Wooden was never asked to coach an Olympic team because the committees knew how he won all of those ncaa championships and it wasn't with Xs and Os. Wooden was a 53-year-old nobody before he sold out the UCLA basketball program to the notorious booster Sam Gilbert who then began buying up all of the greatest talent in the country. There should be a photo of Sam Gilbert permantly affixed at the top of Wooden's "Pyramid of Success". Wooden was a fraud who is somehow always shielded by the media.
I enjoyed a 20 minute presentation by coach Wooden 2 weeks ago, a motivational speech full of poetry and prose, as well as a Q&A session. Sure he's old, but right...
