  • Are you out of your fuckin' mind!? Shame on you for ruining this magnificent song!

  • Why do you say this is from MTV when it is obviously from The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno?

  • @bobcows see video @ 7 sec. in

  • @translateslowly oops! My bad.

  • amazing blues, she can do it all... and love those natural eyebrows back then too...

  • I think that PJ Harvey is one of the women that really look good with a guitar.

  • Huh??

  • Having MUSIC with PJ is Better than SEX! Plzzzz let me play ur bassss....

  • Jesus help!!!

  • awesome. love her guitar tone too

  • It certainly is an original take on the song-I'm impressed by how powerful her singing is here.

  • hotter

    than

    you know what

  • I'd love to pitch a wang dang doodle with her :P

  • She does it her way. Check out Koko Taylor's version here on youtube--the one when she was young.

  • most of her contemporaries probably haven't ever even given howlin wolf a second thought, if they know his work at all! pj has great taste, and she's such a badass!

  • PJ Harvey is the only female guitarist I have ever really looked up to. Her sound is so dirty and the stuff she plays rocks!

  • GODDAMN!!!

  • so fucking iconic!

  • It's funny. As much as I love Tori Amos I can admit she has had many weak albums. PJ always delivers. Not one bad album. Why aren't her fans more rabid?

  • Her fans are some of the most rabid I've heard of! However, she is more obscure than Tori Amos, if that's what you mean.

  • apathy, old age, children, heavy taxation, hair loss, devil-worshippin' orgies...and...ah ye...TUPPERWARE/Ann Summers parties...all that makes their pathetic lives bearable...and they forget P.J. next album

  • I Love how the Blues always pops up from out of nowhere. Just to let us know where it all started. This is the first time i've heard this version. And she does it justice man. I think the Howlin Wolfe would like it too.

  • Polly Jean has been my idol since 1991!

  • playing a Willie Dixon tune..not imitating anyone, doing in her stye...on mtv..this girl is really cool no matter if you like or dont like her style...

  • who's getting royalties for this you think?

  • This fuckin' rocks..!

  • I fucking love this.

  • This is PJ at her best. Kick ass guitar riff and a voice that a greek siren would envy.

  • i love this song and her tone is so great too

  • eightballs,sorry

  • I love this song. she's hot too. I'll bet she's got a full rack of eighballs

  • WOW! PJ, Koko cover, Fender Tele... thats the blues...... :-)

  • It is actually a Willie Dixon song,

  • whoa cool

  • nice butterscotch guitar and she heavily influenced in the blues

  • brilliant.

  • This is akin to Sid Vicious covering Sinatra's

    "My Way"...

  • I like this! It shows off her vocal skills

  • Why did you watch it then. I see lots of stuff that I think sucks but never feel the need to post a comment about it. Stick to what you like and leave us alone!

  • Because it's a website that allows you to comment however you want. Stop whining.

  • shes so fantastic here, her voice is so potent...Willie Dix is the definitive of course.

  • love

  • I prefer this one to Koko Taylors. Koko tends to scream a lot, whereas PJ has a subtler approach.

  • Her teeth look good and sharp!

  • Dixon's version is the best - with all band - harp, guitar, piano, bass - that makes the climat of the song.

  • 14 años sin escuchar esto. gracias

  • that's great idea... sorry mom

  • the best version

  • Ah the lovely young Polly :)

  • I love Polly Jean, even though for me this will always be Howlin' Wolf's song, so to speak. Thanks for posting this.

  • well it is a Willie Dixon song so as far as I'm concerned anyone can do it . . . but Koko Taylor's version is solid as hell too

  • I hadn't heard Koko's version, though I love her work - I'll be sure to check it out.

  • WOW, that was the first one that I ever heard . . . it's amazing to me that you hadn't heard it XD . . . but I dunno how into the blues you are so idk . . . I'm a blues soldier, LOL

  • I don't follow the blues closely at all, especially not Koko's work.. but to me, if Koko ever had a "signature" song, one that she was most known for, it was this one.

  • umm , It just seems so different after hearing the Grateful Dead's version..I know it's a very old song..~Peace

  • How absolutely, genuinely horrifying

  • You definitely want to stay away from her when she gets scary then.
