I do have a video version I was planning to upload. But this has been a busy month for me so - will try perhaps in the next few weeks. i hope the info helped. Thanks
Thank you ABCakes. Glad I could help. I attached the towers and turrets seperately. I made little holes in the place where the dowel will be attached then placed the tower with royal icing. ONce the towers were dry in place I used royal icing again to attach the turrets. The placement of the dowel is critical but you have to make sure you do not make the windows too large or else the dowels will be seen -
Thank you so much!! I've been looking for instructions on the towers for a few days, and yours are very detailed. I will try this soon. one thing I'm not that clear, is how to attach the towers to the cake, using the dowels? Also did you assemble the towers with turrets first, or do you place the towers first, then glue the turrets? Not sure if you have pictures of this step that you can share.
Thank you louweezzz! That you for the encouragement.
I am currently working on another castle cake and have been taking videos of the process.
I thought it would be better for people to view the video version unlike this slide show version. I'll post it around the 20th of may, probably late for you. I hope it will help the others but definitely look for it...
Let me know how you do, send me a picture by email..
this is the first video that has actually helped me!! been trying to work out how to do the towers for ages, hoping to get started on them tonight, thanksyou xx
