You Know What, these kinds of things were not an issue at the time..Those were the times when everything wasn't about money. We had only one state channel at the time and it had some strange rules about music and considered this song as Arabesk which was a type of music banned on that channel. That was the reason we didn't hear it on TV again but everyone in Turkey knew the song. WE love awara and Raj Kapoor as much as Indians do.. WE know mere man ki ganga as well..

i was just a little girl when i heard the song on Turkish TV for the first time..It was never broadcasted again and I never heard the song anywhere again but it stayed with me for years..I Was delighted when our singer Orhan gencebay sang it years later, it was like meeting a long lost childhood friend and i cried..
