Everyone talks about Cobain or grohl's drumming. They forget that Novoselic came up with some of the greatest basslines. Lithium, Lounge act, Hairspray queen, Heart shaped box etc all have excellent basslines. You dont have to play like flea to be good on bass. sometimes the simpler stuff compliments the music more and Novoselic is very underated.

@h879xx Novoselic sucks at bass, try standing him up next to someone like Mike Watt or Matt Freeman or even Cris Kirkwood from the Meat Puppets - They are good bass players not Novoselic, all he does is root notes and nothing else with the exception of what you just listed.

"Neon Fossil Penguins Grow On Trees" Curt Kirkwood is amazing. It's a good thing the Puppets got back together so people my age (early 20s) can go see them and watch a true bass genius, Cris Kirkwood.
