@Henkera A weak person blames the tools. Any synth is capable of any kind of instrument sound. The fact that people use specific instruments for specific sounds (Subtractor for Bass, Malstrom for sci-fi sounds, etc.) is only because 99% of people are led to believe that these synths are better at THOSE sounds. But you can very easily create a solid kick with Thor, just as you can with the Malstrom and Subtractor. Have a look at the FSB if you don't believe me.
@Phisequence Herp derp, ok i'll go back making beats on my $10 casio from when i was 7. Im not a retard so lay of that single phrase parrot crap. I been working with analog gear for years and before that, pushing reasons synths and effects to the limit. Yah i can make a kick on any synth in Reason, but they are not good at it. Compared to other synths (both software and hardware) they s.u.c.k.
@Henkera Yeah well mine is bigger than yours.... oh nevermind. If it sucks so much for making kicks, don't use it for that. But just because you don't use it for kicks, doesn't mean you can't make a good kick with it. That's my only point. Anyway.... moving on. . .
@Phisequence "But just because you don't use it for kicks, doesn't mean you can't make a good kick with it"
Its exactly what it means. The kick in your video, it differed from time to time and its impossible to avoid unless you make the click with another synth or/and resample it and load it into a sampler. Workflow?. Just trying to save peoples time and money. Kong is pretty decent though, but if you want software that sounds closer to the real thing you have to look elsewhere. Moving on...
@BIFFdubs Edit > Preferences. Then in the "General" tab, which should be open by default, there is a checkbox labelled "Load Default Sound in New Devices" -- make sure this does NOT have a checkbox. Now any devices you load in Reason won't have a default sound in them. They will all load up "initialized"
Thor sucks for kicks. Its to unstable to get a solid click and the filter doesn't self oscilate good enough.
