  • This is a beautiful song! -Zach Jonesmay @ OnlineBookStores

  • @burnrainbows wow i wrote that comment 10 months ago you almost got cussed out but i feel sorry for ignorant people so ill dumb it down for you its sad marilyn died so young she was a good person an this is a tribute to her, her beauty, an to what a good person she was i don't see how you can dislike that an furthermore you say the people who disliked this video are entitled to there own views but call me a idiot for mine so in return are calling your self a idiot which i agree LAWYERED : )

  • This video went viral on Yaounde

  • ETERNA...

  • women nowadays dont have the class that marilyn monroe had, who the hell is megan fox compared to this women?

  • I've been on a Marilyn Monroe kick today on youtube, and this tribute was the best version of Candle in the Wind, with the best combination of pics and vids. Good Job whoever made this!! :-)

  • he played at my local stadium in huddersfield and i won 2 free tickets and i gave them away id ather watch paint dry

  • @DAJAZDJ1 You need to die in a ditch, an get raped by a unicorn's horn

  • Hardcase says u bitch what a low life you are your damn life must be bad & if it isn't it should be punk

  • shes beautiful

  • what do u guys think Overdose or Murdered?

  • i didnt think marilyn should be a role model until i read her biography. she's a rolemodel definitely and more woman with more brains than any of them. she had an amazing survival instinct. she deserves to be an icon. there's much more to her than whats on the surface.

MUCH MORE than a pretty face. she's a real woman, inside and out. as normal as any of us, possibly stronger. R.I.P. !!!

  • Does it surprise anyone that Elton John saw Marilyn Monroe more than sexual? Actually, it suprises me that he saw her sexual at all.....MARY!!!

  • @PlanTonto HE'S A FAG THATS WHY

  • @DAJAZDJ1 True, but that's one fag that will always be richer and more succesful than you could ever imagine.

  • First, he sung this for Marilyn Monroe, then he sang it for Lady Di. Word is that he is preparing a new one for Khadafi...

  • always a classic.

  • My mom thought it was about Lady Diana i said

    1. Lady Diana died after he made this song

    2. Norma Jean is Marilyn's name

    3. He says Marilyn in the song once

  • @strumpanzerwagena7v Awwww, give your mom some credit, she just got confused with the one that he dedicated to Princess Di after she died....Same tune, different lyrics...give her a big, big hug for me!

  • RIP Norma Jean

  • Maj fejvrit :D

  • amazing song

  • I didn't loose all respect for Elton John. I just didn't like that he "took" the song away from Marilyn. They were two different women. It fit Marilyn...but not Princess Diana. That's just my humble opinion. I can't put myself in Elton's shoes and have no right to judge him. He is an amazing talent.

  • I agree with you fiftieslover. And, I SO agree with you Bianca! I loved both MM and Princess Diana. They were so different, he did an injustise imho. I have one question. I have been a fan forever, so I'm a bit embarrassed. What color were her eyes????? katyrus@live.com. Thank you so much! Oh, and I think MM would have changed Elton had he met her!! lolol!!!!

  • she would have been beautiful bald.

  • Hollywood Superstar Marilyn Monroe and Princess of Wales Lady Diana both deserve the tribute of Sir Elton John.

  • thoughts of you on your anniversary... x

  • I don't find anything wrong with what Elton chose to do with his music. He wrote what he wrote about Marilyn long before the tragic death of Diana....and he and Diana were friends. I don't think that his rearrangement of the song was a publicity stunt. He was visibly sad while performing it at her funeral. I think that he should be entitled to grieve in his own way, and this song seems to be his vehicle for letting out his sad emotions. God bless him for honoring both these fabulous women.

  • Elton wrote the song, he should be able to change a few words for his best friend who lived a tragic life.

  • @8DSummerrr And anyone who likes Aisha leads an even more tragic life.

  • omg get over it. the norma jean version was a single, like any other song. the princess diana version was written for her funeral ONLY and he has never performed it since.

  • You are all right, this is Marilyn Monroe's song, but in an interview Elton John said he had this song rewritten for Lady Diana's funeral because she had asked him to if anything should happen to her. Lady Diana loved this song.

  • BEAUTIFUL<!

  • linda maravilhosa inesquecivel fã

  • she was beautiful and there will always be one Marilyn Monroe

  • Marilyn Is The Proof Fiction Is Not On The Screen!

  • Mary Is The Proof Fiction Is Not On The Screen!

  • she looks gorgeous at 0:01 - 3:47

  • The song at the end that's cut off, what is it?

  • @PrepJunkiee85026 Its called Bad Day by Daniel Powter. Its a good song, not sure why it is at the end tho. Thanks for the info on the photo witoverignorance

  • 469 from me.

    Jakarta, Apr 24 2011, 10.20 AM

  • beautiful woman,sad she's gone.Bless her soul.x

  • she is beautiful! To bad the Kennedys had to get to her!

  • how good is elton?

  • @wcefan100 I hope that's a rhetorical question.

  • Where can I find out the name of the photograph/ photographer who took the picture at 1:50? It is stunning!

  • @oohaargh The photographer is Bert Stern and the photo session is known as "The Last Sitting".

  • I've never seen a more beautiful woman in my life. She's just flawless en every way. Can someone invent a time machine so i can go back in time to see this angle on earth. PLEASE!!!!!!

  • she always has a beautiful smile ..she was perfect !

  • to the 11 people that disliked this video what kind of monster are you

  • @151320141 WTF DID SHE DO FOR THEWORLD YOU IDIOT THIER NOT MONSTERS THERE INTITLED TO THERE OWN VIEWS

  • 411 peoples candles burned out just like their brains

  • I love the opening scene of her. I like the whole video, but it's something about that scene.

  • Marilyn Monroe was and always will be beautiful.

  • I disagree, the world needs more beauty, not less.

  • @TheJoeyD27 Dorothy Stratten is extremely beautiful as well and she has the an amazing quality about her just like Marylin Monroe did, you are very correct! Why must all the beauties leave us so soon. The world needs more beauty not less.

  • Very nice video for a tribute to the person Elton really wrote this for. Marilyn has more class in her little finger that Britain's pampered and spoiled princess had in her whole body. No wonder even a great song-smith like Elton had to recycle a song in tribute to Di.

  • There was nothing stylish, sophisticated, elegant, beautiful or respectable about marilyn monroe's life.

The reason some people cling to her memory is because they would find her slightly less tasteful they classed her as a whore or slut.. (would ruin the fantasies..) so the male dominated media put her in a different category so that she would have a lasting fan base of infatuators rather than just people that are interested for 5-10 minutes.. (Varying)

    ^ true story.

  • Dorothy Stratten has been called Canada's Marilyn Moroe.

  • @TheJoeyD27 HAHAHAHAHA THAT'S A LAUGHT, NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS...NOBODY WILL EVER COMES CLOSE TO BEING OR RESEMBLE OR LOOK, ACT AND BE AS THE SEXIEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD, THE LATE MARILYN MONROE....NOBODY...

  • @HerecomesLori i very much agree and im female. <3 her even if she was way before my time (i just turned 21)

  • "Hollywood created you a superstar and pain were the price you paid!"

Omg, I always starts to cry when I hear that sentence in the song!

I love Marilyn Monroe! No one can ever over shine her, no one. She is the one and only Marilyn Monroe/Norma Jean Baker.

  • The true Bomb Shell DIVA off all times.

    Thank you Love D!!LOLOLO!!

    AlwaYS!

  • so beautiful

  • This video made me view her life and death in a far different way, it's very moving. This version of "Candle in the Wind" is my favorite....was version is it called?...it isn't the same on itunes.

  • @bsulli85 The version on iTunes is most likely the version he rewrote when Princess Diana died, those are the only two versions of this song I know Elton John did himself.

This is the original version, written in 1973 to honor Marilyn Monroe, 11 years after her death. The song was redone to honour Pricess Diana at her funeral in 1997.

  • RIP Marilyn

  • @AlexanderJayxo you actually made me cry. I was 5 years old when she died, that day is frozen in my mind forever............god, such a short life.

  • @duesenbergmj Aw. Sadly I wasn't even born from what I've seen and read she was an amazing complex character far more than the dizzy bimbo hollywood made her out to be

  • Hardcase says, you have the right take on her--she had class, and a lot of it--to bad she had to mess around with the Kennedy's THEY were bad news but she didn't know it. They got what they deserved

  • And all I can do is hope that we`ll meet in the place where you always should`ve been. Goodbye Angel, Goodbye till I`m known to you and you`re known to me...

  • Angel

    Norma Jeane,

You were born in the world of pain, where no one saw an angel like you before

What they all saw was just the great shadow of a heavenly soul.

They were only seeing Marilyn Monroe.

And that made you suffer so much, as much as the Lord took you back, back to where you belong, leaving this world without its greatest light.

  • @fiftieslover faggot

  • @tynanb1 don't you have anything better to do than pickin up on a 14yrs old teenager?

  • Hey everyone! My name is Phill I`m 14 and I`m from Romania. I discoverd the legend of Marilyn Monroe when I saw her playing in "Some Like It Hot". Ever since then I keep reading thing about her and wathcing her movies. I was so touched when I read the story of her life that I made a poem for her. It`s Called "Angel"

  • Comment removed

  • i know her in spirit! luv.

  • T.T

  • Those baby pictures of her are so precious... it breaks my heart we lost her so young...

  • Omg, I always starts to cray, enormously! I love Marilyn Monroe <3

  • They killed her--figure out who they are?? A suicide give me a break-a very young actress who died way to young- I do not remember her but I like watching her movies and with Tony Curtis just passing---oh well!!

  • @TheWetguy1973 obviously you do not know about her life. She was abandoned by her mother and moved from foster home to foster home and apparently was molested. And later in her life she became addicted to drugs and alcoholic. I really do think suicide is the more likely cause of death. Not everything has to be a conspiracy.

  • What is there left to say expect, Rest In Peace.

  • Beauty such a popular topic. The people chose Marilyn Monroe, a childish blond one time as "the example".

  • i love this its so beautiful

  • i like this song when he sings it to princess diana; england's rose.

  • israel friend, naomi watts, will probably get to play her. a no presence, comedic or musical talent actor gets to play the most dynamic and sensitive actress in showbiz because of AIPAC.

they'll paint miller as a victim to his meal-ticket wife, despite the fact that like most jewish american men, he hated his mother so much he couldn't write for women. "the misfits" roslyn was a collage of tabloid obscenities and a prop for the male characters.

norma-jean even made fun of the title.

  • They killed her with her love... "That's how it is everyday... all over the world."

  • @OnePigFlew the green mile, amazing book

  • this is the best version ever, englands rose is no match for it, r.i.p in marylin & diana

  • Thanks so much. June 1st would have been Norma Jeane's 84th. When Marilyn died that day the world some how changed. This is one time that I am glad I'm old enough to remember. Don't ask.

  • This is a great pic tribute to Marilyn♥ L♥ve her & it ^_^

  • great work!

  • make me melt everytime..

  • Perfect music and very great video! Thank you for sharing!

  • One of the best videos I've seen!!!

  • MARILYN R.I.P.A LEGEND.XXX

  • good

  • she was naturally beautiful coz on that time there was no plastic surgery or all things that we have today that's why she's a legend

  • @Birushya she was very beautiful that's true. BUT there was a plastic surgery that time. And SHE DID A PLASTIC SURGERY of her nose and her chin!

    RIP MM

  • I am a HUGE Marilyn fan and I was so hurt when Elton John took HER song and changed some lyrics when Princess Diana died and just gave it away like here no ones using this anymore, like it meant nothing.

  • @BiancaEstrella303 I kind of agree, Marilyn and Diana are both my idols, and I feel that maybe he should of wrote a new song for Diana? Because in all honesty this was Marilyn's <3

  • @BiancaEstrella303 I'm a huge Marilyn fan too. When Elton was asked to play at her funeral as her friend, he didn't have time to write and record and he had some writers block. It wasn't like his tribute to Marilyn meant nothing. They both meant the world to him. I'm also a Diana fan too. I think both songs are beautiful.

  • @BiancaEstrella303

Yeah... I agree. I lost all respect for Elton John after that. This song belonged to Marilyn. And no one else.

  • @BiancaEstrella303 Umm... Sir Elton was grieving, Princess Di was one of his closest friends... how hard would it be to write a completely new song under those circumstances? I'm not trying to be ugly, but I don't think your comment is entirely fair. Also, Sir Elton has said he will never perform the Princess Diana version publicly again- unless either Prince William or Harry request it, while he still continues to perform Marilyn's version.

For the record, I like both versions. :)

  • This beautifu lady was here for awhile and gave us all she had. Thanks for the video. 5 *****

  • I almost cried,,,,I love Marilyn Monroe

  • nicely done you have my respect 10 + :D

  • who dont love marlilyn monroe ????

    really no body

  • this song reached my heart. im crying my eyes off now! :*(

  • I love Marilyn Monroe. She was so lost and misunderstood. And USED..... I sure wish the ____________ hadn't killed her.... Sad story.

  • That picture at 1:56 is beautiful where did you get it?

  • seeing pictures of her makes me happy :D

  • How can U compare Lindsay Lohan with a legend like Marilyn Monroe?0_o

  • @Thebraids

Whop would ever be that crazy?!

  • @ Thebraids elle était sans talent et laid!

  • @Thebraids this may be a stupid question but is marilyn monroe norma jean? im sorry i feel sooo stupid fo asking this haha

  • @peopleperson235 Don't feel stupid.Yes, Marylin Monroe is a pseudonym, her real name was Norma Jean Baker.

  • @Thebraids ohhh ok thanks. i asked my dad and he said that they were 2 different ppl

  • @Thebraids Ya can't.

  • @Thebraids so right u cant!

  • @Thebraids Ello! I am Lindsay Lohan!

  • Please don't compare Lindsay Lohan to Marilyn Monroe. They're nothing like each other.

  • Really well said!

Linsday Lohan is nothing like her at all, they are nothing to compare.Marilyn is a legend and Linsday is tragic.

  • I Love Marilyn Monroe and I like this vidio very much..wonderful Tribute..

  • her real name when she dided was marilyn monroe she chnged it so there wasnt this hole her realname shit she was calle marylin monroe and she chose it from her fav actres and her grandmother x

  • La bonde platine magnifique....

Hautetfort ta beauté magique me transporte dans les étoiles....

  • She is part of my life.....I desperately wish I would have met her. Her entire life was so tragic. Marilyn remained a very insecure person all her life long, even if the crowd loved her. She died as she lived. Alone.I am lucky to have a family. She had no one. Thats the stuff legends are made of.

  • She was unique. no other actress can be compared to her beauty, her smile, her attraction and the impression she left in my life............I love her since I was a little girl........

  • i<3her

    she was so gorgeous!

  • rofl, marilyn monroe's real name was norma jean baker!

  • I would have loved to have met Marilyn. She was invented Glitz and Glamour. =)

  • i love Marilyn, she was so beautiful and talanted woman:(

  • one word : GlAmOrOuS ~

  • At the end it's Bad Day by Daniel Powter

  • Norma Jean este admirabila.Marilyn Monroe este simbolul frumusetii,va ramane vesnic in sufletele noastre ca si o stea care nu cunoaste apusul !
