • great southern rock... music with a soul. not the crap they serve us nowdays. greetings to all from south of Croatia :)

  • I grew up 30 miles from these boys. Senior year was 1975 right when they were kicking ass and doing great Southern rock. To go back would be a dream come true. But at least I have thousands of memories from the 70's that nobody can take away.

  • One of the best ever. NO Doubt.

    Bean in Berdo

  • my dad showed me this song when i was a kid....oh man loved it ever since....

  • One of my most favorite melodies.

  • doubt my parents would let a 9-yr old see any concert; I did see U2 there in '87, I think.

  • My friends and I grew up as long-haired country boys. There was hardly anything we wouldn't do or try. We lived on the wind-swept Colorado plains with miles of cow pasture in every direction. Our favorite thing to do was throw the fishing poles and a cooler of beer in the back of the truck and head for the high country. This song takes me back to those days of rolling across South Park with the Continental Divide stretched across the windshield. Everything was possible. The world was new.

  • I was in a band in the early-80's that played this song. We had a steel player, fiddle player and lead guitar player, so we had this one down...complete with the harmony vocals. It was one of the best songs in our repetoire, and I miss playing it a lot.

  • @skeeternash Must have been a fun band to play in. ;-)

  • Boaterbear, I do believe I might have been sittin in that same parking lot listenin to KSHE ... lol. Great song, great band, great music, and great times.

  • I was sitting in a parking lot outside a tire shop in St.Louis back in 1976. When this thunderstorm came blasting through -one of those mid summer ones that rip and roar for about ten minutes. Well I sat there waiting for this thing to blow bye. Just as the storm ended a huge rainbow formed and right at that moment this song came on the radio(KSHE 95). It was one of those AH-HA moments when you just knew that all was right with the world. True story!!!

  • Cool!

  • @vradul Wow!!!!! Very cool. Sends chills all over my body!

  • yes exceptional history !

  • Amen to that!

  • @uboaterbear I might have been there that day in the passing, my friend! 1976 was some good times in StL and with KSHE 95!

  • @uboaterbear i remember that storm so does john "u" man Eulid :) KSHE ROCKS

  • Dickey Betts on the guitar solo! What great teenage years, Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Atlanta Rhythm Section (Alien) and the Allman Brothers Band. Camping out with girls, beer and campfires. What great more simple years!

  • great tune and I gotta tell ya, that solo sure sounds like Dickey's playin' it..

  • @axeman1958 that' because he is playin lol good song tho

  • ... i wish i was a teen when this came out...the world my dad tells me about better than this day and age, everything about it, the people, the music..... *sigh* :(

  • Your Dad is right! I was 16 years old when this song came out. Before microwaves, VCRs, DVDs, CDs, cell phones, satellite TV, Playstation, Nintendo, X-Box, even before home computers! Life was Good!

  • a few beers , camp fire and good friends when i was 16 nothing better

  • WOW! Heard this while driving home the other night!!! Turned it up!! Ah, those good days......sigh...

  • This Marshall like that Marshall listening to them will take back to good days!!

  • What a terrific, underrated band from the 70's. Saw them once or twice in my youth. MTB always had a lyrical, joyful sound that was unusual for a "rock" band. With the obvious notable exception of "Can't You See", the listener usually comes away from a Marshall Tucker Band song feeling happy and uplifted. This is a particularly lovely song and brings back many fond memories. Good stuff from an apprently good bunch of guys!

  • @sjplwc I'm from Spartanburg and had the pleasure of growing up with these guys and they were (still are, the ones that are left) a great bunch of good old boys. Toy was a bit of a hell raiser but never the kind you wouldn't have liked to be around.

  • @AirTractor24 Thanks for the memory. The Dunkin' Donuts I frequent up here in NH plays a great "Classic Rock" station - and, unsurprisingly, Tucker makes an occasional appearance. "Can't You See" turned up the other day, and one of the kids who works there, who knows quite a bit about 70's music, admitted he liked the song but couldn't have told me who performed it. Made me feel a little sad. As I mentioned in my original post, "a terrific [but] underrated band".

  • @sjplwc was it a chinamen? they dont know nothing bout southern rock

  • This is my tattoo, a rainbow and a pot of gold and this is why...

  • great band :D love them!

  • this is a great song. Thanks for the post!

  • Sweet Sweet memories....Great Album
