Madan Mohan was one of our best (I keep going between him and Nausad) - you listen to Dastak or Haqeeqat, you know it. But I think, we as listeners, need to praise the lyricists - where would our musicians be without Kaifi Azmi, Sahir Ludhianvi or even Anand Bakshi? These people were not mere song writers - they were poets who vocalized deep emotions that ordinary mortals cannot, which also to me is the reason for the decline of the quality of Hindi movie music...
