You only find this 'odd' becuase you're so used to politics as usual. The guy is honest. Different. Man - I love it. I hope he runs again. Odd? No - honest.
How the hell could the other Democratic voters be so foolish as to support people like Obama and Hilary over this guy?! Or Kucinich, at least? Not even Richardson? Richardson doesn't sound like a demagogue like some weak Democratic voters might mistake Gravel for, AND richardson is an "electable" moderate with sensibility and experience.
It's too bad that Gravel doesn't have much of a chance. I've listened to him speak and I feel confident in his abilities as a leader. And I just want to apologize for not voting for Gravel on Super Tuesday, since I am still a minor.
This man has been ONE of only TWO INTELLIGENT, ETHICAL, & COURAGEOUS candidates running in this election, but, since the other guy has been FORCED to drop out, by the "Powers That Be" (mainstream media, who's owned by big corporations, who's owned by THEE MOST CORRUPT, GREEDY, LYING SCUM)...GRAVEL is OUR LAST HOPE TO SAVE US!!!
Thank you, Mr. Gravel, for not backing down when all the other major Democrats did just because they didn't get the primary results they were expecting! You are a true patriot! You don't have loony supporters who spam all the youtube videos, and you still share many of the same values as Paul. You are one of the few men-of-the-people candidates in this day and age. The Democrats ignored you at their own peril. Now we're between a rock and a hard place: Hilary or McCain?
Is this book available out of the US? this guy isn't well-known in Europe, but I find what he's talking about very clever, much more based on reality that what I've seen so far...

I think Mike is very evolved and wise. His wisdom is overwhelming, and emotionally well placed to give him a knack of courage to confront the REAL issues which are: the political system needs a revision with the same founding principles, the attitude of apathy in changing times and quality of education.
yeah a politician being honest with himself, openly is looked down these days....by his own people )-:---yay, "democracy"!;-(( yay, "conscience"! :-((
I'm behind you, Mike, though I know you don't really have a shot. I do appreciate your honesty and direct approach. I doubt I'll even have to have this comment "approved" for it to be viewed.
Mike doesn't need your kind of "love". The American people, not the party nomination or the convention are going to determine the outcome in 2008. Go love Ron Paul or someone else who doesn't have a "shot".
Do you work for the CIA or the Pentagon? Your logic sounds just like people who work for those agencies who don't have the best interests of Americans in mind but claim that they do.
Mike does have a shot, he's in it until the very end. Make sure to read Mike's book, "Citizen Power", it will be available this month for free to read online & for sale as soft-cover.
He's done guys. That's all I'm saying. I've been behind this thing (supporting his campaign) from the very beginning but... I think its time we reconcile with reality. HE DOES NOT STAND A CHANGE. Sorry. I think he would make a great president. Surely better than Obama and MOST CERTAINLY better than Hillary but he could never get the votes.
I still don't think a vote for him is wasted. When he entered the race, his attitude was that it doesn't matter whether he wins or loses, only that he calls attention to the issues. Even if he doesn't have a chance at winning now, at the end of the election people will see how many votes he got. If enough people vote Gravel, others will start saying, "Wow, this guy was so different from the front runners, and he's gotten that many votes. Maybe we should look into this..."
Please do whatever you can. Donate to his campaign and/or the National Initiative, buy his book due out next week, talk to other people about his candidacy and the National Initiative.
Please, please, please. If you support what Mike Gravel is doing, his campaign, the National Initiative, please help him become OUR MILLION DOLLAR MAN by President's Day, January 21st, 2008! Please donate. Show your love!!!

Ron Paul give money back from a decent supporter? Do the other candidates ever get asked if they are going to distance themselves from Jewish supremacist groups like the ADL? AIPAC? Will Obama distance himself from black vested interest and advocacy groups like United Negro College fund and Naacp? How many members of the NAACP have sent money to Obama? How many Jews in the myriad Jewish advocacy groups have sent money to Hillary? How much from LA RAZA? Why are these questions not being asked?
Man, Mike Gravel is as popular and cool now as Jesus Christ during his time. All the folks who worship power and money see him as a thorn in their sides. I admire Mike's tenacity and appreciate his matter of fact answers.
The other thing Paulers needs to know is their man refuses to debate Mike one-on-one. So, if you like Mike enough to check his stuff out, tell your guy to step up to the plate. He's too big for that now is he - but Gravel is a man who changed the course of American history. I wanna see the debate.
If it's true, I wouldn't be surprised if it was simply because Paul doesn't see Gravel as a serious contender for the presidency, but it would be interesting to see.
Mike Gravel and Ron Paul will be having an open one-on-one public discussion tonight at Franklin Pierce Law School in NH. I'll be going --- I'm going to attempt to tape the whole thing --- and then put it up on you-tube. If I don't get it up, I'm sure someone else will --- search it out in the following days. . . .
Mike Gravel was ill last night so he back out of joining Ron Paul last night at Franklin Pierce College :( Wish they would do a 'kitchen table" conversation and post it on the web . . . the fans are hungry!!!
Dear Paulers - Gravel is not pro-Federal Reserve - he would leave that up to the people to decide. He wants to update the constitution so people participate in democracy directly. I say, it's about time. He also strikes me as a great humanitarian. He could truly help bring world peace through his leadership, whereas Paul would take a more hands-off approach. Gravel is the one!
I'm a Ron Paul supporter, because of his economic policies, but Mike Gravel is the only man on either stage I personally admire.
Gravel, thank you for everything you stand for. I'm aware of some serious policy disagreements between you and Paul, such as immigration, but nothing would make me happier than that ticket. I hope you would consider it if offered.
Dismantling the federal gov't will lead to rampant corporatism. If you really think Nike, Pepsi, Bechtel, and Halliburton will regulate themselves, and look out for you when you're too old or sick, then you're supporting the right candidate in Ron Paul. Paul is blunt and honest, exceptional and praiseworthy qualities, but amputating our gov't infrastructure will just make the money-to-power ratio more exact, not less. So if you're super-rich, then vote for Paul. Gravel 08.
Corporations have power from gov't bias. They lobby for candidates and then the politicians give the corporations benefits. Look up Ron Pauls views on free market. (P.S. Mike is great too!)
Ron Paul would bring on the age of corporatism? Please. The most despicable profit machine in the US is in its government.
RP would like to reduce federal government to the point where there are no loose funds for corporate interests. He wants to eliminate the Fed, the Departments, and the IRS. He would downgrade the CIA to merely intelligence, rebuke preemptive war, and restore transparency. That is not corruption.
Because while Mike Gravel is definitely the best candidate on the Democratic side, he isn't for eliminating the Federal Reserve, and his views on border control, gun rights, and other key issues are largely unknown by the majority of people.
Hey. I like this guy! I am a Ron Pauler.....but i immediately sense some integrity here....i will look into him further...damb the MSM for not telling us about authentic alternatives!
Truth is the foundation of good government. The bush government has been founded on lies.People say Mike is to honest to win.I disagree the only reason Mike wont win is if the American people dont value honesty and leaderhip qualities that a truly great President must possess.Vote for honesty and make America great again.Vote for Mike.
Poor Mike Gravel he is probably Americas best hope however he just is not electable. He Speaks the Truth so harshly people would rather simply deny it then vote for him. Thats why im pulling for Ron Paul I would love to see Paul/Gravel 08 that would be a dream come true
They instead presume to pre-select who the People will hear the most about, and find excuses for doing it, like corruption, I mean who raised the most money... or just through a big event.

It means he sat in the same chair for the whole damn thing. And yeah, he's ugly. He's an old man who can't pronounce shit - that's why he's going to crush everything.
Without any corporate money Mike is doing great videos to spread his word around. They are afraid of what Mike is saying of their uncontrolled and merciless greed. People are hearing of Mike more and more.
I would love to see this man in office but most Americans dont even think Gravel is still in the running. I've heard his plans for running the country, but first he has to get elected. What's his plan now? Does he really expect to win by campaigning over the internet?
i like so many of mikes ideas, but doesnt anyone remember what was talked about in the federalist papers? the rule of the mob, democracy, and the fine balance that our government holds with it? i love the Republic that is america. and it seems to me to not be broken in such a way that a change into a part-mob rule nation is neccesary, as mike seems to think.the founding fathers discussed the disastorous possibilities that would arise from a direct democracy.
oh,im voting for Ron Paul because hes opposed to regional government,"free-trade" which HURT america by the very nature of the agreements, because of the VAT tax which is used in almost all major countries EXCEPT the US. i could list so many more reasons.. its sad that Gravel has been excluded though, i loved seeing him in the debates, getting the truth to the people. i respect him so much but cmon, he has no chance to win against hillary and obama.RP has at least SOME chance
Mike Gravel "does" want a change, not as other presidential candidates (Ron Paul) for example who talks and keeps on talking B.S , which he wont apply, Mike is really working for freedom, marihuana laws reformation ,gay rights and other important motives we need to fight for?
Do we really need a cop coming to our house and invading our privacy? u tell me, if ur answer is no, ud better vote for gravel08 ...
I really appreciate the way you have stood up to the bogus war on drugs, but I wish you would have spent more of your energy presenting ideas instead of calling all the other candidates phony... It made you look "crazy" and that's why you're now out of the picture... I appreciate you.
Mike... I don't have money to give, I have never voted... I have never seen a candidate such as yourself. It's funny, you speak like me. Talk is cheap, and so cheap is talk, you have words of wisdom that could bring this nation to an awakening that has been so much needed.
I'm supporting John Edwards because he can carry my state of Kentucky and if Kentucky goes democrat like it did this November electing Steve Beshear we can unseat the biggest asshole in the Senate Mitch McConnell.

Gravel 08.
jmurray789 4 years ago
Corporations have power from gov't bias. They lobby for candidates and then the politicians give the corporations benefits. Look up Ron Pauls views on free market. (P.S. Mike is great too!)
strongsibby 4 years ago
Ron Paul would bring on the age of corporatism? Please. The most despicable profit machine in the US is in its government.
RP would like to reduce federal government to the point where there are no loose funds for corporate interests. He wants to eliminate the Fed, the Departments, and the IRS. He would downgrade the CIA to merely intelligence, rebuke preemptive war, and restore transparency. That is not corruption.

why are there so many ron paulers? he's not that great. he's better than the rest of the republicans, though...
beatlesareawesome 4 years ago 10
Because while Mike Gravel is definitely the best candidate on the Democratic side, he isn't for eliminating the Federal Reserve, and his views on border control, gun rights, and other key issues are largely unknown by the majority of people.

Truth is the foundation of good government. The bush government has been founded on lies.People say Mike is to honest to win.I disagree the only reason Mike wont win is if the American people dont value honesty and leaderhip qualities that a truly great President must possess.Vote for honesty and make America great again.Vote for Mike.
johndownunder 4 years ago 3
Poor Mike Gravel he is probably Americas best hope however he just is not electable. He Speaks the Truth so harshly people would rather simply deny it then vote for him. Thats why im pulling for Ron Paul I would love to see Paul/Gravel 08 that would be a dream come true
andyp530 4 years ago
(1)
He's electable. That's not the problem.
That's the way the media frames it, but it's a ruse.
The reality is, that he, like Ron Paul, have not been given a fair shake by the media.
Instead of the media doing it's proper role in a democratic society of informing the People of their options and then allowing them to make a choice,
HatTricksInc 4 years ago 3
(2)
They instead presume to pre-select who the People will hear the most about, and find excuses for doing it, like corruption, I mean who raised the most money... or just through a big event.
Democracy?
I'd laugh, but I think I'll cry.

Without any corporate money Mike is doing great videos to spread his word around. They are afraid of what Mike is saying of their uncontrolled and merciless greed. People are hearing of Mike more and more.
Mike is going to be our next President.Peace.

I would love to see this man in office but most Americans dont even think Gravel is still in the running. I've heard his plans for running the country, but first he has to get elected. What's his plan now? Does he really expect to win by campaigning over the internet?
Valerian1 4 years ago
You make a good point. But wouldn't people still think he were running if he were mentioned in any press, invited to any debates?
The media cut him out of the loop long ago, and when he was still part of it, they gave him scraps.
If you want people to know he's still running, THE PEOPLE, his supporters, will have to make him heard.
A prime example of this is, hate to say it, Ron Paul.

i like so many of mikes ideas, but doesnt anyone remember what was talked about in the federalist papers? the rule of the mob, democracy, and the fine balance that our government holds with it? i love the Republic that is america. and it seems to me to not be broken in such a way that a change into a part-mob rule nation is neccesary, as mike seems to think.the founding fathers discussed the disastorous possibilities that would arise from a direct democracy.
genius3029 4 years ago
oh,im voting for Ron Paul because hes opposed to regional government,"free-trade" which HURT america by the very nature of the agreements, because of the VAT tax which is used in almost all major countries EXCEPT the US. i could list so many more reasons.. its sad that Gravel has been excluded though, i loved seeing him in the debates, getting the truth to the people. i respect him so much but cmon, he has no chance to win against hillary and obama.RP has at least SOME chance
genius3029 4 years ago
The "mob rule" they were concerned about was ordinary people doing things like voting down slavery.
Who is this "mob" you fear? Your fellow citizens? do you fear them more than a handful of power hungry people that run things now?
Do the Swiss suffer from mob rule?
gmfutube 4 years ago 4
Mike Gravel "does" want a change, not as other presidential candidates (Ron Paul) for example who talks and keeps on talking B.S , which he wont apply, Mike is really working for freedom, marihuana laws reformation ,gay rights and other important motives we need to fight for?
Do we really need a cop coming to our house and invading our privacy? u tell me, if ur answer is no, ud better vote for gravel08 ...
cada420 4 years ago 5
I agree. If you needed more proof he went bankrupt trying to keep the National Initiative up. Most politicians sigh and and let it die.

Mike... I don't have money to give, I have never voted... I have never seen a candidate such as yourself. It's funny, you speak like me. Talk is cheap, and so cheap is talk, you have words of wisdom that could bring this nation to an awakening that has been so much needed.
