While I am sure there are bad landlords let me say that there is just as many horrible tenants. It seems the "younger generation" has no idea how to clean or maintain. They leave rotting food in the frig, kool-aid and pet statins on the carpet, holes in the walls, broken windows, doors torn off the hinges. When you submit the list of damages it's always the same story. It was like that when I got here...THEN WHY DID YOU RENT IT. To be fair, many tenants are scam artists.
I just rented one of my rooms to a 20 yrs old control freak who thinks I sold her my house. I keep hoping she will hate the room and the area and get the Hell out of my house. One more, she have a history of mental illness n I found a bottle of vodka in her room.
...thats why in canada..they are not aloud to ask for a damage deposit -just first and last months..and you leave on the last months rent...so then its 0 to 0.
Where to start with mine .... six years of sleep and work prevention and that's a Housing Association. Perverting the course of justice, attempted entrapment, covert harrassment and contempt for causing extreme fatigue and poverty.
my landlord says I let the boiler freeze and it is beyond repair and I have to pay for replacement because of my negligence.
my story:
the boiler is old. The temperature control does not work so I could not use it. The freezing happen because it was two days after I discovered the leak and stop the water in the house when the engineer came to see and said the boiler is frozen now. He also said repair will cost 1/4 of the prise of a new boiler. There is a big hole on the wall behind the boiler.

Most MPs are also landlords so they will NEVER do anything about it.
I've had enough of it, I'm saving to buy a narrowboat, I'm never going to have to have my deposit stolen again.

It sounds to me like American Landlords and Property management Companies are just as BAD! Video before and after you move in.
