  • I remember seeing this at the theatre. It had been almost 25 years since I read the trilogy as a freshman. But when the teaser started, I thought, They damn well better get this right. When I saw that they had split it up into three movies, I knew they would. And they did.

  • just think... what if the first movie bombed in the box office... would the other two even have been released?

  • I don't know about you guys, but for me the video does indeed have a wrong aspect ratio. Everything's too wide.

  • What's The Song At the Ending?

  • @oscarxp25 lol i remember seeing this trailer or a similar trailer before watching the first harry potter. I was 7, very excited and very scared

  • any chance you could repost this masterpiece without it being distorted?

  • Distrorted... You mean the widescreen.... :)

  • @FilmTrailersChannel or it means "corrupted by the one"!

  • @FilmTrailersChannel No, I think he means the noticeable stretching :)

  • @highrollin2 Incorrect, this isn't a 4:3 trailer stretched, the film was actually filmed in 2.35:1 ratio, there is nothing wrong with this trailer.

  • @FilmTrailersChannel

what he means is that the aspect ratio is off.

  • @adafal Incorrect, this isn't a 4:3 trailer stretched, the film was actually filmed in 2.35:1 ratio, there is nothing wrong with this trailer.

  • @FilmTrailersChannel Yes, I know it was filmed in 2.35. I'm very well aware of 2.35 as it's my favorite aspect ratio. This isn't it.

Look at the New Line logo at the beginning. That's usually a perfect blue circle behind it, but it's noticeably ovaled. This copy of the trailer was original LETTERBOXED in 4:3. That letterboxed image was then stretched to 16:9. The image is stretched. It's not a big deal, but it is.

  • @highrollin2 Its not stretched, I pulled this this from the DVD as it is. Check at 0:12 , it is a perfect ring circle. Are you seeing black bars at the top and bottom of the video, if not, your YouTube player needs adjusting because is is being stretched to 16:9.

  • @FilmTrailersChannel Yes, the Ring at 0:12 is noticeably ovalled.

I know what 2.35 looks like and this is wider than that. Look at any other 2.35 trailer on here and look at the difference in thickness between the black bars on them, and the black bars here. They're supposed to be about half as thick.

I don't know why you can see it, but considering that I'm not the only noticing it, don't you think you're the one that's missing something here? It's stretched.

  • @FilmTrailersChannel It actually is stretched. Everyones YouTube player is 16:9 nowadays. If you uploaded it in 4:3, that explains it.

  • @highrollin2 - I'm just going to chime in on this little debate. There is absolutely no question whatsoever, this trailer is a little distorted. It's not horrible but it's definitely not in it's original form. It appears to be a little bit stretch horizontally. The New Line logo is the obvious giveaway.

I know for a fact because I've had an obsession with trailers for years and have them all on my computer. I'm looking at the original right now and this one is distorted by comparison.
