ive been goin 2 Sandy's beach in the water body surfing since i was in 5th grade. im in 8th grade now and i go on the big days and the "old timers" and lifeguards never give me shit since im soo pro. hahah
I have been there on good and bad days. On some of the bigger days the Rip was so bad you had to paddle constantly against the rip just to stay in one place. plus that place is a fin graveyard lol if you go out take a look at the bottom I have lost a couple there.
Not everyone can just go there and Think they can go to sandy's and bodyboard. This is #1 for neck and back injuries. Its funny when I see a tourist get in and think its easy. Sandy's has a viscous beach break. Be careful
I guess, hearing from a kid who has not been to our Local spots in Hawaii likes talking shit. You know what I think, I think you would be in a hospital on the first try you get into Sandy's homeboy.
this is bodyboarding ur talking about.. bodyboarding is pretty much ppl charging big fat waves... so.... im pretty sure hitting some 5ft fat waves wont send me to hospital.. i go to local reefs in australia.. 6ft average and i always get smashed on the reef and i dont go to hospital.. i think u just need to toughen up buddy
I been to Australia. Sydney and Brisbane. Its not about being tough, I think you just need to come to Hawaii and try out Sandy's. I think you would probably go Hospital, Ozzie
Go there on a big day that shore break will break your neck 100%. I got pounded there on a small day. Locals with a lifetime of experience show respect to this break. Lifeguards won't even let you get close to getting your feet wet on a big day unless they KNOW you can handle it.
Hell yeah dude! I hear ya, I dont even go there when it is crazy, I buddy is really good and he went to the Hospital and almost broke his neck. But hey, Bellos Beach Baby is always a great spot to go to.
It's in Honolulu in the eastern end of Oahu. Check the map under "Statistics & Data." It's at the base of Koko Crater, and between Hanauma Bay and Makapuu Point. Aloha...
