Well I heard there use to be more proffesions, but there got to be way to much so they came up with these new updates known as the NGE and Pre-cu...or something like that, and it brought the proffesions down to size into 9 main ones with 4 classes for the trader.
SWG was not like it is now. It was much more complicated and much more the word being complex. You were not an iconic figure surpassing luke or vader in this you were a citezen in the galaxy. Combat was much more fun and crafting was as well. Crafters could experiment with items to see if they could make them better. There was also combinations of professions...Ah I remember it well...there was so much good about the game. SOE are real bastards putting their fans down like that.
Im downloading rite now and it says it will take either 6 hours or 6 minutes! im not that sure! but im frusterrated cause in 6 hours itll be 11:00... it sucks so so much.
Great video ! Love the Episode 3 references :) I can only imagine how angry all of the pre-NGE players were. I actually bought the game because I saw the old trailer "Over 30 different professions..." ...bullshit. I still play it though since I love the Star Wars universe and some aspects of the game seem really cool to me.

To the person that said you cant be a jedi on the Emulator server. Yes you can, there will be different servers that will use holocrons, some servers may use the village, some may not have any jedi at all. But there will be a chance to become a jedi on one of the servers.
Go to the station above Kashyyk and do the Civilian Protection Guild Quests (the woman will guide you through but don't do the duty missions)they'll refer you to the Rebel space station about 10-16km away do the quests for them and then ask for a challenge and do the corvette quest. take out gun 5 by flying below it and then come up behind and disable its engines. Escort it back to the station and you got an Adv X Wing. trust me the vette isnt hard and there is no escort or aggro NPC's.
if you swap you're current character over servers then you forfeit guild membership and if you are planning on doing it then i reccommend taking as much stuff as you can into your inventory. hope this helps , Commander Omothi Lightingfly, Rogue Leader
I became a jedi right before the CU and NGE... then when it was shuffled around I became a low level jedi. Had I been a master tera kasi I could have been at a higher combat level but chose to progress and was rewarded with a level 10 person... I was not willing to start over so I gave up. I wish SOE would revert a pre CU server. I'd come back with or without all my friends :(

SWG has made a comback...there are now 25 servers back up online. Creature Handler/Bio Engineer is back. The Village is back, heroic encounters, new loot, new weapons, new items, new ships, new everything! Keep it! Stay Faithful!

NGE changed the combat system , the lvl system , some graphics , all the quests , all items.
First NGE was shit so a lot of people left the game...but now almost 1year later , every single patch bring a lot of wonderful thing and the game is now like he was before...almost perfect!

Only a moron would make the comment you just made. Paying a monthly figure provides the company with funds to provide servers and bandwidth which cost A LOT of money. It also allows them the capability to use that cash to further develop the game. Guildwars doesn't charge as NCSoft make the cash back on their other games.
The only thing I still don't like about SWG is there's too many jedi for the period they set it in. Luke and Yoda were the only ones alive in the movies at the time, as well as any others who got the message to avoid the temple. but they were in hideing

eh not really, because of the format the game used to have with the skill system and the time line it takes place in it would be very illogical not to have some sort of way of controlling the jedi population also if they didn't include jedi then there would be just a little less content and since jedi are a major part of the star wars movie series it would get kind of stupid not having them in
As for NGE, if any of you Pre-NGE guys out there want to see what they are doing to SWG I suggest you check it out. They've brought back several stuff to SWG, Species traits is coming in the future, they've made mobs so much harder so groups are mandatory even when just trying to kill one of those Pre-CU animals.
Creature Handling is back in the game and counting... there's a lot more old stuff coming back, the dev team are taking notes from players so if you want to get something changed in NGE I suggest you go to the OF and post something.
I used to play Pre-CU and I hated what they did to SWG so take it from an old player when I say the game is changing back to it's old self and it's changing very fast.
sadly they never will :( a bunch of players protested a few weeks back on the SWG OF but no with no results! It's slowly getting better with each patch/chapter that we get though, adding new things and improving on others.
Watching this video always makes me realise how much we lost. Pre-NGE especially, and Pre-CU as well was our greatest time. SOE screwed us all with the NGE. Frankly anyone that likes the NGE is an SOE-fanboi and an idiot.
If you loved SWG and loved the Pre-CU days... join the swg EMU community. They are bringing back SWG to the Pre-CU days and will allow the future content to be directed by the community. SWG pre-NGE was a piece of shyte in many ways. Combat was really lame. Timesinks were sickeningly overabundant. NGE is not great but it's at least more fun and wastes less time.

Its definitley a very well made video,loved the episode 3 spoof, however all of the ground combat, aside from a 1 second part with a TKA, is post-nge... and space has barley changed since JTL was released, so the video really isnt showing what there is to miss with SWG.
Actually if people paid attention to the game recently you'll see that SOE has improved the game since NGE. Plus there will be new revamps to add Creature Handling back to the game (Called Beast Mastery). They've also added many other new things and they will add lots more this whole year, so tbh Pre-CU geeks... learn to adapt. I've had to go through it in more than one game and I don't complain. Still the same game tbh and it's still great. Anyways, great video.

They are asking all the players for advice on what content to add and Beast Mastery, Improved PvE (Harder, meaning groups will be nessesary again), space content and so on will be added the months to come. Also a lot more stuff like new quests, rewards and so on. I swear you'd love it, SOE is actually not crappy for once.

ok basically matey, when u last played, the game was amazing, then there was the "cu" which was the equivalent of a big publish, it was an update called the combat upgrade, all the combat changed quite a bit, like you had to grind certain areas before using certain armour / weapons, overall, the combat stayed similar , so from orgasmic to still pretty fun

Only a moron would make the comment you just made. Paying a monthly figure provides the company with funds to provide servers and bandwidth which cost A LOT of money. It also allows them the capability to use that cash to further develop the game. Guildwars doesn't charge as NCSoft make the cash back on their other games.

The only thing I still don't like about SWG is there's too many jedi for the period they set it in. Luke and Yoda were the only ones alive in the movies at the time, as well as any others who got the message to avoid the temple. but they were in hideing

i could never get into this game for some reason...prolly becuase i tryed playing after the game was destryed....i dont get how working extremly hard for a saber is a good thing tho....wouldnt giving anyone right to be a jedi be more fair?

eh not really, because of the format the game used to have with the skill system and the time line it takes place in it would be very illogical not to have some sort of way of controlling the jedi population also if they didn't include jedi then there would be just a little less content and since jedi are a major part of the star wars movie series it would get kind of stupid not having them in

As for NGE, if any of you Pre-NGE guys out there want to see what they are doing to SWG I suggest you check it out. They've brought back several stuff to SWG, Species traits is coming in the future, they've made mobs so much harder so groups are mandatory even when just trying to kill one of those Pre-CU animals.

Creature Handling is back in the game and counting... there's a lot more old stuff coming back, the dev team are taking notes from players so if you want to get something changed in NGE I suggest you go to the OF and post something.
I used to play Pre-CU and I hated what they did to SWG so take it from an old player when I say the game is changing back to it's old self and it's changing very fast.

sadly they never will :( a bunch of players protested a few weeks back on the SWG OF but no with no results! It's slowly getting better with each patch/chapter that we get though, adding new things and improving on others.

Watching this video always makes me realise how much we lost. Pre-NGE especially, and Pre-CU as well was our greatest time. SOE screwed us all with the NGE. Frankly anyone that likes the NGE is an SOE-fanboi and an idiot.

If you loved SWG and loved the Pre-CU days... join the swg EMU community. They are bringing back SWG to the Pre-CU days and will allow the future content to be directed by the community. SWG pre-NGE was a piece of shyte in many ways. Combat was really lame. Timesinks were sickeningly overabundant. NGE is not great but it's at least more fun and wastes less time.

Its definitley a very well made video,loved the episode 3 spoof, however all of the ground combat, aside from a 1 second part with a TKA, is post-nge... and space has barley changed since JTL was released, so the video really isnt showing what there is to miss with SWG.

Actually if people paid attention to the game recently you'll see that SOE has improved the game since NGE. Plus there will be new revamps to add Creature Handling back to the game (Called Beast Mastery). They've also added many other new things and they will add lots more this whole year, so tbh Pre-CU geeks... learn to adapt. I've had to go through it in more than one game and I don't complain. Still the same game tbh and it's still great. Anyways, great video.

ROFL... no check the Official SWG forums, they post all that stuff there. They are asking all the players for advice on what content to add and Beast Mastery, Improved PvE (Harder, meaning groups will be nessesary again), space content and so on will be added the months to come. Also a lot more stuff like new quests, rewards and so on. I swear you'd love it, SOE is actually not crappy for once.

SWGEmu FTL!! y? because emu will never succede the requirements 2 download it r mind numbing. i spent 2 days stragiht trying 2 download it. besides when emu is complete it wont have many ppl in it. the original swg will have more. trust me emulators always fail it was nice 2 try but pre nge is gone forever. train yourself to let go young ones

Best video iv seen so far and i feel sorry for those ppl who were on the JP servers. I played precu and cu, and still playing, But im sick and tired of ppl who make bullshit drama of how they quit the game. fuck it, quit thats it..dont have to make a fuckin video were everybody is having a cry party. CU and NGE was an excuse to play other games without feeling guilt.
The game sucks now, but its playable. If u dont like it quit now

then sadly, a while ago the "nge" came out, new game enhancements which sucked. it really was a whole new style of play, all those 40'odd profesions came down to 9 "iconic" profesions, fukin no customizing on the proffs nemore =/ then combat became sshit, duels lasted bout 1 minute instead of 1 hour hehe im sure u remember oh yea, jedi is now a started proffesion which upset a loada elder jedi[new comment]

ok basically matey, when u last played, the game was amazing, then there was the "cu" which was the equivalent of a big publish, it was an update called the combat upgrade, all the combat changed quite a bit, like you had to grind certain areas before using certain armour / weapons, overall, the combat stayed similar , so from orgasmic to still pretty fun
