  • I need to get myself one of those

  • @bobbyl1967

better think twice about that one

  • theres a guy that owns one down my street it talks its so cute to in it dances to lol it lols to :0

  • AWWWWWW (and i mean that)

  • They're not playing he's just trying to find his house keys!

  • their so fuking beautiful

  • As for the rescue centre, it is on the North West coast of Costa Rica, about 30 minutes from Tamarindo, in a town called Portegolpe.

  • The birds were donated by the owners who couldn't care for them anymore. As for Mega's questions, they made a LOT of noise and talked a little but they were still very young at the time and hadn't spent a lot of time with the previous owners. We tried to keep their lives as non confined as possible. They were let out of their cages in the morning, flew and walked around, then came back at night for dinner.

  • can he/she talk? can he/she make noises? does he/she imitate you? OH GOD i have so many questions my lips are flapping! answer if you can but just dont insult me cuz im curious...

  • Where is this rescue center located?

  • so beautiful

  • Wonderful creatures. I'll never have anything like the time and level of commitment that they require. (and another reason for me not to have them, is that I find the scream of cockatoos/large parrots is shatteringly loud, far louder than I can stand... :-)

  • Gorgeous...We have 3 Scarlets. They are wonderful birds & extremely intelligent.

Not for the novice though. They need a lot of daily attention, expensive diet & are very demanding & LOUD!

Do your research before getting one as there are too many that are impulse buys & then the realization sets in how much work & time they take.

You are 100% tied down 24/7. You do not leave these birds & go away for a weekend. You have to have a sitter...for about 80 years..lol

    I still LOVE them though!!

  • wow these are just breath taking, I want one...

  • i want those birds ! ~

  • @olivefosteru They where tame but abused?

    So the rescue saved em?

  • yeah right

  • @WhiningLittleKid sad to read this - I hope you've been able to find another fine bird to love.

  • the Romanian flag macaw :)

  • The background song is 'my life' by Billy Joel

  • they must make a great wake up alarm lol! I worked with one: Iggy -> they're my favorite species -> african greys are great too

  • Beautiful and bright birds! I was reading an article that stated some keys contain lead and should never be given to children to play with. I would feel the same with my birds. Anyhow, you have some very nice birds there. Very colorful!!

  • Cute byrds. & that sounds like the "Bosom Buddies" theme song in the background.

  • they are just so brightly red I love their colors gorgeous!!!

  • As I understand it, you're right ... you can't. The birds, along with many other animals/birds were placed in an animal rescue centre in Costa Rica a few years ago after they were found in someone's home by authorities.

  • like someone said before, watch out for keys, which have zinc which is very poisonous to parrots.

sadly, i know someone who lost a hyacinth macaw because it swallowed a piece from a metal zipper. =(

  • they are a stunning colour

  • Scarlet Macaws are beautiful birds with variety of colours!

  • Sweet birds MAN

  • you took the thoughts right outta my mind dttype :P. I subscribe to several bird forums and there has been a death (smaller parrot) because of a soft metal object in house it nibled on(SS is the safest, so i'd stay away from most others)

  • Beautiful rainbow color

  • Very very cute -but watch out for playing with keys - they're loaded with zinc and they can be easily poisoned! baby toys are good.

  • A very nice pair of birds :D
