That is technically correct, if the only information the officers had was that the suspect was a human being then they need to profile as such. But if a witness gives additional information like the person is under 5 feet tall they shouldn't look for someone 6 foot, if they describe a female, then they shouldn't look for a male, those are all types of profiles, and the same goes for any race. If a witness describes a latino then you need to look for and pickup latinos for questioning. If a witness describes a white person then you need to pickup white people for questioning. That is technically correct, if the only information the officers had was that the suspect was a human being then they need to profile as such. But if a witness gives additional information like the person is under 5 feet tall they shouldn't look for someone 6 foot, if they describe a female, then they shouldn't look for a male, those are all types of profiles, and the same goes for any race. So how does that make me a failure at life?

In comparison to other professions police have some of the lowest educational requirements and police are generally known for being a little dim. I'm not trying to be rude, in the same way that Musicians are free spirits and Accountants are generally boring. Police are stupid. Why do you think they are prone to domestic violence? Even if we take your 82% as Gospel, my point is the remaining 18% of convictions still have minorities being the primary culprits. If the majority of crimes are actually committed by minorities, and thus are described as such by witnesses it is illogical to Not profile. If a witness describes a latino then you need to look for and pickup latinos for questioning. If a witness describes a white person then you need to pickup white people for questioning. I know there is still a level of racism going on, but not looking at the other side of the problem, which is the level of crime amongst minorities being the factor, is wrong.

My point is if witnesses describe the person as a certain color (any color) then it isn't profiling if the police refine their search to primarily look for suspects of that color. But minorities cry racism when it happens to be their ethnic group.
