  • Thanks for this !!!!!!

  • I lost this 12-inch long time ago. Thanx for bringing it back.

  • It's a great version of an excellent song.

  • Incredible track... but what's with the dodgy floating slip case... lol

  • Ahh! the eighties......

  • I remember buying this. Memory lane. Superb upload man.

  • this is amazing. thank you

  • Whoever plays bass on this is outstanding.

  • That were great that. Love the video. Was hoping a giant cock was going to creep onto the screen at any moment. Oh well.

  • Fuck me where has all the talent gone? This century's music is almost unlistenable.

  • great extended version,i just like all exteded versions from FGTH cause they cant failed,i suppose its all because of big producer Trevor Horn,he's the genius!!!

  • Thank you for the upload i thought id never hear this again :)

  • The 80's did produce its share of garbage music but not thie group. These guys definitely stood out from most of them at that time. Too bad they couldn't have done more albums like this ....

  • this is the original got it on vinal in the 80s

  • wonderful! why not the whole runtime!? : ).

  • That spoken bit at the beginning takes this song to another level... So hypnotic.

  • wonderful.... can you make a a digital version introducing it as HD way1?

  • "Pleasurefix Mix == Real Altered - same version, "

    Yes, was going to say.

  • loooooooove it....... X

  • DU TRES BON FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD WELCOME TO THE PLEASUREDOME WAOWWWW!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it's fair to say that FGTH the band had nothing to do with this single. Yes Holly and Paul sang on it but the record was created by JJ Jeczalik, Trevor Horn, Andy Richards and Steve Lipson. They're the guys who came up with the production, played it, recorded it and mixed it.

  • @noiseache Based on the original demo by the band FGTH....

  • I think Mark O'Toole must have been channeling James Jamerson to have devised and performed the bass for 'Welcome to the Pleasuredome'. He essentially provides the percussion as well as the bass for it. This is one of the top performances of the era.

  • Trevor Horn is a God, the track is a work of art, the rest is history !!

  • @bald33sh double that

  • To have just one weekend back then.....This track was just a work of art...

  • Hoo! Hah! Hoohah!

  • what a great version, never heard this 12" version before, Many Thanks!

  • YES!!

  • Thank you 0x51d for posting this very special version of a classic track - I used this as my demo track when buying my HI FI seperates, it blew the guys in the hi fi shop away - 25 years later still thrills my daughters on the very system I bought back then - awsome song mainly due to Trevor Horn, a production perfectionist. Classic track that would cut it in any modern night club today ... and often does in remixes.

  • @speedo202

So bloody right, i use the original ztt 12" mix, its truly stunning, my Michelle Gyrodec

turntable puts you in Hi Fi heaven, the pace of this is insane......

  • I bought this record in 1985, when I was a soldier in Turin (north of Italy). Trevor Horn made the history of the 80s, and no actual X-Factor crap can compete with his genius.

  • class.

  • 0:56 "ecstasy" Beltram sampled this on 'Energy Flash'

  • you should hear this on my £1,500 Michelle Gyrodec 12" version, it will waste any fuckin sterile CD into next year, absolutely of the planet......proper music when writing an talent were important, no x factor shit .......

  • I'm forty now, still sounds innovative

  • Isn't this actually the Pleasurefix Mix?

  • Pleasurefix Mix == Real Altered - same version, different names on different releases.

  • @death2hiphopnRnB this is the original got it on vinal in the 80s

  • @death2hiphopnRnB spot on that man... wow

  • @Nicotinejuice 19 yrs old this track was the first in my life to make me think for the first time. And few after

  • @Nicotinejuice you didn't think before the age of 19?

  • Which are the other songs in the disk?

  • Still sounds so new. Groundbreaking music. Coolest guy on the planet.

  • Is this the original 12" from the 80's?

  • Yes.

  • Thanks

  • Epic:o)

  • Absolutley top class music. Better than the shite that's played today.

  • @marklee125

    you´re so damn right m8!!!

  • Damn, I remember picking up this 12" single back in the day. I absolutely loved it, and the B-Sides were really good to (Relax International and Happy Happy Hi, IIRC)

Mind you, first time I put it on, I didn't know it was a 45, so it was even more trippy. ;)

  • ps. Love the special effects ! xx

  • Thankyou. I'm 12 again lying on my bed listening to this with the record playing . i love vinyl. xxxx

  • Currently restoring a 1985 MG Metro Turbo. The time and place says it all with this music. The 80's were the awakening into modern times, althought the Metro is fairly basic technology today!

All i need now is an early BRICK mobile phone and red braces to complete the look!

    Thanks for a great post.

  • BTW...1st time i heard this was back on radio Luxembourg..I thought it was never gonna end!! :))

"Shooting stars never stop, even when they reach the top" thanks to Stewart & Olly Henry for playing this on radio Lux. Bring back LUX!! Station of the 80s.

  • I think this is the "Plesurefix mix"??

    sheer class!!

  • Yes, it's called "Pleasurefix Original 12" mix" on the CDs I have.

  • Ace !!! saw fgth in the 80's at the hammersmith odeon ... !!!! class

  • Trevor Horn is a genius!

  • I used to take myself into a trance with this song when I was 16, it was mindblowing AND STILL IS. Not only that, Holly was a seriously cool guy, way ahead of his time.

  • I got this record man! It's the most incredible remix & the arrangement is excellent...! FGTH. what a BAND! :)

  • :)))! Very NICE! Good Dance ;)! 1980 is the best!

  • I've got the original 12 inch for this cut (same as the vid) - 23 years old - superb to this day! Not a scratch on it.

  • Thanks for the vid! FGTH is the truth!

  • The Bloodsport "Kumite Sound"

  • Aural Bliss!

  • seem to remember hearing a dance version of this on pete tong way back in the day... anyone know what version its called

  • It's off the Reload Frankie: The Whole 12 Inches Album. You can get it off of iTunes, but it's the 9:40 version NOT the 14 minute one!

  • cheers

  • thanks absolutley fantastic.

  • best remix and arrangement I have ever heard. Period

  • I'll post the Fruitness mix up soon. I've analysed the structure of that too, it's quite complicated.

  • I've been doing some analysis of the mixes.

See the Wiki page for info.

The first 12" mix (Real Altered) is also refered to as "The Pleasurefix" mix (not to be confused with the "Pleasure Fix" instrumental). It's basically an instrumental run through the track followed by a vocal run through, with an edit back to the start after the third instrumental chorus. The introduction uses the spoken voice as detailed above, with some unusual keyboard sounds.

  • This is the Pleasurefix 12" mix, as featured on the CDS re-release from early 90s, as well as the compilation albums Reload! There's another 12" mix called the Fruitness Mix. I've got a copy on the double compilation "FGTH: 12 inches".

  • I used to have the 12" of the mix you are talking about the cover was the bowl of fruit from the cover of the mix above.... Is there any chance you could upload it????

  • I can do some Youtube community service work, yes.

  • Awesome Tune And It's The Extended one thanks.

  • just great!. I have been looking this extended version for years. Thank you very much. It is music production/arrangement at its best. Unfortunately today standards are gone sour

  • dunno what the poster thing is all about but this was one of my favs back in the day
