@wheresblair-Like this vid!I've fired this gun, liked it.one thing I do different when shooting for long sessions at the range,i'll wear batting gloves, improves and or keeps constant grip and my groupings stay consistant a bit longer.
Shouldn't that be "I can qualify with this gun" rather than "this gun can qualify". Just a pet peeve of mine, but most guns these days shoot where the shooter is aiming them.
Hey, are several of those rounds key-holing (turning sideways by the time they hit the paper)? It appears that way. That's not a good thing. You said you're using reloads. Wonder if that's got something to do with it?
Nice review, thanks. My interest is in the 357 model though I'll load it with 38 P+ if I buy this revolver. The 357 is probably built to higher tolerance and strength specs than the 38 LCRs and only ways four ounces more.
Obviously this guy needs to take the advice that's stamped on the gun, READ THE MANUAL. As said, you need to take the yellow ring out before dry firing.
I have to comment, dry firing the revolver with that ring in can damage your firing pin. It is NOT there so you can dry fire your revolver, it is there for safety. If your going to dry fire your revolver remove the plastic first!
@Strong45Side and you can confirm that on page 13 of your manual. Got to love when people tell you to read the manual and clearly have not read it themselves, then give wrong and possibly damaging information on youtube.
i shot mine the otherday for the first time. i was cutting my finger on the part of the trigger than comes down after the trigger is fully pulled, have you had that problem or is it the way iam squezzing it. also i thought it had a good amount of kick, would using lower grain ammo lower recoil? (I couldnt imagne what +p ammo feels like
Where's Blair? Hopefully he's actually reading his LCR owner's manual. It CLEARLY states that you e are NOT to fire the gun with the plastic guard on the cylinder. By the way, it's been a long time since "dry firing" a revolver was bad for he gun. You can dry fire the LCR and any other new revolvers all day with no negative impact on the gun. Read owners manuals before you mislead the You tube viewers. You should pull the video man.
Thanks for the very helpful video. Although I'd love to carry a bigger caliber, longer pistol like my 2 springfields, even the XD subcompact is a little thick and heavy for my required attire and the Texas heat (and the 12 gauge just attracts attention!). I think I'm sold on a reliable, light revolver for pocket carry-- I've come to accept the saying that "the best gun is the gun you have with you." I'm thinking Crimson Trace grips, too.
@wheresblair wow that ring is awesome, now i can practice quick drawing and firing without using so much ammo, (in a safe location not pointed in a dangerous direction)
@Garuda1337 Depends on where you live. Southern Cal.... good luck unless you are politically connected or a celebrity.
Central and extreme Northern, some counties are pretty easy like Fresno or around Tulare. San Francisco? FUGEDABOUTIT, unless you are willing to blow Gavin Nuisance.
@Garuda1337 OC here and unfortunately I waited too long to apply and Sheriff Corona got himself busted. I hear for a little campaign donation his permitting policies loosed up considerably. LOL. I'm leaving this stupid state. I'll permit up where ever I land unless it's Arizona where the natural right to conceal a weapon is still honored without having to grovel for permission.
I fired the LCR in .38 and also the new .357 version out at Raahauge's (in Norco, CA) a couple months ago. Most folks could pick up the .38 version and be accurate with it after some practice; the .357 version definitely requires extensive practice because of the kick. Low snag factor so it would carry well by CCW holders, and since it's a Ruger you can be sure it's a well-designed and constructed gun.
I just checked out one of these guns, holy crap they are light, probably weigh less than my BlackBerry. I imagine you would feel some recoil with these!
Very, very cool video. Very informative. You sold me on getting the LCR. Now you'll have to ANSWER to the Missus. She's pissed at me (and you) for even THINKING bout a new bang machine. Seriously, thanks. Preciate your video.

In your honest opinion, in bad situation, do you think .38+p can get the job done, or would it be a better choice to go with the .357 version?
VECCMV 2 months ago
If he would have read the manual like he recomends, he would know the round plastic thingy isn't suppose to be in when dry firing.

It's my understanding that it's damn near impossible to get a CCW in CA, unless you work in the security sector.

FYI - According to Ruger you should definitely NOT dry fire with the yellow plastic disc in place - They told me it was a safety disc only .
