2011 Shed Hunting - Day Three, a day of firsts!

I wanna go moose and elk shed hunting sooo bad! :(

@morelster88cocoa Do you have a large number of elk or moose around your area? My home area has a mix of wildlife but the areas to cover is vast and it's a mix of forest, farm land, small sloughs and larger water areas too. What I am trying to say is - It's a lot of area to cover by yourself!! lol

I hope you get to go soon and that you find lots when you do. Still too much snow around here, can't get out just yet.

@crowshootpie ha noo! I live in Ohio so no elk or moose. I wanna go to Montana. Is that a good place to go for elk and moose shed hunting?

@morelster88cocoa I have heard that elk populations are good there but not too sure about moose, you may have to choose your area wisely.

@crowshootpie Thanks! I've researched and found that elk and moose are in the southwest part of Montana.

very nice! if you want to find moose sheds you have to look in a different area than where you would usually find deer sheds. at least thats the way it is where i find them in Maine. the deer winter down low but the moose drop their sheds earlier and winter up on mountains and hill sides. good luck and nice vid!

@cyberpirate88 thanks for the info. My area contains some small hills carved out by the glaciers that covered the area some thousands of years ago. It is farm land next to provincial forest and lots of small lake and sloughs cover the land. I try to cover a lot of area but my days are limited due to work but it is a lot of good exercise in the spring.
