I believe that somewhere in some far away evolutionairy stage, humans where able to absorb there protein better by cooking their foods. I believe it was quiet essential at that stage if i'm not mistaken.
The meatarian had more muscle while the fruitarian was skinny-fat. This is because meat has more protein than fruits. Only meat has creatine, taurine, carnitine, carnosine, vit. B12, heme iron, sufficient zinc, DHA, EPA, retinol, cholecalciferol, vit. K2, and vit. E. Humans can survive on a meat diet, but not a plant diet. This is because meat has the highest concentration of every essential and beneficial nutrient.

In my experience, dietitians speak with enormous arrogance and conclusion based on their tiny amount of inaccurate and outdated knowledge. I mean, for goodness sake, the Australian association of dietitian's primary sponsor is a dairy company! Whether or not diary is 'good for you', conflict of interest much? What I hear from dietitians is don't pursue your health, just smooth under the radar and eat a bit of everything because our knowledge is based on toeing the FDA line.

I'm sure there are great dietitians, but what you learn in the certification is up there with the blurb you get on a cereal box. The dietitian industry has virtually as much financial vested interests as medicine does (eg. sponsored by a dairy company). My advice is try every diet that interests you for 30-40 days and go with what helps you feel most ALIVE. I'm mostly vegan myself but raw meat eater seemed alive to me.

I agree that elephants have a very different digestive tract to humans, being herbivores, but I feel that we are very similar physiologically to the Anthropoid Apes, such as Gorillas. Our dental formular and our digestive tract are very similar physically to the Gorilla.

I would recommend reading the book The Caveman Diet which shows that our GI tracts are anatomically very much more similar to dogs than gorillas, and dogs are carnivores. Gorillas have a three compartment stomach. I do agree that a vegan diet is the way to go from reading The China Study, but I just can't figure out how it works physiologically.
I, myself, have found Gustav Schlickeysen's Comparative Analysis Tables (published in 1877) very useful for comparing the anatomy of mammals. Schlickeysen believes that our digestive tract, dental formular and placenta are almost identical to the Anthrodoid apes.
Dogs can chew bones, and tear into flesh and have very different dental formulae to humans, whilst our dental formular is exactly the same as a gorilla.
All animal life (that includes humans), when plant protein(amino acids) reaches an area where its needed, the cells convert it into the type of protein that cell needs. It's then known as "animal protein".
Matter of fact, animal protein HAS to be broken down into its simplest form(same as plant form) for the cells to use it.

plants have all the essential amino acids, just check the amino acid content on USDA database. Only few fruits and certain grains have less of a specific amino acid but still in the right amount to exceed the RDA for all 8 amino acids is enough calories are consumed.

Hi everyone. This summer has been interesting. I strayed a little from my mainly raw meat diet and started to eat more and more fruits etc. and other stuff since stayng close to my relatives on the coutnry side. After three weeks I had to say stop. The pain in my jaw/back molar tooth came back and I know the pain all to well. That was almost two weeks ago and this time it seems to take longer to heal. Not good. So I follow the diet even more strict this time; raw meats 3 times a day, liver, eggs
Hi y'all. Hope you enjoy the summer. I am but it's very hot. It's about now I can experience the benefits of a raw diet; vegan or not. No heavy cooked foods and stuff. Just simple and raw. But I don't eat so much meat right now. Mostly cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, heavy creams etc but still doing fine. My sister in law has four cats and two of them is having a great time when I've had some raw meat to eat. They love me right now! take care now!

I am a dietician in training, and I have seen many scholarly peer reviewed articles that suggest the raw food diet is beneficical. maybe not to the extreme of eating raw meat, or eating only fruit. Vegetables are important as well, as well as a few nuts and seeds here and there.
A number of folks eat a raw version of the warrior diet i.e. undereat during the day while consuming the bulk of calories in the evening. See there progress at rawpaleoforum(dot)com. This doesn't work for my mind-body, but others seem to thrive :) Be well.

How do we spot a 'meat industry' pawn? I actually feel that plants are vital in maintaining proper harmony and homeostasis in the human vehicle. Green juice is indespensible. Clearly understanding the track record of each and every material that we choose to ingest is a quality that makes one truly human. This also contributes to harmony on all levels of existence. This includes having an intimate relationship with any and all sources of sustenance, whether plant-based or animal-derived.
Our current growth and evolution as a cohesive human species or organism appears certain in this quest to avoid death in all forms. The intimate substance of life is determined by a heightened degree and mindfulness of the nature of existence, specifically impermenance. Primitive peoples knew this and regarding life in all facets as sacred. They consumed animal flesh, knowing directly that the self-same universal energy slaying that life-form would at some moment sacrifice their own mind-body.
I know Anne through fruitarian networking and she's a lovely and healthy woman - she isn't forcing anything on her children and the comment made by the nutritionist was just snide in its nature.

Hello; then you must be disgusted by all the tribes and all the people through our history on this planet living and being healthy on paleo diets and no doubt you must deny we ever eating a 'cave mans diet'. Natives and tribes still living today, eating paleo in one way or another, are living proofs that it works 100 % long term but 100 % fruitarian has not yet come up with an evidence that you can thrive long term. Logically, avocados, pine apples don't grow everywhere and that is just the way it is supposed to be. For maximum health, one should eat accordingly to ones geographic and environmental opportunities; locig and simple. Me for ex. I live in Sweden, what can I eat following these natural laws AND WHEN - that is crucial. THAT it's what it means by following the LAW of Nature. Hi, yes I've seen her christmas video. Hmm...I would like to know more though on both kids. Why not compare the stamina and endurance on these children? Maybe a recommended peditrician and/or physical trainee can set up a plan, different games both academic and physical ones to check their performance. I ask this because a few fruitarians seem terribly weak and looks like they have lost every ounce of life force. Their eyes are lifeless and their limbs scrawny. Not good PR for the diet.

A good thing would be if we could see how her children are doing, just like in Mr. Wheeler's case here. Just to convince us that all fruitarian is as good as they all claim, since alarming reports from parts of the world show otherwise. Shazzie, a raw vegan for years, gives her daughter eggs and supplements, very expensive supplements. Compare that to fresh, organic meat...it must be a shocker. And besides, meat and good fats will fill you up and nourish the brain which is appr. 60% cholesterol.
Mr. Wheeler looks much more healthy than Mrs. Osborne. He's got very nice, white teeth, soft skin, seems to be wrinkle free and I love that mans physic! But she looks so skinny, yellowish teeth and her skin in her face, compared to his, looks oldish. Her arms looks just like Cousens; very thin and no muscle physic at all. No harm but I vote for him and his kids, except for the worms :)
In all fairness, she twice his age!! You can find fruitarians that look great(If you acturally wanted to). Dr Douglas Graham has some videos. He's 50, been on 811 for 30 years.
Hi Gary, thank you for your reply. A few points: exotic fruits don't grow up here + being very, very expensive, and it gives me sore hurting teeth and strange burning feelings in my mouth. Also, why is it that some raw fooders suddenly blame old age, poor video quality etc to explaine why they are weak, and not so good lookin'? Isn't raw food supposed to give you energy, young looking appearence etc? I've heard so many strange excuses by now. She is 42, eating like this for 17, and have a
typical slouching back, fragile looking. 1st - Alot of raw fooders do it wrong. Alot of them are turning to 811 because all the nuts and "gormet" , agave and cacau isn't healthy. Raw food IS the way. But you gotta do it in a natural way. Its no like Mother nature got it wrong.
2nd - The body needs years to adjust to raw. Energy is being used to adjust, hence the weakness. But muscle is not, repeat, not lost. See "Fruitarian One".

Hi Gary, love your comment on Wolfe :). yes, of course there is benefits on raw animal/insects. it has dense nutrients the veggie and fruit kingdom doesn't have hence why tribes still eat them, preferably raw. They would die out quickly if eating all vegan raw. The raw animal foods sustain you in a much more effective and stable manner. I took me two weeks to adjust to it, for some it can take a couple of months, but the benefits never go away. It stays with you 24/7, not like raw where you have
to follow all these different adjustments, corrections etc. I never do that. I eat some raw meat and eggs, some cucumber, and later when in season; fruits and berries, locally grown. I love how my posture has gotten back to normal and how my pain stopped in my mouth. I don't follow any health guru; only what our forefathers used to eat up here. Our history is my teacher. That knowledge has so far never given me any weakness, just more strenght and stamina, my eyes are bright and skin soft...
As for people dying in their 40s, it's been reported when discussing deficiencies as for many vegetarians it turn out to be hazardous. But a genuine research would be welcome on that matter. What I'm trying to say is; a diet should give you health quite quickly. Living on raw vegan for so many years and still experience illness etc doesn't sound right. All the raw gurus I've followed for years tell you nothing but diet giving you all the positive effects. I think I'll stick to my raw paleo :-)
You seem to be ignoring the vegans who don't get sick. I got sick every 8 months of my life. Went vegan at 25 , sickness lessened, then stopped at 35. I'm now 41. I hear this same scenario among alot of vegans.

I would like to remind you guys that I have never felt such peace. It shouldn't be the case on all these meat but I do. I never take naps during the day, always have this great feeling of being part of something bigger than myself, I have tremendous patience with my daily struggle in this world, without failure all day long. On raw, I was always stressed out, piged out, never relaxed, binge eatin' especially on nuts. Nothing filled me up, being recentful and just up the walls. Not anymore :)!

The meatarian had more muscle while the fruitarian was skinny-fat. This is because meat has more protein than fruits. Only meat has creatine, taurine, carnitine, carnosine, vit. B12, heme iron, sufficient zinc, DHA, EPA, retinol, cholecalciferol, vit. K2, and vit. E. Humans can survive on a meat diet, but not a plant diet. This is because meat has the highest concentration of every essential and beneficial nutrient.

In my experience, dietitians speak with enormous arrogance and conclusion based on their tiny amount of inaccurate and outdated knowledge. I mean, for goodness sake, the Australian association of dietitian's primary sponsor is a dairy company! Whether or not diary is 'good for you', conflict of interest much? What I hear from dietitians is don't pursue your health, just smooth under the radar and eat a bit of everything because our knowledge is based on toeing the FDA line.

Coconut is not, botanically, a fruit, it's a nut, but why not mention the vegetable juice he drinks? Even Eskimo's utilize plants, though to a smaller extent, that I know of.

@senisensible This seems to be about the standard for the dietitian degree. I'm sure there are great dietitians, but what you learn in the certification is up there with the blurb you get on a cereal box. The dietitian industry has virtually as much financial vested interests as medicine does (eg. sponsored by a dairy company). My advice is try every diet that interests you for 30-40 days and go with what helps you feel most ALIVE. I'm mostly vegan myself but raw meat eater seemed alive to me.

I agree that elephants have a very different digestive tract to humans, being herbivores, but I feel that we are very similar physiologically to the Anthropoid Apes, such as Gorillas. Our dental formular and our digestive tract are very similar physically to the Gorilla.
Maybe our bacterial fauna has been affected by years of eating cooked and processed foods.

I would recommend reading the book The Caveman Diet which shows that our GI tracts are anatomically very much more similar to dogs than gorillas, and dogs are carnivores. Gorillas have a three compartment stomach. I do agree that a vegan diet is the way to go from reading The China Study, but I just can't figure out how it works physiologically.

I, myself, have found Gustav Schlickeysen's Comparative Analysis Tables (published in 1877) very useful for comparing the anatomy of mammals. Schlickeysen believes that our digestive tract, dental formular and placenta are almost identical to the Anthrodoid apes.
Dogs can chew bones, and tear into flesh and have very different dental formulae to humans, whilst our dental formular is exactly the same as a gorilla.

All animal life (that includes humans), when plant protein(amino acids) reaches an area where its needed, the cells convert it into the type of protein that cell needs. It's then known as "animal protein".
Matter of fact, animal protein HAS to be broken down into its simplest form(same as plant form) for the cells to use it.
Every cell in the human body replaces itself in 10 years. If what you said was true, vegans would disappear in 10 years; die in 4.

But in regards to the raw-meat-eating diet, what about all the "food safety" around raw meat that we've always been taught - that we need to cook raw chicken to kill salmonella, that raw beef will cause worms in your gut, and all that stuff... aren't there real dangers from eating raw meat? Hi everyone. This summer has been interesting. I strayed a little from my mainly raw meat diet and started to eat more and more fruits etc. and other stuff since stayng close to my relatives on the coutnry side. After three weeks I had to say stop. The pain in my jaw/back molar tooth came back and I know the pain all to well. That was almost two weeks ago and this time it seems to take longer to heal. Not good. So I follow the diet even more strict this time; raw meats 3 times a day, liver, eggs

Hi y'all. Hope you enjoy the summer. I am but it's very hot. It's about now I can experience the benefits of a raw diet; vegan or not. No heavy cooked foods and stuff. Just simple and raw. But I don't eat so much meat right now. Mostly cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, heavy creams etc but still doing fine. I am a dietician in training, and I have seen many scholarly peer reviewed articles that suggest the raw food diet is beneficical. maybe not to the extreme of eating raw meat, or eating only fruit. And there IS science showing there are more nutrients in raw foods versus cooked. She needs to go back to Nutrition 101 - where it is common knowledge that water (and some fat) soluble vitamins/minerals can get cooked out of food.

For maximum health, one should eat accordingly to ones geographic and environmental opportunities; locig and simple. Me for ex. I live in Sweden, what can I eat following these natural laws AND WHEN - that is crucial. THAT it's what it means by following the LAW of Nature. So I must eat according to season and what comes near hand, not from China, South Africa, Brazil etc. Oh, how blessed! :)

Also, being raw and eating raw applies to milk 'cause heated, vital proteins, calcium etc is almost impossible for the human metabolism to use. I still claim that she and her son is lacking vital fats. If an all raw fruitarian diet is so good for you, then how come their apperance is telling us the opposite? All of them officially promoting this are small, oldish looking, weak and have yellow teeth. Where are the ones that look as healthy as Mr. Wheeler with muscled tone bodies and white teeth?X

Hi, yes I've seen her christmas video. Hmm...I would like to know more though on both kids. Why not compare the stamina and endurance on these children? Maybe a recommended peditrician and/or physical trainee can set up a plan, different games both academic and physical ones to check their performance. I ask this because a few fruitarians seem terribly weak and looks like they have lost every ounce of life force. Their eyes are lifeless and their limbs scrawny. Not good PR for the diet.

A good thing would be if we could see how her children are doing, just like in Mr. Wheeler's case here. Just to convince us that all fruitarian is as good as they all claim, since alarming reports from parts of the world show otherwise. Shazzie, a raw vegan for years, gives her daughter eggs and supplements, very expensive supplements. Compare that to fresh, organic meat...it must be a shocker. And besides, meat and good fats will fill you up and nourish the brain which is appr. 60% cholesterol.

Mr. Wheeler looks much more healthy than Mrs. Osborne. He's got very nice, white teeth, soft skin, seems to be wrinkle free and I love that mans physic! But she looks so skinny, yellowish teeth and her skin in her face, compared to his, looks oldish. Her arms looks just like Cousens; very thin and no muscle physic at all. No harm but I vote for him and his kids, except for the worms :)

Scott, on the other hand I think is 32 or 39 have good posture, healthy skin tone and teeth(haven't yet seen a 100% fruitarian smile...), bright shiny eyes and robust children also with bright eyes and shiny white teeth. And what I've been told, not even Graham is totally vegan but that might be a rumor, but if looking at Kulvinskas background and Wolfe eating ants, RawGuru back to raw dariy and eggs I doubt they last long on raw. The saying is that to many are not doing well on 100 % raw and I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, it's just that why cant we ALL thrive on a raw diet, for example fruitarian? Why? Holly Paige, Greg Westbrook and many more at Halleluja Hacres, eventually developed deficiencis(??), and had to start bying expensive supplements. Now they can't promote the diet anymore. Healthy vegans die at their 40s from poor heart condition (I had sever heart palpulation). Why, if it's so good for you?:)

1st - Alot of raw fooders do it wrong. Alot of them are turning to 811 because all the nuts and "gormet" , agave and cacau isn't healthy. Raw food IS the way. But you gotta do it in a natural way. Its no like Mother nature got it wrong.
2nd - The body needs years to adjust to raw. Energy is being used to adjust, hence the weakness. But muscle is not, repeat, not lost. See "Fruitarian One".
As for dying in our 40's, It's sounding like you live in a different reality than me.

Hi Gary, love your comment on Wolfe :). yes, of course there is benefits on raw animal/insects. it has dense nutrients the veggie and fruit kingdom doesn't have hence why tribes still eat them, preferably raw. They would die out quickly if eating all vegan raw. The raw animal foods sustain you in a much more effective and stable manner. to follow all these different adjustments, corrections etc. I never do that. I eat some raw meat and eggs, some cucumber, and later when in season; fruits and berries, locally grown. I love how my posture has gotten back to normal and how my pain stopped in my mouth. I don't follow any health guru; only what our forefathers used to eat up here. Our history is my teacher. As for people dying in their 40s, it's been reported when discussing deficiencies as for many vegetarians it turn out to be hazardous. But a genuine research would be welcome on that matter. What I'm trying to say is; a diet should give you health quite quickly. Living on raw vegan for so many years and still experience illness etc doesn't sound right. All the raw gurus I've followed for years tell you nothing but diet giving you all the positive effects. I think I'll stick to my raw paleo :-)

For me, my biggest quest was to let go of all this and trust the diet we have been eating for 10s of thousands of years, since it has been proven over and over again til this very day, that it gives you all these positive effects, even LONG term. BUT, raw vegan can be very vital for initial detox and fast healing, 'cause we've been eating so bad for generations. But at the end, we all have to go back to basics = native/tribe. I would like to remind you guys that I have never felt such peace. It shouldn't be the case on all these meat but I do. I never take naps during the day, always have this great feeling of being part of something bigger than myself, I have tremendous patience with my daily struggle in this world, without failure all day long. On raw, I was always stressed out, piged out, never relaxed, binge eatin' especially on nuts. Nothing filled me up, being recentful and just up the walls. Not anymore :)!

Hello Gary. I was raw vegan for many years. Colds and flu became non-existent during my length of raw veganism. I did however eventually develop overall lack of energy after many years, along with gradual digestive weakness. I was diagnosed with cancer after these many years, although I never had any sign of flu/cold or sickness. To my wonderment and discovery I found that end stage cancer patients oftentimes can't get sick or achieve fever states. This truly shifted my perspective.

That nutritionist is grossly misinformed. To say that fruit has no protein just goes to show how totally ignorant mainstream "so called" nutritionists are. Of course, I'm sure her course content at whatever school she went to was determined in conjunction with the meat and dairy industries. Nutritionists of today are nothing more than walking promos for the meat and dairy industry.
Just for your info, a banana is 4% protein and watermelon is 7.5% protein!!!
