Continuing on the stray cat problem, we need to stress microchipping more. Cats are identified with a unique number with owner information. Maybe advertising to people that local shelters may have their lost pets would work. Strays are often really depressed. They sit in their cages and cry and cry. All they want is their home. When we adopt out a cat, we stress that a cat isn't just a convenience. You're responsible for this animal for your whole life. It isn't just a home, it's forever
I volunteer for a TNR facility that adopts cats from a county shelter. I never understand why more strays aren't recovered by their owners--2%? Most cats don't go far from their homes, so if you lose a cat, why not check with your local shelter. This one keeps strays for a week and then prepares them for adoption (if the cat's lucky). Only thing I can figure is that people are so callused they just forget about their lost pet. Very sad.
And by the way: you cannot neither make they grow into humas nor make nanoaugmentations for your cat army, so that's why you cannot make their population smaller.
I was in my car and we pulled up to the restaurant where i worked and i saw a black and white cat next to my dumpster eating something. I felt SOOO bad.. I see many stray cats but this one just really spoke to me. I called him Panda. He comes almost everyday and my parents wont let me foster him.. :'( Feel sad.
The city of Monessen Pennsylvania has adopted an ordiance to kill all cats roaming, domestic, feral, unaltered or altered. Please support the Coalition of Monessen in helping to start a TNR program. City council and Mayor Smith refuse to have a discussion with national rescue groups. Mayor Smith has disabled her email due to the high amount of complaints. Please help!
@prettykitty0451 How can we help? I live in Canada and someone posted a message that the local pet store owner has a huge boa constrictor (now hidden in the basement) and when the puppies and kittens are too old to sell, he apparently feeds them to the boa live. We have all offered advice about what she can do legally and politically and she doesn't want to listen. I don't know if it is true or not but if I were there I'd tip off the local TV station to request a viewing of a feeding.

@prettykitty0451 These damn morons! It has been shown statistically that feral cat populations can be reduced far better through TNR than by killing them. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, but colonies of cats only get to a certain size. The returned neutered/spayed cats don't make new cats. Additional cats only come from strays which often can be distinguished from the feral ones and adopted. People in this country just want to shoot everything they don't like!
this video had me in tears. I recently moved to west texas and starting caring for a colony of feral cats, I particularly fell in love with one I called Mr. Spots. He was run over ( on purpose ) by some man in a pickup truck. I have never gotten over his death, and I feel so sad for all feral and dumped cats. I adopted his sister into my home soon after he died, she is an amazing friend. I wish we could do more to help the over population of cats on the streets.
some cat was at burger king and went inside the hood of my father truck and we drove it to my home with the cat in the bottom of the truck... when i got home i tried feeding it but it keeps hideing from me and its cold outside. im trying to bring it inside of my home where its warm but it keeps running from me im forced to feed it outside help what should i do?!?
The best thing we could do for ferals is to hire professional hunters to eliminate them quickly and painlessly with low-velocity small-caliber rifles.
lol the funny part is ive seen about 100 stray cats in my life (im 17) and ive taken them all in since i was 13 i had 37 cats and sold them all to a pet smart so they can have an owner! i feel so proud of myself!
i left out a few full food bowls out for these strays at night in the morning they were all empty im glad they ate AND I WILL RIP WHO EVER ABANDONS A CAT OR LETS IT RUN AWAY HEAD OFF
I took in a Stray Cat once, it was a nightmare. Mr. Setzer ate me out of house and home and kept me up all night. I ended up boxing him up and leaving him where I found him.
Strays may not live as long as house cats, but at least their free.
Cats have all the tools they need to survive in the wild, so this video is pretty over the top about finding all of them homes.
Humans are the ones fucking them over. Putting millions of them asleep cause no one came to the shelter to buy them. Idiots, just release the animal, no need to kill it you fucking nazis.
Please don't neuter your cats; what if one day, some wacky mad scientist tampers with the natural genes and kills off 1/3 of domestic felines; and they start to extinct!
While I love this video and the message you're trying to send, I have to disagree with one comment. You stated "most feral cats will become tame to some degree when given time, care and love" The sentiment is wonderful, however a truly feral cat (not a stray, a truly feral cat) is highly unlikely to become tame. I work in a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic and we routinely alter ferals, these are wild animals & even after years, very often never become 'tame'. But great video in general!
I support 30+ cats at my home in the country and some at my shop. I do my best with TNR and the Milton Project where I can. I'm inundated with more cats who are probably dropped out at my house. I've been known to neuter/spay cats of people who can't afford it, but I'm on a limited income. I can't even imagine having tubes tied and vasectomies performed to keep these guys sexual lives intact. That's insane
I don't have any stray cats or dogs where I live and my mom's friend had 3 cats and she was going to move in with her boyfriend and he hated cats so he only let her keep 2 so they were all purebred. So she gave us her best cat Lolita she's a Javanese. She was going to put her in a shelter so me and my mom and brother took her she was about 3 years and now she's 12 so we've had her for a long time. And she's right next to me :))) SAVE STRAYS!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for making this spectacular video. You made the points well. I've been rescuing for a short amount of time, and already we've seen "wild" and "feral" animals quickly adapt to a good life indoors. YES, they all pitch some level of fit, but after they trust you, it's all good from there. Bless you all!
All these videos make me cry! :'( dont let cats cie! Please! There like a member of our family! I love cats! Dnt leave a stray out in the cold weather! This video says it all!! Thank you!!
I pray for ALL ANIMALS to get awesome homes and awesome health and animals to get better ones. ABUSINGS OR DROPPING OFF A ANIMAL IS WRONG. ANIMALS HAVE FEELINGS TOO. They are probably saying why are you doing this to me i tried to be the best animal i could. I had a cute fat tuxedo cat that was abused abandoned and had bad stomach and kidney problems from her stupid owners. If i become rich someday i going to open up a shelter for all ANIMALS AND NO ANIMAL WILL NOT
That was the sadest thing i have seen in my whole life. I have a cat myself, but i still have my soft spot for stray cats. Seeing any animal suffering or without a home brings me to tears.
--This video was both sad and truthful, and hopefully it can open the eyes of many people who don't realize how tough life is for a poor abandoned animal.
of your own cute pet cat onto these wild animals, you might as well go TNR wild raccoons, foxes, possums for "their sake". To be honest I see no reason to completely remove feral cat populations unless they pose a threat to human health or a very fragile ecosystem. In that case there is vasectomy and hysterectomy to CONTROL the cat population, leaving their sex hormones intact as to prevent other ferals from moving in. Feral cats are wild, and thus should be treated like any other wild animal
TNR is just another form of eradicating feral cats, except that TNR is so-called "humane" while stressing the cats and suddenly removing their sex hormone supplies. Feral cats are wild, and for millenia, they have co-existed among human settlements like this, we only domesticated them to stay with us and because they looked cute. Unless a cat was previously owned and abandoned, there is no such thing as a homeless cat, the wild is their home. And if you are going to project your feelings...
for a weird reason all the stray cats around my place are dissapearing, but almost every stray cat that comes to my place end up living the rest of their life happy and well cared for
There is a stray cat on my road, it is thin and has fleas but I can't get close to it does anyone have any advise which will help me get it and hand it over to the RSPCA.
i am 19 years old now but when i retire i am seriously going to become a crazy cat lady! lol...i feed the stray cats when i come home from college and all of them are well tamed. you can tell they have been seperated from their owner. IF A STRAY CAT APPEARS AT YOUR HOUSE, PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO PRINT FLYERS, IT MIGHT JUST BE SOMEONE'S LOST BABY!
This is a really smart video. I just desexed a stray cat that we're feeding & it was quick & easy. I live in australia (western sydney) & i'm a student so i managed to get my fees covered by 'Animal Welfare League' & they just issued me a desexing voucher... I trapped the cat, delivered it to my local vet & returned it the same afternoon. It has to be done. The number is: 9631 6679
I hate it when people don't look after their cats. Last winter 1 of my neighbour's cat roamed into my property and triggered my bear trap. Damn trap chopped it in half :(
That's so sad!!! I LOVE cats & that's just heartbreaking!!!! All 6 cats that I have adopted over the years were from shelters & are the best cats anyone could have!!
Thank you for your care and compassion with these kitties and others you have saved. God bless you. Others, please follow the lead and spay and neuter your pets. Please TAG / identify / chip your pet!
I just saw a kitten today that the owner let outside with no identification whatsoever -- he may be chipped, I don't know -- but it made me angry because he had a flea collar on. He looked to be about 4 months old. My first kitten was feral, she showed up on our doorstep.
I have one cat now, I love her to death. She's fixed and will be microchipped eventually (she is an indoor cat, never sets foot outside unless in a carrier).
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! A calico cat just had 5 kittens in my back yard. It's really a shame that they had to live on the street. We've been taking care of them and we might have found them a home. I know what you mean by this video it's really sad to watch animals die on the streets when there is someone to love them THEY NEED HELP PEOPLE!!
This was really touching. I am so happy that I resuced my cats from the vet's office and the city animal shelter, both spayed! People think it's cute to let their cats go outdoors, and just let them come home pregnent! Then they give the kittens to some friends, but I find it sad!
ive got a cat basically me an my familiy have been lookin after the ginger cat for 7 months. for the first few months it went outside accidently wen it was a kitten. it got lost an we looked an found it next to a identical house like ours. this happened several times. while the gets lost i could hear her cries for the owners(us). our cat now dooesnt even want to go outside an wen it does it jus stays next to the door. basically we lookafter our cat like a human child.
them. Also, the best you can get them to speak, is a couple sentances, with nothing but one-syllable words. and even at that, the children are even cautious when approaching the person that takes care of them. they will never be like a regular human being, and the same goes for feral cats. Also, you keep saying "neutered," when it's actually "fixed", the way you're using it. neutered is only for males. fixed can be boys or girls. you could have also said "spayed or neutered."
You are totally right -- I just went with "neutered" 'cause it was shorter than saying "spayed/neutered" and also a lot of people don't even know what spayed means. LOL
scared. and, though it took a lot of work, slowly, and steadily became loving to all humans. now, this was a cat that you couldn't get withing 20 feet of, unless you had a bowl of food. then, you could get about 15 feet from it. yet, now she lives a happy life. she was EXTREMELY scared. not feral tho. feral cats will remain feral until the day they die. if you've ever seen a show about feral humans, the best you can get them, is being scared of everybody except the person that takes care of
Cats are so individual that you would never know if one is going to tame up or not. And they certainly surprise you. With my experience, I would say that 90% of the strays that are out there WILL become tame to a degree with the person or people who feed/care for it. The cat will run from anyone else who tried to get close to it. That's my experience anyway. Over time they come closer and closer and let you pet them even.
exactly the point i was trying to get across. 90% will tame up. these 90%, are the ones that are only EXTREMELY scared. the other 10% tho, are probably feral. i know what you mean when u say that they will tame up to the people they're around, because it's the same at the trailer park my family feeds. they love us, but run from others. but you're totally right. you know a LOT about cats!!!! =D
bringing it back to it's original ways. It will be feral forever, sadly enough. But, a cat that is not feral, but just EXTREMELY EXTREMELY scared, CAN, and hopefully WILL become friendly, or at least a TINY bit tame. You see, someone in my family had a feral cat once, and it ended up never even being touched. now, this family member is GREAT with animals. as good as you can get. but this cat was feral, and stayed that way forever. now, this same family member had another cat, that was EXTREMELY
It's nice to know that you care about animals... i feel exactly the same way. watch my trailer park cats video... and you'll hear about what my family and i are doing to help. but i would like to correct something in your video. at approximately 1:38 you said "most feral cats will become tame to some degree when given time, care and love." That is partially true, but at the same time, false. You see, there is a difference between feral, and EXTREMELY scared. Once a cat is feral, there is no
This video brought me to tears. Very well done. And very important message..Myself, I have two black cats (a Bombay and an American Shorthair) that I adopted from the local animal control shelters, and they are spayed, as required when adopting from the shelter. And they are MUCH calmer for it, too...
What a bunch of beautiful cats this breaks my heart to think that these cats could have had a loving home but at least they are being taken care of. Please people spay and neuter your pets!
my aunt had four cats. three of them were street cats. Two of them she adopted herself, the other, the only boy of the group found her. He took shelter in her grages for about a year in a hlaf, he came and went till one day he decided to stay. He is very friendly, but is not a lap cat like the other two.she was found in some bushes. The third, who died just two years ago due to illness was found in a dryer vent by a family who was moving out. They couldn't take her with them, so my aunt took her.
i have taken in 2 stray kittens when one of my neighbors showed me them when she started to raise them they were a brother and sister and they were found on the street one with a brken tail and i loved them ever since and theyre both doing well!
Please people, spay or neuter your pets. Some people think that a cat or dog should produce at least one litter before they are fixed. WRONG!!!!!THEY DO NOT NEED TO REPRODUCE. These poor animals are discarded like pieces of trash. If you have a cat and dog and can't take care of it, don't just throw it out with the dirty water. At least take it to your nearest humane society. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
The fact that only 2% of lost cats are able to return home saddens me deeply. You should always, ALWAYS I.D. your pets and, if possible, microchip them (cats are notorious for losing their collars). My cat that I've had since I was five got lost while we were moving and it was only by the grace of God, kind people like you, and his microchip I.D. that he was returned to us. Animals are our responsibility, thank you for doing your part.
It's funny how true this vid really is, when we adopted Sora/Archie back in August of 2006, he was only 5 weeks old. Usually you're not supposed to adopt kittens that young, but the little guy was found tied to a fence a week before.
We had him neutered as soon as he was of age to do so, and have kept him in since, he's become in my books, a loveable cat even though he's bad.
Everyone, I agree, the TNR tactic should be imposed. Neutering and Spaying your pet is the best thing you can do.
omfg i love animals. oh and i hope u die in hell motherfker an di hope someone kills u or abadans u were u have no shelter no food have relay on someone else and
Rather than using the word 'tame' when it comes to stray and feral cats, I think the term 'socialise' is more useful. I don't think any cat can ever be tamed but they can certainly be socialised.
All my indoor cats (11) were born in my backyard. The latest I brought in is a 5yr.old male who had a bloody foot. I called him and took him to the vet. He's fine and has taken to domesticity like a champ. Still have 2-3 ferals to TNR. Have 2 sheltered in the garage. It's a lot of money and work but I love my kitties!
i shelter, feed and medic eleven ex-stray-cats, in different houses, to avoid overpopulation... it seems nothing will teach people not to abandon living beings :(
my cat was a lost kitten. she's so lucky to be in our hands now. she was about 1 week old when we picked her up. and she's now a healthy 5year old. Thanks for the video, it really make me wanna take care of more cats like that.
Excellent video. It's unfortunate that our governments and society (in general) believes euthanasia to be an acceptable form of population control.
I am currently fostering two Momma cats and their babies, who are getting ready for adoption through a local rescue group. I can only hope that they find homes with kindred souls such as yourself. :)
I to hope more strays and ferals find good homes. I myself have a cat that was nurdsed by a mother not of her own. on the day off my cat's birth her mother and brothers and sissters were eaten by wild dogs. The night A person who knew found her and brought to my mom's plsce. The mother cat was allowing her kittens to nurse and she shes us bring in this other one. My cat quickly became the adopted daugthedr of the mother cat after we clean up my cat
I feel bad I can't get them both fixed now. Money is tight as I am caring for my own cats that I saved off of the same street. I hate it. I save 1 and 3 come to replace it! I do alot to tell people to spay their cats but they are not listening. Why are they so selfish? It is heartbreaking! How can I un-feral my newest addition? Keep up the human contact (cuddling, petting, talking to him, Etc.?)
Just keep up with the human contact. I firmly believe that most cats will tame up -- and the younger they are, the faster they will tame. But you never know with older cats, too. Like people, they're all different. Some just take longer. Keep up the great work! And, thanks so much for watching!
All of my cats are former strays. 1 feral kitten I saved when she was about 6 weeks old. Tom is FIV+ but the rest are young and very healthy (now). I care for a few strays that will never be comfy indoors. They need to be fixed (both tom's) By years end hopefully. It is 70$ to get them fixed/vaccinated. Great deal huh? I live in Ct.
Are your cats pictured in your great video? Did you fix them all? Bless you!! I JUST got a feral kitten in my home (Yesterday)He is very little (about 6-8 weeks) and is very scared of every little thing. He is getting used to me holding him and petting him. he uses a litter box. Got it on the first try! He is trying to cuddle with my other cats but they are slow in warming up to him. poor guy :( He was outside for a week before I got him. He got trapped in my hall. I got lucky.
ahhhh that is sooooo sad me and my grandma get cats from the cats protection agency and sell them on from there to different people that were gonna buy a kitten from the pet shop or sumote
I feed the strays around my house then once i get em used to walking into a open carrier i get a cat trap and set food in it, then give em to non-kill rescue groups.
You sound like a total wimp LCisQueer. Why don't you put your gun in your ear and pull the trigger? You stupid fuck. Go outside and get beat up now...wimp.
Very interesting video. Is awesome what you do, to rescue all those cats. :) when I was a kid I had like 5-6 cats in my house, and all of them were stray cats, its very nice to help them and give them a place to stay, instead of them dying somewhere on the strets :(.
Don't know why but everytime I see a stray I got this urge to take out my air rifle and shoot them.Does not matter if its dog, cat or any other animal.
This comment highlights the fact that people comment without any thought. Take a look at my videos and you'll find out that I am a girl. "It is better to remain silent and be perceived as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
Glad someone have the same reacton as me, for a min I thought I am sick in the head. My mom keep nagging at me saying why am I so cruel and my sis just shakes her head.
Shooting an animal is not an efficient means of population control -- it's not only cruel but also illegal in some states in the U.S. Air rifles will only wound an animal, they don't kill. Stray cat populations will be controlled only when have their cats neutered.
whats the matter ualuuanie..too stupid to learn how to load a real gun? Or maybe your job as a washroom attendant doesn't pay you enough to get a real gun. Don't worry kid...you'll probably get even dumber. Then you can apply to the government for assistance. Tell them you're a retard...I'll bet they believe you.
Tried with a shotgun and a semi auto b4 all they do is blow those damn starys into bits no enjoyment in it. Kind of like to see them jump around in shock :)
ualuuanie--you should seek professional help. I don't know how old you are, but you need to control your obsession with killing innocent creatures. Otherwise, you're going to end up in jail as a serial killer. Maybe enroll in the military to get it out of your system.
God.....watching this makes me want to run into the other room, pick up my kitties and hug them for all they're worth..,..that especially goes for the little feral I found four weeks ago behind my building. She was just 3 weeks old, cold hungry and very much alone, so taking her in was an absolute no-brainer. Needless to say, she is adored by every member of the household.
its true they catch them and often kill them its a dam shame. you should check out WaterShed/Stray Cats And Dogs/by SADCOW66 its very sad and moving but shows these animals do have feelings too..thankyou
The video touched me. The next cat I'll have will be from an animal shelter. So many animals need homes.I believe all owners should neuter their pets.
Look, I consider myself a cat lover but I really don't think the fact that shelter cats are euthanised is the greatest tragedy here. The greatest tragedy is that so many are homeless. The fact is that domestic cats are contributing to a decline in the American songbird population. The fact also is that shelters don't have the resources to keep cats alive. If nobody's adopting them then being put to sleep is kinder. Thank you for your work, however. It is important.
This video Reminds me of My Cat Flopper WE found her in a ally in a dumpster Almost dead We rushed her to a vet and she servivded. I miss her much now She died two years ago. RIP Flopper
Second -- You are missing the entire point of the video -- which is to have ALL cats -- owned and unowned -- free or in a house -- altered so they don't reproduce out of control.
There is a serious cat overpopulation problem. Just visit your local animal shelter and see for yourself -- and ask what they do with the cats (and dogs) they don't have room for? I'll tell you: THEY KILL THEM!
where I live, south Florida, there's an overpopulation of rats, we need more stray cats, I almost never see one, and when I see one, I get so happy..They are doing what they are supposed to be doing..and they shouldn't be killed, that's wrong
Whoever posted this video is a fucking idiot, stray cats are happy, happier than being imprisoned in someone's house! They can very well survive in the wild and enjoy their freedom! This is by far the stupidest video in youtube!
yeah. im 12 and this touched me. i tought that this is great even though i love wild cats. i read Warriors and i think this happened to them. but they learned to survive. so, ItalianWarrior777, u r the idiot. cats may want freedom but they want food and shelter. that is y they suffer. even if they can find food, they can still suffer.
The stray cats and kittens who were once free and happy are being trapped by animal control agencies and brought to overcrowded animal shelters. And take a wild guess what's happening to them.
These once free, happy cats and kittens are being gassed or given a needle so that they do not exist anymore. American animal shelters murder 10 million dogs and cats a year.
-CRIES- POOR KITTIES, makes me wanna pet the 5 cats in my house (2 adopted) muffle, sybile, lil-fatty, chase, boo-boo(ran away)((found her in 1 week)) because of that video, i am gonna give them tuna ^ ^, also, this movie makes me wanna adopt a kitten. . . . thats awesome, ur like al-gore but not stupid and boring
Very simple, heart warming, and powerful video. I am very glad there are people out there willing to take stray animals into their homes. I myself helped my mom run a ferret rescue for a long time, saving sick, abandoned, and abused ferrets from tragedy and giveing them love.
Another thing people could do to prevent their animals from being lost is having them microchipped. My pets are. It's only $35 per animal and it comes in a shot that is only a sting and nothing more.
Great work, my friends and I also TNR as well, we try and socialize & rehome - but when they won't tame down we release them back to where we found them (Or in our yards!) and we care fro them every day. It is the most worthwhile 'hobby' I have, I am proud of every success, more so than my paid work... a big contract won, pales in comparison to seeing a kitty trust me, rolling over to have a tummy tickle! Bless you!
What a wonderful and caring video---Bless you and all your animals. We too rescue, shelter, spay, and neuter cats. I will spend every day I have on this earth helping cats.
This is such a nice video, Thank You. I just wish people would be more responsible with their pets, it breaks my heart to go to the shelter and see all the babies just wanting to go to a forever home and knowing that maybe 5-10 out of about 150 will get a home. So Sad. Please, Don't shop, Adopt!
You and your friends keep up the Very Awesome work =]
About a year ago It was raining really hard,I open the door and hear meowing,One kitten pops out from under the house And so I was Out in the rain calling these kittens out one by one,I made sure there were no more. There were 3,One orange,Grey and A VERY Skinny black one.I gave them Little warm baths and warm milk from an eyedropper.there were young

The best thing we could do for ferals is to hire professional hunters to eliminate them quickly and painlessly with low-velocity small-caliber rifles.

And she's right next to me :))) SAVE STRAYS!!!!!!!!!

of your own cute pet cat onto these wild animals, you might as well go TNR wild raccoons, foxes, possums for "their sake".
AlienDragon 2 years ago
TNR is just another form of eradicating feral cats, except that TNR is so-called "humane" while stressing the cats and suddenly removing their sex hormone supplies. Feral cats are wild, and for millenia, they have co-existed among human settlements like this, we only domesticated them to stay with us and because they looked cute. Unless a cat was previously owned and abandoned, there is no such thing as a homeless cat, the wild is their home. And if you are going to project your feelings...

She's fixed and will be microchipped eventually (she is an indoor cat, never sets foot outside unless in a carrier).

SidneyB27 3 years ago
You are totally right -- I just went with "neutered" 'cause it was shorter than saying "spayed/neutered" and also a lot of people don't even know what spayed means. LOL

scared. and, though it took a lot of work, slowly, and steadily became loving to all humans. now, this was a cat that you couldn't get withing 20 feet of, unless you had a bowl of food. then, you could get about 15 feet from it. yet, now she lives a happy life. she was EXTREMELY scared. not feral tho. feral cats will remain feral until the day they die. if you've ever seen a show about feral humans, the best you can get them, is being scared of everybody except the person that takes care of
SidneyB27 3 years ago
Cats are so individual that you would never know if one is going to tame up or not. And they certainly surprise you. With my experience, I would say that 90% of the strays that are out there WILL become tame to a degree with the person or people who feed/care for it. The cat will run from anyone else who tried to get close to it. That's my experience anyway. Over time they come closer and closer and let you pet them even.
Lisann52 3 years ago
exactly the point i was trying to get across.

Loveydvy99 3 years ago
It's funny how true this vid really is, when we adopted Sora/Archie back in August of 2006, he was only 5 weeks old. Usually you're not supposed to adopt kittens that young, but the little guy was found tied to a fence a week before.
We had him neutered as soon as he was of age to do so, and have kept him in since, he's become in my books, a loveable cat even though he's bad.
Everyone, I agree, the TNR tactic should be imposed. Neutering and Spaying your pet is the best thing you can do.

Starbright4876 4 years ago
Just keep up with the human contact. I firmly believe that most cats will tame up -- and the younger they are, the faster they will tame. But you never know with older cats, too. Like people, they're all different. Some just take longer. Keep up the great work! And, thanks so much for watching!

ualuuanie 4 years ago
Shooting an animal is not an efficient means of population control -- it's not only cruel but also illegal in some states in the U.S. Air rifles will only wound an animal, they don't kill. Stray cat populations will be controlled only when have their cats neutered.

when i'm old enough to have my own house (I'm 12) i will adopt some cats and dogs I love animals.

ItalianWarrior777 4 years ago
Whoever posted this video is a fucking idiot, stray cats are happy, happier than being imprisoned in someone's house! They can very well survive in the wild and enjoy their freedom! This is by far the stupidest video in youtube!
ItalianWarrior777 4 years ago
First of all -- there's no reason for profanity when commenting on a video. Children watch these videos and read the comments.

There's profanity all over youtube, get over it
ItalianWarrior777 4 years ago
yeah. im 12 and this touched me. i tought that this is great even though i love wild cats. i read Warriors and i think this happened to them. but they learned to survive. so, ItalianWarrior777, u r the idiot. cats may want freedom but they want food and shelter. that is y they suffer. even if they can find food, they can still suffer.

American animal shelters are such assholes!

I don't think they should be euthanized but you have to remember cats weren't put on this earth to be a pet
ronp407 4 years ago
No, they CHOSE to be pets. Unlike dogs, the cat mostly self-domesticated through natural selection.

Bless you!

Thank you all for your kind words. It's great to know there are other people helping homeless companion animals.
Hopefully, the people who watched this video who didn't know that pet overpopulation is such a huge problem will help out in some way, as well.
