@griffinmaster99 to get these maps u have to buy them, thats what i did like 3 years ago. only like 5/9 maps were availble on xbox live but microsoft closed down the servers in april 2009. all u can do now is to buy it and have un wid yur friends thats what i do. the maps are really great! and fun it is deefinatly worth it!
@griffinmaster99 u buy them at places where they sell old games still like gamestop or ebgames. the maps are great when u have 4 players and the graphics arae amazing
@NeedMoreSpeed00 OMG! when I read that, I was ROFLMFAO! Xbox 260, your such a comedian, sorry to say, but its not called Xbox 260, its just called Xbox, not Xbox 180, 230, or 90, just XBOX, ok, got it through your head now?
@UnknownDude007 I still play Halo Classic. I heard Halo 2 Vista has terrible server issues, though. A lot of people say servers just drop connections out of nowhere, thus causing people to not want to play it anymore.
@UnknownDude007 I kind of had to decipher what you said, so if my response doesn't answer your question, feel free to let me know.
Anyway, I'm not sure if Halo 2 Vista is still supported online. I haven't played it for a long time, so I couldn't possibly tell you. All I can really say is: I wouldn't waste your time with it. Reach comes out in 4 days, so just get that instead. :P
@Faelian6t5 No, typical Microsoft bullshit. ODST was intended to be a 2 hour campaign DLC for Halo 3. Then Microsoft said hey, Bungie, we want a full game so do more. They tripled the campaign's original intended length AND added Firefight. The Halo 3 disc was a bonus, not a reason to charge more for it. I think Bungie did fairly well considering they had only a very small team, an old engine, and less than a year to make it.
i got the game for free from my friend and its awesome didnt even know about it for a while and am glad i got it for a steal........i dont have xbox live
So halo 2 was online maps an co op an campain....and the halo 2 map pack disc was just an add on with new online maps kinda like ODST?????????????? Just wandering plz help
okay they do give you enough content to call it a full game, but a small team working one year is not on the same level as the other halo games. its the truth
@halo3star0wnag Expansions by definition require the original game to play. ODST does not require Halo 3 to play. It has a campaign mode, a co-op survival mode, a seperate multiplayer disc with every single map ever made for Halo 3, AND access to the Halo Reach beta. I think that is enough to make it a full game.
ODST has a thrown together shitty campain, Co-op was great but every single map made for halo 3? OH SHIT Thats great if you never bought any but a majority of Halo fans already purchased the maps, ODST was going to be a expansion but Microsoft got greedy and put together a half assed thing
@bgibson36 ODST was mean't to be an expansion, but even expansions can be standalone expansions- expansions without a demand of the original- and thats what ODST ended up being
@CessiCB Then I suppose that's what Anniversary is for Reach, is it?
No. Full game. Gamers today are just arrogant and spoiled and expect a full competetive multiplayer mode or a 500 hour story mode, or they won't call anything a game. I agree that ODST was overpriced, but it was not an "expansion pack."
It started out as an expansion pack (still is), but Microsoft decided to up the price to that of a full game (becuase they're greedy pricks). A three hour campaign, and maps that most people already had is not a full game. It's an expansion pack, with the multiplayer of Halo 3 thrown in to try to justify the full price tag.
@CessiCB Yes, I'm aware that it started out as DLC, and Microsoft forced Bungie to make it a full game. The campaign is 6 hours long, if you run through it, 7-8 if you don't. And it introduced Firefight, which is still more fun than the version in Reach. The campaign was also better than Reach. And what would you have done with ODST to make it a "full game" in your eyes? With the extremely small team,10 month timeframe, and limited budget Bungie had for it?
I wouldn't have done anything to make it a full game. I would have admitted to it being an expansion pack, regardless of the price. The campaign is great, I never said it wasn't. But as for firefight, I'd rather play Reach's. Reach offers a ton of different options to customise the game to how I'd like to play.
@CessiCB I do like Reach's Firefight, I just think it's too easy. You can totally rambo it if you want to. There's no emphasis on teamwork, nor are power weapons essential for winning. In ODST, you had to work together to survive. Get those rockets for the chieftans, watch the fuel rod grunts, grab that laser and kill the wraith. Reach is like SPAM GRENADES AND KILL EVERYTHING WITH UNLIMITED SWORDS AND SNIPERS. Plus, because there was no matchmaking, you were always playing with friends.
Ha now it is only like 5.00 dollars @ gamestop

weewoodeal 3 years ago 2
basicly the halo 2 map pack added a bunch of multiplayer maps to halo 2 you can use, i think there was like 8 or 9 maps
MrJjlee 2 years ago
ODST wast't an add on, it was a full game.
bgibson36 2 years ago 16
it was supposed to be an add on but microsoft kinda forced bungie into selling it full price as a standalone
exiledrabbit 2 years ago
Yes I know, it was intended to be DLC, but that was before they added Firefight. Look at what ODST has.
Campaign with massive open city.
Firefight.
Complete Halo 3 multiplayer disc with every map which is great for people with lo Xbox Live
Access to Halo: Reach beta, which starts May 3rd
I think that's enough to call it a full game.
bgibson36 2 years ago
@bgibson36
okay they do give you enough content to call it a full game, but a small team working one year is not on the same level as the other halo games. its the truth
