  • It gives me goosies when Dara speaks perfect Tagalog and because of the KPop hype, Tagalog language also receives attention from Kpop fans ^_^

A professor of mine once said that TagLish murders both the Filipino and English language. He said that if you want to talk in Tagalog, make it straight Tagalog; if it is in English, do the same as well..NEVER mix the two...ewan ko, siguro talagang bahagi na ito ng kultura natin.

  • i want to learn Tagalog,,When Dara speaks Tagalog,i'm so proud of her!

  • bakit parang mas gumaling yata sya magtagalog?

anyway, regarding the "tag-lish" thing, that's just the way most filipinos talk these days. sounds annoying sometimes. it's always better to hear straight tagalog or straight english. but "tag-lish" is easier, so people prefer using it. the disadvantage however, is that it gives the person using it less proficiency in each of the languages. & nobody can ever use it for formal communication.

  • Filipinos study the English language since preschool. It's a basic subject on any private or public schools there. so Filipinos are very used to speaking english on a daily basis. Geez is that too hard to believe? :/

  • Maybe it's just me but I think she made a conscious decision not to use much English whereas before, well in her documentary anyway, she would for the most of the time speak in English. I really felt for her when should couldn't understand what the host was saying from her SQC days and the woman kind of made fun of her! She deserves everything she achieves!

  • Why is it that most of their question is all about money? It only show how ignorant the hosts are.

  • Aww Dara looks so pretty ..^^

  • It's easier to speak in Tag-Lish than pure Tagalog... That's a fact! It's weird hearing people speak pure Tagalog. Haha if you only knew. We don't even notice we're mixing English & Tagalog... It comes naturally. I think Robin Padilla is the only man that doesn't sound weird talking pure Tagalog. LOL

  • english english english suddenlyy danbangangnagnagnagn english english danbnabnabna hahahahahahahah

  • 3:41 wanna be CL xD ... uhmm i love dara O= and rest of 2ne1

  • Famous wave!^.^

  • "I don't know where you guys can buy this? (In Philippines) But if you want to buy it go to Korea." HAHAHAH ohhh Sandy

  • the girl host is a singer, actress, and also a comedienne as well as the guy host. that kind of comments are only jokes in the Philippines. because many Filipinos are going outside of the Philippines so we can earn a bigger income. So that is why they ask if Sandara is already rich.

  • why the video in philippines so old n not medern ..... i not like ... the audience like silly n i not like if sandara park go to philippines..... idiot idiot idiot of philippines...

  • @centuti and i not like your english, and i not like your stupid grammar.. idiot idiot idiot..lol

  • Gotta love how they switch between english and tagalog easily. But the best at that are Singaporeans. They speak english mixed with malay, tamil and chinese.Dafuq xD

  • It is because of Sandy that this will be aired in a Korean Channel. oOopPss..I guess it has been already. :D

  • SANDY <3

  • I love how they switch from Tagalog and English so easily xD

    It's awesome, lmao.

  • @HIGSOFX The pride of FILIPINOS.

  • Geez the hosts were so sacarstic with their comments

  • cool.. she has a filipino accent and not korean when she speaks english..

  • my filipina colleague says Sandara is pretty huge in the Philipines

  • Tagalog isn't annoying. I've read from somewhere that Tagalog is like Latin. That was from an expert. I just can't remember where I've read it.Maybe the comparison is due to the flexibility of the Filipino language and that's what's good about it.After being colonized by different races and being from the Malay race, we were able to incorporate foreign languages with our own.If you're not a Filipino surely you will not get the complexity of it. I'm not boasting, just sayin what I know for a fact.

  • @xOxOmeiibOw Very well said. ^_^ . Filipinos indeed are flexible when it comes to the languages spoken. And Philippines (so far) is the 3rd placer among countries who speaks fluent English.

  • @xOxOmeiibOw and also many Tagalog words came from the Spanish words.

  • <3 !!!

  • No No Somalian language is annoying LOL

  • dara could speak filipono..? isn't she born at korea..?

  • @dpochan she was but she lived in PH for 12 years :)

  • @dpochan well, she lived in the Philippines for 12years and became a P-pop Singer, actress, comedian in the PH , sorry about that :P :)))))

  • @binnyboow she said 'maraming salamat' (thank you very much)

  • Wow what an interesting languge....I feel like I heard mixtures of spanish and english in it too.....omg I want to learn...

  • Comment removed

  • @blizzard217 because filipino language is a mixture of different languages making it very beautiful. and remember that philippines was once colonized by spain, america, and japan, that is why you can hear some spanish and english when filipino people speak.

filipino language is the philippines' national language and english is their secondary language, because everyone is like required to learn english due to globalization now.

((why am i speaking at the 3rd person case? i'm filipino too. LOL))

  • i want to learn the filipino language now it sounds nice!

  • well it IS a screen name, did you expect something more aesthetic? duh. and i like "duh" cos it works well with people like... you.

i'm not judging your education nor am i trying to contest you went to school at all. it just doesn't seem like it. it just doesn't *shrug*

  • @eharas

You sound annoying to me and you're writing in english. And what the hell are you doing watching a filipino show anyways? Dumb fuck!

  • Dish network doesnt have this channel D:

And i didnt know Dara lived in the phiippines o:

  • @Bernie23232323232323 :

It's called Taglish. Tagalog + English.

Idk why but for me, speaking only in Tagalog is WAAAY deep. .___.

  • @MsRainbowiee2315 i'm filipino,,but speaking in filipino is giving me a headache because just like what you said,,it's way too deep,,but that is the charm of the filipino language..

that is the reason why we use taglish so that we could express ourselves..

  • @pima813 Exactly LOL

  • How come they speak half english/half their language???

  • @bernie23232323232323 nobody speaks pure tagalog cause its hard, everybody speaks taglish...Tagalog - english and take note in correct gramatical form

  • @SuperAzkals So basically the words that are hard, they replace with English? They might as well just speak complete English if their own language is too hard.

  • @bernie23232323232323 Filipinos like their independence while they are capable of speaking enlish fluently well at least 70% of the population does they dont want to sound foreigners among their own people who were not able to go past grade school hence have a limited vocabulary in english. although Tagalog is a national language it is only spoken by 50% of people in the Philippines hence Taglish since English is much more understood by a lot of people more so than tagalog.

  • @SuperAzkals thanks for explaining

  • at least she can speak both fluently.

  • @karlitobangz That has nothing to do with my statement. The sun is yellow.....

  • @eharas Well that's still very rude to call someone's language 'annoying' and yes i do take offense to this because i'm filipino. k

  • @eharas maybe you cant speak in tagalog that's why you're just insulting it.......... hey no fights just telling the truth.......

  • @lovingtaylor10932 Hey I respect your honesty :) I do not know the language or any dialect from the Philippines but I am just being honest myself. It's not a romantic language that's all.

  • @eharas Tagalog is annoying to your ears but not to Sandara. Sandara has a universal approach. she can live anywhere else. Your mediocrity will bring you nowhere else but your backyard. Ignorance refuses to learn. Well....Sandara learned our language....fluently.

  • @aughreigh88 I do like my backyard but I have been a little further than that, as far as Paris actually. And you're completely twisting my comment as if I said something racist which I didn't. I have nothing against the Filipino culture, I actually embrace everyones culture but as far as being phonetically aesthetically pleasing it really isn't. I also have learned other peoples language, in fact fluent in three. I suggest you take a course in critical thinking ;)

  • @eharas you think paris is far enough already? go a little farther and maybe you'll learn some real education about being polite.

you have your right to opinion, but i don't think there's a phonetic aesthetic standard. maybe it sounds annoying to you because it doesn't make sense to you, duh.

  • @chickenshitt Well I live in California...a 20 hour flight is pretty far I would say. And I am really not going to take your comment seriously especially from someone whose screen name is "chickenshitt" or uses "duh" when their trying to make a point...

And I consider myself to be very polite and as far as judging my education that's just cheap. It sounds annoying because.....it is annoying.

Learn to read please and thank you :)

  • @eharas Woww! Critical thinking ha? You must have thought critically when you called a language you don't understand, ANNOYING?..YOU ARE SO POLITE!

And you have a way of underestimating others.

Well!...People here know and understand what they read that's why they react. So before you advise like we need it, read what you wrote and understand it.

And congratulations with your accomplishments! I believe you.........

  • @eharas how dare you say that! you can be biased with a person but never a language and a country. when you say that "TAGALOG IS SUCH AN ANNOYING LANGUAGE" its like saying Filipinos are annoying as well...

  • what i think is funny is how they asked about lee minho in this interview and the last one. bet they loved in when he was in the kiss mv with her lol

  • sometimes I'm just thankful that we were colonized by the americans or else we wouldnt have such amazing english accent.

anyway, Toni pasapak naman oh. one time lang! loka ka ah!

  • I NEVER KNEW SHE CAN SPEAK TAGALOG OMFFGGGG.

  • mukhang pera amp0ta wahahahaha..

  • naiinis ako ky Toni kasi parang plastic!!!!!...kainis!!!!!sarap sampalin...

  • she made the right choice here..lol she chooses jun pyo and see, they actually have a commercial together. they even kissed there. :D

  • Dara is probably the most fluent in english in 2ne1 but doesnt show it off, probably coz she has a Filipino accent lol. CL speaks it with a better accent so maybe thats why they let her do most of the talking. Bom has a thick Korean accent and a lisp, and Minzy barely speaks any english.

  • Isn't that CL's hat?? ^___^

  • this is really making me realize just how much tagalog sounds like spanish. a lot of the words are the same, which i guess would make sense cuz fillipinos are like chinese and spanish and other such races? culture and race really intruigues me. its interesting to know where everyone comes from and how races and cultures came to be =}

  • @JuleOfficial different cultures colonized the Philippines a long time ago, so that's why we Filipinos somewhat adapted to their culture and language

  • @0092Anon no she's not. she's full korean :)

  • My name is Dara, but im a boy.

  • <3

  • i love her so much!!! even though she went back to korea she's still fluent in tagalog :)

  • Sandara used to have a crush on Luis Manzano (the male host). ayiiiieeee! :">

  • Omg I wish I was in the Philippines 2 see this:(

  • is she originally from the phillipines? this is a cool video :P

I WANT AN AUTOGRAPHED CD!!! >:O

  • miss sandy so much..sayang CAREER ni Hero...

  • why they mix tagalog and english its confusing.

  • @gogosma because in the philippines english is a part of their language . if you go there it won't be hard to understand cuz they mostly speak english . they would be ashamed of themselves if they didn't know how to speak english

  • @gogosma because it's the way they speak there, mixing the two languages, it's a form of 'code-switching' or 'creole' even

  • @gogosma you know why?...because we have TagLish language here in the Philippines, "Tag" comes from Tagalog, while "Lish" comes from English...so TagLish for short...what is your nationality?if u don't mind...i have a suggestion for you, come here in Philippines, have a vacation, or it's best if you study English here, or not just only English but also Philippine History, so that you'll know our language more...oh but you can also study our history online, if you won't waste money..:)

  • haha i really miss sandy or dara.. wat ever..

    "in or out" haha LOL

  • shocks..ung troll ring..nakakita din ako nun kay KEY ng SHINee....

nagmatch tlga ung fashion sense ni KEY sa 2ne1 :))))

    love it!

  • elle a pas assure question dance a la fin de l'interview.

  • Easy easy. Mga pikon naman oh. The money thing was just a joke. Haha

  • Comment removed

  • WOW i didn't know dara could speak Filipino.. :)

  • The money thing was a joke. Even Dara asked something about wealth in one of her interviews for a Filipino channel. She asked, "Mayaman ka na ba?" (Are you already rich?), pertaining to her best friend in the Philippines, Joross (also an actor in the Philippines; a contemporary of Sandara Park).

People rushing into judgment and bombarding this video with racist comments against the Filipino people clearly show a lower kind of mentality than what they detest as "tacky, etc"

    Just my 2 cents.

  • why do they speak half english half philipines?

  • @BlueBloods23 You mean, Filipino? We call it "Taglish" here:

"Taglish is a portmanteau of the words "Tagalog" and "English" which refers to the Philippine language Tagalog (or its liberalized official form, Filipino) infused with American English terms. It is an example of code-switching." -- excerpt from Wikipedia

  • hahahahaha i'm eighty-one (at the end) XDD

  • OMG SHE IS PINOY?

  • @caspertoot a big NO.. she's pure korean.. she just happened to live in the philippines for quite a while...

  • I love how Dara rocks the hats :)

  • i like her hat.

  • Tag-lish ftw!! haha

  • @aNDe4STAR1 Hahaha. Oo nga eh super Tag-lish.

  • KOREANS ARE VERY WELCOME HERE IN PHILIPPINES! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

  • comments here are too effin redundant. wtf. lol

  • the hosts were just joking and dara knows that.... :)

  • it looks like dara looked awkward the whole time.

  • Dara so cute!!

    緊張的模樣好可愛><"

  • english is the second language of the Philippines... it's in our constitution!

  • Omg! she looks so naive and innocence. I like it!

  • wala ka dara.. X ka hahaha

  • Quick question... why are random sentences from the hosts in English?

  • @SirLachance cause most filipino people knows how to speak english fluently... and we are so use to putting english in our sentences every time we talk since its easier...

  • i had no idea that she speak tagalog

  • lol..what's up with all the "MONEY" comments??it's just normal or a joke...it's nothing serious..some are too narrow-minded..gosh..sandara is soo cute..

  • WTF Kind of question is that; how much money you make? 1mil, 2mil, and 3mil. LOL DARA I would of said the same thing: I'm Broke.

  • i was 13/14 yrs old during SCQ days when she auditioned there and became famous. and before i spent a lot of loads just to vote her coz i really2x like her.hahahah. time flies so fast now she's a popular korean idol!im sooo proud of u sandy! its all worth it. :D and oh, till now im still not used to her name DARA ...coz she's always my sandy/sandara.! fighting!

  • 1 million? 2 million?

    Hinde, wala akong pera. XD

  • aahh the language sounds so exotic! :D

  • The reason why they feel at home with Sandara is that here in the Philippines Sandara Park is not portrayed as a pop star she is a teen comedian here and singer, so the hosts might thought that Sandara will still feel at home with them, Yeah I've noticed Sandara's discomfort but it's not bcoz of the host, she's nervous to commit mistakes in speaking and understanding tagalog. Pls don't take it seriously.

  • @LoraCuyugan

    yah i agree!

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH. ang pambansang krung-krung. I'm Very proud of you DARA .

  • Also, this turned out as informal interview because everybody is comfortable with Dara since she's like a Filipino too. This led the hosts to ask so many questions.. I guess they're just happy to see and interview Sandara,.

  • I've noticed that there are similar comments in this video. Just want to share my answers too :) :)

Yes, it's normal for us, Filipinos, to speak Filipino and English at the same time. It can be considered as our second language. Others have noticed that there are Filipino words similar to Spanish. It is because we have a lot of loan words from Spanish because of our history.

Regarding Hosts asking money, it's just a fun banter or joke that I believe Sandara can understand too.

  • Luis was so funny when he bring up Hero and Joseph (these guys were the boys linked to Dara when she started her career in the PHL)

  • lol damn she fits so well with the filipinos

  • ey koreans..stop being so judgemental..please..visit philippines..then you'll appreciate why sandara love philippines..and about the money issues that the host they kept on asking sandara..it's a JOKE..maybe you won't understand..the joke unlike sandara she go with the flow with jokes they're telling DARA..cause she can speak philippines's language fluently..PEACE

  • ang galing nyang magtagalog..grabe..gosh, :D

  • and toni goes 'sandara park!!!!' then the audio goes 'i go by the name of cl by 2ne1'... haha... that is just so funny.

  • @sonofthehill And you're probably be some overfed, racist American who's never seen the world and never will.

  • The questions and comments were a bit.... awkward. Especially since I'm Filipino and could understand it all. Sandara had this sort of reluctant tinge to her voice. And what is with the random dance request? XD

  • Dara seems a little uncomfortable to me. I guess she just needed a little getting used to again. The Filipino audience is different from the Koreans so maybe that had to do with it

  • ☆2NE1 is the best K-Pop Girl Group ever! They are the solution to the Korean Music Industry. According to the amateur polls, they are the most influential and famous!

  • yung CL, kamuka talaga ni CL! hahaha ..

  • is not a bad thing. dara had been so close to them too thats why they take it too normal.

  • ikiss commercial dream come true...

  • it is not....it just question.. it is embrassing when i ask you how much pocket money did your mom gave you.... it is just our norm tsk tsk we filipino are unique... to god be the glory...

  • Haha love the end, dara thinking while dancing *aah i dunno CL's part*

  • I LOVE hOW lUIS SAID"siKAt NA SIkaT nahhhh,,,"HAHa

  • ANG gAliNg PAGkasabI nI ToNi NA sandara PARK UnG BACkgRoUND music ANG saBI"I Go By the name OF cl OF 2NE1..."anG GALiNg NamAN TALAGA./..

  • Sample daw. Tapos hindi man lang nila inantay sumayaw si Dara ng chorus. Nailang tuloy si Dara.

  • that's where she got her accent. :))

  • wew. dara andito ka na sa pilipinas ngayong 2011 but hindi mo pa rin sila dinadala. :(

  • why do they have to ask her something about MONEY...so not a good timming...they should have asked something about her LOVELIFe ^^

  • @keishak

lol! they are just making joke in a good way!

please dont take it as not good thing!

  • its so funny how everyone here was so amazed at how flips speak english and tagalog.

  • what's with the money thing???? wala na ba silang maitanong na iba???

  • Im filipino, but damn they did ask her too much about the money. shes barely a rising star and they act like she has millions. probably just has enough for food everyday. and they didnt even let her finish one of her questions lol. oh well. Sandara<3 2NE1 Hwaiting! <33

  • yeah we filipinos sometimes speak in tagalog- english or some called it '' Tag-Lish"

  • pakauwaw lang ang back up dancer ahaha!!!

  • wow interrupt her much?? she wasnt even done answering the questions. filipinos get soo starstruck.

  • what is it with filipinos and money? ughh. totally put her out there.. these "hosts" needs to be professional.

  • i bet she gets much lesser pocket money from the company, just enough to buy food i guess, korean companies are like that to their artistes..
