  • Man i really wish i could get a copy of the 1983-86 closing theme and the 1986-89 open and close themes

  • @willjarmon Clean theme or like you're watching the show?

  • Elaine should've become a game show model. She has that look to be one.

  • yeah like one of bob barker's beauties

  • When was this video recorded?

  • This game was a good one. The match these players played was good entertainment as well. Elaine continued to dominate the game, Rhona didn't make the most of her second chance & Jim did a good job; his guts were there but not his luck. Somethings may be good such as bargains being bought but it takes the money saving portion out of it for prizes. Sale of The Century is an exciting game & this was another generic but exciting episode. I'll give it 3.5 stars for bland but not-so bland.

  • this is just my opinion, but sale of the century's main weakness has always been the fact that the format gets cheaper and cheaper the longer it's on (not counting temptation.)

(in factsome users posted comments saying that they were expecting the stakes to be high.

  • in the case of the WBMG, yes.

Even though you could still win $100K, at the same time, this endgame also proved that you could walk away with less as well.

  • imo, this kinda proved that players could still win big if they were to go all the way even with THIS endgame. (i say that because of her total at that point, had she won the next 3 games, and won the winner's big money game each time, her total would've almost definitely been over $150k (i say almost definitely because i'd need to know the value of the car to be able to figure that out.) (and not the exact value, mainly the thousands.) although i'm assuming it was worth much more than $23,000.

  • btw, i said that because added to the additional $60,000 she woulda picked up from those 2 winner's big money games her total woulda been $127,868. (and that's not including the other prizes that she would've won from winning those 3 matches.) (and i said 2 because the 7th one (the 1 inbetween the $10k and the $50k was played for a car.) (and if luck had been on her side, i would go as far as to say that there woulda been a slight chance of her breaking tim holleran's winnings record.)

  • i mistyped, i shoulda said if she HAD managed to win the car and the $50k, then depending on the value of the prizes that were awarded for winning the match on the 3 episodes following this one then there woulda been a chance of HER being the all-time biggest winner instead of tim holleran, (although i'm not too sure if it woulda been enough to keep the show on the air,

  • and now that i think about it, i don't know if it woulda lasted for another year, because the odds r that the viewers probably realized that the only reason her total was that high was because of the fact that she did a heck of a lot of buying,

  • and if she had done it, there's a chance that "sale" could've lasted for another year. (i say that because i know that the wbmg killed the show, BUT, i'm assuming that the main reason many people feel this way is because the viewers thought that this format was way too cheap. (big winners prior to that were guaranteed to walk away with well over $100k (but with this format players would be more likely to walk away with just over $100k.

  • LOL WUT

  • let me explain, had she went all the way and won the winner's big money game each time, her total would've almost definitely been over $150k

  • and depending on the value of the car, and the prizes that she woulda won for winning those next 3 matches, (assuming she didn't decide to buy anything, it could've even been over $160k

  • Thanks for posting this,I have beeen going crazy trying to remember the production company's name at The End of The show with The Big RG logo.Reg Grundy, thanx.

  • This is the show I remember from when I was younger, that had the interesting jingle at the end of it. The Reg Grundy jingle. I used to watch the reruns all the time on USA. I love their early 90's game show block to death.

  • I loved the 90's USA game show block too.

  • she was phenomenal

  • as far as her cash total is concerned, that's pretty obvious, (considering the fact that jim said her total was at $30,900 after she hit the instant cash for $3k

  • That was pretty damn good money back in 1988

  • Elaine looks so gorgeous!

  • Amen to that! What a cutie

  • @megamanj2004X NO KIDDING!

  • wow she is good
