@Energi2DmaxX - yep. In an easy to make recipe like this for the home cook it's the easiest option. Otherwise, you should make a mornay sause as a substitute.
I livei na country that doesn't seel Velveeta and I spent a little while trying to look up what kind of cheese it is only to be told by a number of sources that it technically isn't a cheese at all. Could you think of anything off the top of your head that could possibly be used as a substitute?
@Freaqueh melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in equal ammount of flour, stir, slowly add milk while stirring and then melt cheddar, I found that when I googled how to replace velveeta. Hope that helps!
tried your macaronie receipe and the family loved it and i did a little twist with the crust put some cheez-it crackeer through the food and mixed it with some shredded chedder and it came out great
omg this looks amazing! I am definitely going to try this. Two questions: (1) Do I have to put the cayenne in (I don't like hot/spicy food)?, and, (2) In the past, with other mac & cheese recipes, it came out a bit grainy - what do you think it was? Thanks :)
You are a GEM for this recipe. I have cooked my mac-n-cheese your way for the last 2 yrs, and everybody raves about my dish. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
What is heavy cream? It may sound silly to u but I guarantee that I'm not the only one that doesn't know the answer to that question. Please be very specific. THANKS!
I wanna put that macaroni & cheese in my pants. OMG that looks delicious. What a genius idea to put Asiago in there...mmm...I will def be trying this :))
Great recipe ! The Asiago will def give it a depth of flavour. Velveeta is avail here in Cda but expensive & not into "product" so will use real cheddar. Its a Macaroni & cheese kind of day here rainy and miserable out. Going to make your Peach Cobbler today too......its a comfort food kind O day ! Thx so much. Your recipes live on !
Wow, here's another one of your recipes I MUST try... and soon because I love mac & cheese. My own recipe is similiar to this on, exceptI've never tried it with the velveeta and asiago cheeses. Thanks once again
great recipes man. i made ur banana pudding and it was absolutely amazing! im about to start the mac n cheese and i cant wait. keep up the great cooking!
Looks good! I'm going to try this one. I have tried so many recipes for this and they all are too dry. This one looks like it will be moist and creamy.
Next to your Au Gratin potatoes receipe (also on You Tube), I would have to say this one is right up there at the top - My tailgate buddies beg me to make this for all of our game outings - Just Awesome!
Anyway, Scott thanks again and keep those crazy-good recipes coming!
I'm about to faint. Seriously this looks so delicious. I always swear by my mom's recipe, but after viewing this video I think I'm going to have change my opinion. Although I haven't tried it yet, I can already tell this is going to be a huge winner. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
Also your videos are very well made so that we can really see the steps. I'm a new FFL (Fan for Life) hehe.
Made this for the first time today. This is VERY GOOD. I made it using 4 eggs instead of 6 to cut down some of the cholesterol. I also put the Velveeta cubes into a saucepan on low heat to melt. Next time I think I will melt the Velveeta along with the butter. Thanks for sharing the recipe with us!
After getting rave reviews from the JV football team , I decided to try this recipe on my picky nephews. This has becoming a 'family gathering favorite'!!! I modified the recipe for the kraft mac & cheese loving boys. More Velvetta, less extra sharp cheddar and no cayenne pepper. I agree about the egg comment I usually use 4.
I made this last year for Thanksgiving and everyone kept asking me when I was going to make it again. I am finally making it again for our Christmas get together. The family is so looking forward to it. Excellent recipe, thanks for sharing.
I used a tried and true Mac and Cheese recipe at home and in my little cafe for years, and it never failed to get rave reviews...but this on blows it out of the water! 5 starts to you! Thanks/

Yummy. I love mac & cheese. I will be trying this one for sure. Another variation that I love is folding in diced (fully cooked) ham and asparagus cut into 3/4 inch length before cooking.
I am in the UK and used Philadelphia cheese instead of Velveta, and Salad Cheese instead of the 'oceo'whassisname. (Try Asda) It still turned out brilliant.
Your Macaroni and Cheese recipe Looks like best I have seen ( Wow 5 cheeses ) . It has an awesome looking texture !! What would You think about pulling bits of fresh french bread loaf and mixing a small handfull in before You bake it (with another handful over the top for added crunch? Let me know what You Think ,Scott !! This Video was awesome !!
I have been nominated to make the mac and cheese for all of our family functions...This is honestly a delicious dish...like he said you can be creative...and I add the cheeses boy!!! I love it!

Velveeta is a processed cheese product. The little I addded to this recipes melts nicely and helps fill all the noodles. If you do not have Velveeta where you live you can just omit it.

This turned out sooo good, i'm from london and my husband is american. Learning how to prepare this is really gonna make him feel less homesick as this is one of his faves. Great!!!!
This is a wonderful recipe. I did this for a barbecue just the other day. I followed the recipe to a Tee with the exception of the 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper...I actually used a little less...not to much on spicy. The macaroni came out superb. I was getting compliments all that day and the day after. Oh my goodness...it is delicious. I have been told that I will be making the mac and cheese for all the other events that we do. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.
I made your macaroni and cheese and it was wonderful. I family raved over it. They want me to bring it everytime we have a family function. It is Must-Have. Please try it if you love macaroni and cheese!!!
My partner is making this for Christmas dinner at his parents house this year. We will let you know how it turns out. It looks great! Can't wait to try it!
at 5:45 into the video you hear an ambulance in the background or a police car; excellent!! I love that for some reason. Also, this is a great recipe, I tried it and the combinations of all the cheeses makes this truly a triumph recipe. Excellent job, once again Scott.
I will give this recipe a try. I love Mac and cheese. I am just not sure about sharp cheese sometimes it is a bit to strong for me. I may have to tone that part down.
Ohhhh! This one's going in my food playlist! I've never tried that particular blend of cheese (mostly I've used cheddar, sourcream and * would mix up some cheddar with crushed cornflakes for a topping). I'm gonna give your recipe a try! Looks awesome; now I'm hungry!!

I just made this and i thought it was perfect.
my kids asked for one change, no asiago.
the cayenne pepper i was unsure of, yet it was like the secret ingredient that gave this great dish a real "oomph!"
this was eaten the first night and then all the kids reheated and finished this off the next day..and these are kids that do not do leftovers.

My memory sucks, but the next time I'm online, I'm going to write this down and make this mac and cheese. It looks really good.

Pasta is italian, however macaroni and cheese is not.
This is an awesome recipe btw. Tried it and my brothers loved it!

at 5:45 into the video you hear an ambulance in the background or a police car; excellent!! I love that for some reason. Also, this is a great recipe, I tried it and the combinations of all the cheeses makes this truly a triumph recipe. Excellent job, once again Scott.

I made it & I'm not even a huge fan of mac & cheese. My grown son said it was fabulous. It's nicely creamy.
