  • @NilStalker Thanks! hah

  • I wonder if you could experiment with instruments from across the world especially the upbeat indian classical tabla, arab / african drums. You may take notes from Claude Challe, Karunesh, Prem Joshua to make melancholic fusion music.

  • @thefraternityshop That sounds interesting. I will check them out!! Thanks for watching.

  • @gutteral07 Thanks

  • what do u use to record?

  • @JacksonzRulez For guitar equipment, I use MESA 4x12, w/ Triple Rectifier. 7 string les paul guitar, for delay sounds (vintage deluxe memory man). Recorded in a studio, w/ protools setup.

  • You sound good..but you'd sound alot better if you had a well balanced amp. Elmwood, Plexis, Diezels, Suhrs...anything over a recto for instrumental stuff.

You don't like other amps? Or you just prefer the recto tone? To each their own and if you can play..YOU CAN PLAY through anything but you can sound alot better. Try doing some sweep arpeggios through a recto. Just doesn't work. I have no clue why Petrucci still plays them, no one else does...not in Shred or Instrumental.

  • @PinkyWontWork I have played Diezels and owned the Engl powerball which to me had the same setup and german parts and sounds as the VH4. They were just a little sterile to me, not as crushing and musicial overtones / warm as the Triple Rect. Triples can sound bad if you scoop them, I don't, I keep the bass low and mids up a bit. You can also get more of a diezel type sound by switching to spongy. For plexi sounds I like the clean / pushed switch, can get sounds like a Dumble / Plexi

  • Killer stuff..added you as a friend, subscribed and all that but..you need to get rid of that Mesa garbage. Get a real amp man..a killer guitar should have a killer amp. Not that scooped, 14 year old, bubblegum music rectifier.

  • @PinkyWontWork Thanks, you must not have not tried all of the modes of the Triple Rectifier. The Modern scoop setting is just a fraction of what it can do. It's the best all around head and more power than anything else out there. Trust me, I have owned them all! What kind of sound are you looking for or head do you like? I get anything from Eric Johnson, SRV, John Petrucci, Metallica sounds from it.

  • @markb583 I've been playing them all and messing with them since early 90s. I even bought a Roadster which to me is the best Mesa rectifier. It was great for Metal rythmn but that was it..just too scooped to get the right tones out of good instrumental and melodic playing. You need good mids for that..look at Petrucci he's the only top shredder that uses Mesa but he has a 3 ton rack to go along with it. I guarantee you..you'd sound alot fuller and rich without a recto.

  • @PinkyWontWork The thing I didn't like about the Diezel / Engl setup was the warm vintage channel couldn't get saturated enough for Eric Johnson sounds. The Triple has so much gain and saturation when on the vintage / channel. I agree that it is hard to "shred" or sweep sometimes on a triple at low volumes, but you have to be cranked up and it works better at stage volume or by dialing back bass, treble / presence. These days for different style gigs the triple can get me more sounds I like.

  • @PinkyWontWork It still would be nice to own a Diezel Herbert, mainly for the amazing cleans and a different type of gain sound for recording. I look out for them locally from time to time. I like a lot of Suhr players too and their sounds, but with my 7 string les paul the Triple just works best for me. Thanks for your input, later.

  • @66naut Thanks, you too!!

  • @MrDarinWarren Good ear, it's a 2004 Triple Rectifier. I like those better than the reborn ones, which I just sold. Thanks for watching.
