  • Great video. Im going grocery shopping now!

  • im gonna try it, but i wont be using that many eggs ill use 2 eggs :D i like runny cheeesey mac

  • I'm about to make this recipe once again. It is delicious.

  • I still say ur awsome!!! the asiago is what i was missing. Thanks Scooter.

  • 5 years later still helping people :) thank you

  • Love your recipes thanks !

  • How could anyone dislike this video?! They must be cheese activists.

  • @Energi2DmaxX - yep. In an easy to make recipe like this for the home cook it's the easiest option. Otherwise, you should make a mornay sause as a substitute.

  • One day I will cook this and enjoy it.

  • i watched a few other mac and cheese videos and scott i came back running here!! this is the best version there is!! I can bet my life on this!!

  • OMG this seems like its going to be amazing! I never thought of Asiago!

  • I livei na country that doesn't seel Velveeta and I spent a little while trying to look up what kind of cheese it is only to be told by a number of sources that it technically isn't a cheese at all. Could you think of anything off the top of your head that could possibly be used as a substitute?

  • @Freaqueh melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in equal ammount of flour, stir, slowly add milk while stirring and then melt cheddar, I found that when I googled how to replace velveeta. Hope that helps!

  • Do you own your own restaurant ?

  • what time did you say dinner was? LOL

  • I'm going to be making this tonight. I hope I can find some Asiago cheese at Wal Mart. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Love it. Such a great way to make mac and cheese.

  • @SuperSayjinElite lol yeah if you have that every single day

  • This is the best! I made this a few months ago and then forgot the recipe. I had to come back and add it to my favorites.

  • it made me hungry your the best in the kitchen

  • tried your macaronie receipe and the family loved it and i did a little twist with the crust put some cheez-it crackeer through the food and mixed it with some shredded chedder and it came out great

  • omg this looks amazing! I am definitely going to try this. Two questions: (1) Do I have to put the cayenne in (I don't like hot/spicy food)?, and, (2) In the past, with other mac & cheese recipes, it came out a bit grainy - what do you think it was? Thanks :)

  • @SuperSayjinElite - it will only make you fat if you allow it to.... everything in moderation :)

  • Scooter, Asiago is hard to come by in my area. Can you suggest another mimic cheese?

  • OK STOPPING BY FOR THE SECOND YEAR OF MAKING YOUR RECIPE FOR MAC AND CHEESE WANT TO SAY THANK YOU AGAIN HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING EVERYONE LOVES THIS

  • You are a GEM for this recipe. I have cooked my mac-n-cheese your way for the last 2 yrs, and everybody raves about my dish. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

  • @Danni30 - THANKS!

  • this is mac n cheese :)

  • I like these videos. :D Your channel is much better than those cooking shows on TV. Genial and also professional.

  • What is heavy cream? It may sound silly to u but I guarantee that I'm not the only one that doesn't know the answer to that question. Please be very specific. THANKS!

  • @divasyle - heavy cream is the cream in your supermarket's dairy section labeled Heavy Cream or Whipping Cream.

  • @divasyle It's the container of cream in the dairy section that says: HEAVY CREAM....

  • I just made this and i thought it was perfect.

my kids asked for one change, no asiago.

the cayenne pepper i was unsure of, yet it was like the secret ingredient that gave this great dish a real "oomph!"

this was eaten the first night and then all the kids reheated and finished this off the next day..and these are kids that do not do leftovers.

  • i just found you, and i adore you!

  • @kila4 - Thanks! I adore you too :) thanks for watching!

  • I may have to put in some overtime to afford 3-4 pounds of cheese but I gotta try this!

  • my mouth is watering right now... i definitely want to try your recipe for mac n cheese.

  • I wanna put that macaroni & cheese in my pants. OMG that looks delicious. What a genius idea to put Asiago in there...mmm...I will def be trying this :))

  • Great recipe ! The Asiago will def give it a depth of flavour. Velveeta is avail here in Cda but expensive & not into "product" so will use real cheddar. Its a Macaroni & cheese kind of day here rainy and miserable out. Going to make your Peach Cobbler today too......its a comfort food kind O day ! Thx so much. Your recipes live on !

  • Wow, here's another one of your recipes I MUST try... and soon because I love mac & cheese. My own recipe is similiar to this on, exceptI've never tried it with the velveeta and asiago cheeses. Thanks once again

  • This is THEE best mac and cheese. It never fails!!

  • shouldn't you cook the pasta before al dente? so that it finishes cooking within the bechamel?

  • what cooking pots do u use?

  • great recipes man. i made ur banana pudding and it was absolutely amazing! im about to start the mac n cheese and i cant wait. keep up the great cooking!

  • Looks good! I'm going to try this one. I have tried so many recipes for this and they all are too dry. This one looks like it will be moist and creamy.

  • The results were great! Added this with the smothered fried chicken. Thanks for the step by step tips.

  • i watch this to get my appetite back sometimes :D

  • Seems like a great recipe, can''t wait to make it.

The problem is I'm European and we do not have Cheddar cheese over her.

Do you have recommendations of what to use instead? Parmesan maybe, Goudse, Pecorino?

Also your videos are very well made so that we can really see the steps. I'm a new FFL (Fan for Life) hehe.

  • Made this for the first time today. This is VERY GOOD. I made it using 4 eggs instead of 6 to cut down some of the cholesterol. I also put the Velveeta cubes into a saucepan on low heat to melt. Next time I think I will melt the Velveeta along with the butter. Thanks for sharing the recipe with us!

  • I made this for lunch yesterday, Its sooo good, I really love this recipe. I

  • After getting rave reviews from the JV football team , I decided to try this recipe on my picky nephews. This has becoming a 'family gathering favorite'!!! I modified the recipe for the kraft mac & cheese loving boys. More Velvetta, less extra sharp cheddar and no cayenne pepper. I agree about the egg comment I usually use 4.

Thanks again for sharing this recipe!!!

  • I made this last year for Thanksgiving and everyone kept asking me when I was going to make it again. I am finally making it again for our Christmas get together. The family is so looking forward to it. Excellent recipe, thanks for sharing.

  • I have used this recipe over a dozen times and it is by far my all time favorite. THANKS!!!

  • mmmm

  • You are very good at explaining each step. I will watch your other videos. One question about the mac & cheese recipe. I have an allergy to eggs. Are they necessary in this dish? Would I need to make any adjustments to the recipe, if the eggs are omitted?

  • Hiya,

Personally i dont think u need the eggs. If u use less if the milk and cream mixture so it isnt as 'soupy' then it should set fine when u cook it in the oven!

    HTH

  • SOUPY? look at the dish he's holden.Looks dry to me.

  • Hello, I made this recipe twice this week. I included the eggs in the first recipe. Since I was in a rush, I forgot to include the eggs and melted butter on my second dish. I noticed a difference, but everyone still loved the macaroni.

  • looks good, its making me hungry.

  • On my way to the store to pick up the ingredients!!! Thanks for FORCING me to break my diet!!!!

  • Hey scott,I have tried several Macaroni and Cheese recipes, they all came very dry.Your recipe is very differant,I will have to try it out,it looks delicious!!

  • I just made mac & cheese - its in the oven now - thought to see other recipees- I made sauce but will definately try this with the eggs next time - I put an onion studded with 2 cloves and a bay leaf in my sauce until done and lots of fresh grated nutmeg - also used velveeta today - I ran out of milk so used 1 large tub of plain yogurt and 1 small tub of sour creme - did the taste test- which led to a bowlful - nummers..can't wait to try the egg method - great video Scott. keep em coming!!

  • Yummy. I love mac & cheese. I will be trying this one for sure. Another variation that I love is folding in diced (fully cooked) ham and asparagus cut into 3/4 inch length before cooking.

    Thanks for the vid!

  • Looks great. Will have to try your recipe. I've always made it by making a sauce. I guess the eggs make it fluffier.

  • hi scott, I tried your version of mac and cheese. Very good. thank you for sharing

  • i trried it and it was AMAZZING!!

  • i see.

  • what is velveta? do we have it in canada

  • yes you can buy velveeta in canada

  • who cares how much weight you gain? all that matters is good food!

  • I am in the UK and used Philadelphia cheese instead of Velveta, and Salad Cheese instead of the 'oceo'whassisname. (Try Asda) It still turned out brilliant.

  • what is the velveeta? What else can it be subtituted ?thanks

  • Velveeta is a processed cheese product. The little I addded to this recipes melts nicely and helps fill all the noodles. If you do not have Velveeta where you live you can just omit it.

  • this may sound dumb but I have never used Heavy cream so I was wondering what it was and where would i find it in the store, and what brands does it go by. I want to use this recipe for thanksgiving.

  • I agree w/ you on the asiago. It's AWESOME!!

  • What a great recipe! Does anyone know if when he refers to 1 lb. of macaroni that he means 1 box (16 oz) or did he actually weigh 1 lb. of macaroni? Thanks!

  • This turned out sooo good, i'm from london and my husband is american. Learning how to prepare this is really gonna make him feel less homesick as this is one of his faves. Great!!!!

  • This is a wonderful recipe. I did this for a barbecue just the other day. I followed the recipe to a Tee with the exception of the 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper...I actually used a little less...not to much on spicy. The macaroni came out superb. I was getting compliments all that day and the day after. Oh my goodness...it is delicious. I have been told that I will be making the mac and cheese for all the other events that we do. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

    the day after. I

  • Pasta is italian, however macaroni and cheese is not.

  • at 5:45 into the video you hear an ambulance in the background or a police car; excellent!! I love that for some reason. Also, this is a great recipe, I tried it and the combinations of all the cheeses makes this truly a triumph recipe. Excellent job, once again Scott.
