@TheJbr777 1. that doesnt make him any worse 2. he's super nice to phillies fans. What team do you like? Because he probably just doesn't have the time.
@jarcanman i like the giants and dbacks but i used to love roy halladay! but one day i went to one of the phillies and giants games and when i asked him for an autograph he stared at me like he wanted to strangle me or something :( and he didnt even say anything. he stared at me all the way into the tunnel :( i was wearing a giants shirt but thats no reason to be mean :(
@jarcanman What stats are you referring to when you say lincecum sucks? If you're looking at just wins/losses you have to take in to account the lack of run support
@jarcanman Guy had a 2.74 ERA this year. If the Giants weren't so bad offensively he'd have more wins. Do your homework next time before calling one of the best pitchers out there a bust.
@zshar10 well he still doesn't have the skillset of roy halladay or any of the other elite pitchers like verlander, maybe he isnt a bust but this guy, bauer, sure isnt the next lincecum.
@jarcanman Are you retarded? W/L record means nothing. Check the stats. This year, Lincecum was statistically better than either of his Cy Young seasons. He just didn't win because morons like you think that wins and losses mean anything.
I'm a big believer in keeping your eye on the target all the way through, especially after slight before and after the ball is released. he jerks his head. But I haven't really seen him pitch, so I'm not sure if he hits his targets or not.
No inverted W, nice stride, tucks the glove...three big keys. It could use a little tweaking, but his mechanics bode well for his arm's health going forward.
@yojdizzle all that stuff is true but now ppl are sayin that lincecum is gona be done in a couple years and how hes not gona have his good stuff when he gets older bc of his mechanics
@aaronpatterson33 i workout with bauer and go to the same pitching coach in houston every summer along with him. people have been telling him the same things they tell lincecum "youll get hurt" lincecum or bauer have never been hurt in their careers, and that is because he uses ALL of his body and all his arm does is come along for the ride. how do you think lincecum, all 5' 9" 165 lbs has touched 98 mph? you have no idea what youre talking about.
DO NOT COPY HIS MECHANICS! sure hes a sucessful pitcher.... but he has to work so hard to reach good velocity. hes throwing with mostly his arm. he rotates his hips way too early forcing his arm to do most of the work
@aaronpatterson33 incorrect. harder throwing pitchers are guys that get their hips open before their upper half..see slow motion of tim lincecum if you dont believe me. they do this so that their top half has to rotate even faster to catch up to their lower half therin accelerating their arm speed which is like a bull whip the arm is just along for the ride.
@casurfer21 this kid is throwing all arm. you have to rotate your hips when your front foot is planted or else you will not be using your body efficiently
@casurfer21 You are absolutely correct. Bauer goes to my pitching coach during the summer who teaches this exact philosophy. The pelvic thrust of the lower half makes the upper half have no choice but to catch up. The faster this happens, the faster you throw, simple. This also benefits the arm health because the upper half catching up creates a proer finish, which makes it easier on your decelerator muscles next to the shoulder
@TRavBaseball12 if there was one way to do it everyone would be doing it that way. he pitches with his own style but he will more than likely end up hurt, along with lincecum. when he lands his hips are fully rotated. if you look at pitchers like daniel bard of the boston red sox and even guys like nolan ryan, they are not all they way open with their hips when their knee braces up. They use the rotation of their hips to whip the arm through.
@aaronpatterson33 when they both land their hips are facing the plate and their shoulders arent. hoe is that not good? youre not a good coach are you?
@aaronpatterson33 yes, i just looked at a slow mo video of him and when his heel lands his hips begin to rotate, when the rest of his foot lands his hips are rotated but his shoulders are not.
@aaronpatterson33 Incorrect. Hip/shoulder separation (hips rotating ahead of shoulders) is exactly how you safely reach high velocities. If he was throwing all arm, he'd be throwing across his body and wouldn't get such great rotation. Notice how his back leg finishes in front on him after he delivers.
Does some good things in his motion and has a little bit of a lincecum look but uses different techniques. Similar things are little posture, coil and he has good hip rotation, different things would be arm action, leg lift height and follow through. Looks like he has good flexibility he's just not using it the best that he could be. Great pitcher all in all
@santorz lincecum had 2 great years now he sucks BUST... If u Want a pitcher that no one will ever be like, take roy halladay

if he uses more of his lower half then just his hips and his arm you can use them but its never good to copy someones mechanics

are his mechanics good to teach to another ?
