IF you think about it in that way then all the arcs in One Piece are pointless y didn't luffy focused on his goal rather than his friends He didn't have to go save Nami or Robin just find other member y go to different island and solve their problems y not just set the log and find One piece that's the main story right. BECAUSE ONE PIECE IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY AND THE ADVENTURES and Skypiea was another adventure Its just as simple as that it was to grow the bond between characters to have an adv.

After the last chapters in the manga, Skypiea doesn't seem pointless, Poseidon was presented, the Will of D., Haki, the void Century, the "Hearing of the voices of the Universe" the connection Roger-Luffy, how the Poneglyphs work, and the desire of Robin to keep looking for them.

Skypiea will be referenced again because the main villain, Enel got away and the straw hat crew doesn't know. I guarantee he will return in the New World 10 times stronger than before. And then everybody will look back at the Skypiea arc differently.

skypiea is one of my favorite arcs, the whole sky world was interesting and drew me in, and the battles with the priests and enel/eneru was badass. it had the most adventure feel to it, rather then go to an island, beat up a bad guy like every other arc. how was Skypiea boring to any of you, the atmosphere, the exploration, the fights, and the villain in general was amazing. Water 7/Ennies Lobby was good but it was way too slow and barely had any action untill the end. Skypie was straightforward

yeah skypiea is one of the the best arcs because it questioned a topic... the way the angels and tribe societies deemed the unknown god and the mysterious island, to say it likey how can you follow or praise a god without having full knowledge of what your are to appease... faith without knowledge is only belief

Skypedia was too long and boring. It's definately the worst arc in the entire series so far. It could have been cut it heavily especially the stupid stuff with the priests.

I suppose it introduced us to logia types as well as show another poneygraph. It also started to introduce the limitations of the Going Merry. Also the Strawhats's finally get some real gold!!!!

Skypiea was relevant. The most useless arc was the Davy Back arc but that was only for the anime lol. The Davy Back arc in the manga was like 2 chapters. But in itself, it introduced the beam DF.

Besides, Skypiea was comedy gold. Good shit there lol.

They've been up in the sky, and now they are down deep into the sea. Skypiea had villains who posessed Haki, and so Haki was introduced, though it was called Mantra by the skypieans.

actually in the shonen rankings ...the skypeia arc was the low point of one piece......with oda and his unpatriotic comments about the world cup.....and defending his manga friend for a crime....it was the low point of one piece..but still it was good filler for me..

i see what ur saying, i completely forgot about the gold and the dials were important in terms of Usopp. I really didnt care for Chopper's bit of character development.

Idk. to me seems that Skypiea was kinda of a let down in my opinion, but then again this arc kinda of seemed like it was pretty much used for stalling so Oda could figure out what to do next.

lol no, The Davy Back fight was the most pointless Arc. You can literally skip the whole thing if you watch the anime because they don't even meet Aokiji, until they leave the island they had the Davy back fight, on.

Afro Luffy was still beast though.
