Read somewhere YEARS ago that there is a deleated scene from the Japanese Origional where it implies that the O2 destroyer was initially being developed with German scientists during the war as a secret weapon to thwart allied amphibious opperations. Not sure if its true... but it does make sense.

Don't forget, Godzilla was already alive when the atomic bomb was dropped on the island where he came from. He was given the power to breathe fire and change from time to time.

There is one thing I always wondered about the American verson, why didn't they reshoot the scene where they confront Dr. Sharazawa to include Steve Martin, or have Sharazawa and Martin meet on the ship prior to planting the Oxygen Destroyer, it's referenced through out the entire movie that they were friends but they don't share any screen time

@ROOKI3LINKX its funny because, in the 1970s Marvel had made a series of comics(25, I have them all) staring Godzilla tearing up american cities, He fought Shield(they lost) The Avengers(they lost) The Champions(they lost) Devil Dino and CaveBoy(they teamed up to fight an evil caveman) The Fantastic Four, Red Ronin, and several made up monsters....it was pretty cheesy, but it was fun.

Word of advice Trailer Makers, if it's suppose "the Thing" is suppose to be Mothra and it was suppose to be secret, then DON'T put stockfootage of the movie Mothra in the freaking trailer

Raids Again wasn't suppose to be a Godzilla movie here in the States, the filmmakers intended to cut everything except the footage of the monsters, and reshoot the movie with an American cast and call it the Volcano Monsters but the distributer went bankrupt and they decided to change the name to Gigantis in the hopes that we would believe it was a different monster. The DVD I have restores the title but doesn't change the dubbing so yeah Godzilla is still Gigantis on DVD

So what do you all think Godzilla's orgin in the upcoming reboot will be, given that Nuclear Bombs don't induce the same kind of fear as they did in 1954? A Genetic Experiment gone arry, or how about Pollution or Solar Radiation??? or better yet how about a supernatural orgiin for Godzillia???

Too bad not all the classic media dvds had the trailers even though they said they would, and of course the others on dvd are all plain dvds dam sony at least the toho collection came with both US and Japanese they listened LOL
