"...according to Dr. Eelco Rohling, the world could reach 560ppm (of CO2) by 2100...560ppm would melt all Arctic ice, and later the Antarctic. Rohling said that once the Antarctic melts, sea levels would rise 60m-70m and 'the planet will reach an ice-free state.' "
---Scientific American 6 Dec 2011
So, according to Hansen the planet has been ice free for most of its history, since CO2 has been at higher levels than today for the past 4.5 billion years.
I don't get why this idiot thinks America is the source of the world's CO2 problem. For anyone ignorant to this fact, most developing and underdeveloped countries are the source of CO2, and it comes from coal burning. He may have been silenced, and thats bad, but America cannot change global warming because we are a small portion of the CO2 that is and will be coming from India and China, especially after their industrialization stage.
Poor countries are looking at developed, such as America. If America won't start to reduce CO2, why poor countries should do that? That's how they think.
Oh, so if America stops, everyone else will? Im sure you can understand the flaw...America has zero credibility (I believe senator Biden was first to point this out) in the international atmosphere(no pun intended).
U.S. temperature records from the Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) displayed a discontinuity around the year 2000. NASA corrected the data and reported that "data for 2000 and later years were inadvertently appended to USHCN data for prior years without including the adjustments at these stations that had been defined by the NOAA National Climate Data Center."
The correction resulted in a slight(0.15 degree C)decrease in U.S. average temperatures post-2000, and 1934 replaced 1998 as the warmest year in the U.S. Note that the years have changed rankings before: in a 2001 paper 1934 was marginally warmer than 1998.
Congressman Darrell Issa questioned Hansen's motivations in criticising the Bush administration, noting that he supported 2004 Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry and also received a $250,000 Heinz Environment Award from the Heinz Foundation, run by Kerry's wife, in 2001.
I want this video on my SL80 unit.

You are incorrect on the facts. And you are calling Hansen an idiot? If you wish to be taken seriously try by not using ad hominem attacks.

Hansen was silenced, Miskolczi was probably silenced (I just don't know his story). On what it can depend?

Imhotepintheflesh: "Congressman Darrell Issa questioned Hansen's motivations in criticising the Bush administration"
And what Hansen answered?
Imhotepintheflesh: "received a $250,000 Heinz Environment Award from the Heinz Foundation, run by Kerry's wife, in 2001."
Hansen said: "the Heinz Environment Award is
an award that is named for John Heinz, a Republican Senator from Pennsylvania."
And Mr. Souder said: "I understand... It is not from Theresa Heinz directly or from John Kerry directly."

And whole video too.
Parts of that video with Hansen's testimony about climate change you can find in my collection.
