Thanks a lot! The snare is a Pearl Ian Paice signature model. I really like that drum. Right now I've got an Evans Etched on it. The etched is a head designed to play brushes on, and it works great, but I think it sounds great for cracking a fat backbeat too. The head in the video is a coated ambassador.
Hope to upload some more videos soon. We got some footage of my funk band at tonight's gig. We'll see how it turns out. Stop back in a few weeks. Cheers
The 8, 10,12 and 14 are all fitted with clear emperors on top and ambassadors on bottom. The floor tom has a Pinstripe on top and coated emperor on bottom. The snare - coated ambassador with the basic snareside head.
really good dude!! nice clean drumming, really original and inventive, and an awesome sound! did you use a firepod to record that? if so would you recommend it? is cubase relatively easy to use? sorry for the barrage of questions :P
I really appreciate the input OTDrummer! As for your questions it's no problem at all I Love talking shop. Yep its the Firepod into Cubase nothing in between. Cubase seems intuitive enough although I have nothing to compare it to since it's all I have ever used. The firepod is really great for drummers I think considering the price. It has adequate pres and can be daisy chained should you need more than 8 channels. My computer is a 10 year old POS so the firepod seems quite efficient
really is beautiful playing man, you done perfect ;D

That's top class, upper-deck kind of playing.
But the repetitive earth ride crashing makes my head hurt.
