Hey man, this is DWBass. That bass sounds hot. How do you like those preamps? I'm about to put some Bartolini Classic series Brights and a Bartolini 2 band eq pre in my Fender Jazz. Had I known about those preamps, I could have saved a few dollars. I think I got that Epifani PS112 from you as well. I have passed that on. It served me well for the time I had it but I had to back to 10's and got me a Genz Benz GB410T (original 90's model). Heavy but loud as hell!
@dwalmz I like them. It turned that bass into a killer. I am about to install one in a Squier Jazz Deluxe Active. I will post a video of that one also before and after.
@bassstudent4life It is a good preamp. I would recommend it if you want a preamp that will boost the sound you give it. The bass is hot though so you may have to adjust the gain on the module.
@bassstudent4life It is very similiar to the Bart pre to my ears. If you have all Bart then stay with it. This pre is a low cost alternative for those looking to upgrade sup par electronics.
Thanks for putting this review up. I've got an Ibanez 5 string that I've been wanting to breath some new life into. I've been drooling over Aguilar and Bartolini units. But, I'd love it if they were less expensive / I had a better job. Then, I saw these on ebay. Couldn't ignore the price, but was nervous of the quality. I loved what I read in the TalkBass page this video was linked from. But, actually hearing it has me thinking there's gonna be one in my bass shortly. So, again, thanks for this.

@Robear0022 Did you have a problem getting the preamp and battery to fit in the cavity?

@kingpiccolo82 This bass had a battery compartment on the back. The module is kinda big so you need lots of room.

i got barts ntmb pre and quad pickup in my z5, would you recommend this preamp instead?
