  • so refreshing to see a real set and not CGI.

  • She should've interviewed the demon... I was curious to see what he looked like IRL...

  • I would have given anything to have walked through the sets...

  • i was playing silent hill since i was 9 and now im 11 and still play it!

  • Wow, props to the people who contributed to making the sets! :D

  • thx for share this you rocks :)

  • The sets were easily the best part of the movie.

Props to everyone who made them. (No pun intended)

  • I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT SILENT HILL!! BEST FILM ADAPTATION OF A GAME!!!

Sorry for yelling but i am a huge FAN!!!

  • The environment designer's lips really annoy me when she talks u_u

  • i would love to go onto the silent hill set. And when I'm there, I totally want to go to the alley, the school and hospital. I would froth at the mouth if someone let me into the set

  • I want a park, like Disneyland, but where we can visit a Silent Hill with animated creatures (robots) !! It could be awesome !

  • Centralia, Pennsylvania

  • How this movie didn't win any award for effects, design and sound, I don't know...

  • @smegnose cause there is not Johnny Depp or Angelina Jolie on it....-_-

  • i remember one of the scary part of the movie is when the Creepy Sirene turns on then the walls/environment is changing....gosh that's really scary

  • I would love to go play paintball there. At night. In the dark.

    What is wrong with me?

  • @newmuntyy5 You have too much awesome for a human body.

  • I just hope the sequel will stay more true to the 3rd game than the first movie did with the first game.

  • @FMAfanFMA Well this film was more or less an homage or another Family's story of silent hill. But I can see the next silent hill being very close to SH3.

  • its crazy the amount of work that goes into movies like this

  • Silent hill the movie's my favorite horror film since it was based in one of my favorite video game franchises

  • <3 <3 <3 <3

  • The production designer also did the 1980s remake of "The Fly" so that's already awesome.

  • GOD I LOVE SILENT HILL!!!!

  • this movie is amazingly amazing :D XD ive watched it more then 100 times XD

  • Production cost must have been so expensive! I won't spoil the video for those who haven't seen it but all I can say is it's really really impressive!

  • What r the people called who make the the sets look creepy or old?

  • @marianaandpeter i think there called art directors

  • Love it.... great effects, actors, actresses :P

  • @hoodge95 No. What I do to translate is looking for a dictionary of Latin in Web, I don´t remember the website. Was a long time ago...

  • im annoyed there allways calling it "the Darkness" its annoying because i rember it being Hell

  • we should really give them credit for making a movie like this

  • The woman who plays Dahlia looks alot like Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. . .

  • SOOP'AHSTAAAAAH!

  • @hoodge95

    The meaning of that is:

"Lovely omnipoten god in wich hand is our victory"

  • @Alterego626 Haha, yeah, there was a book in Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 3 that you could read that had it translated.

  • @VampireBaru Really? I don´t remember... umm interesting information thanks

  • Awesome job those guys did...

Gives the movie this unique esthetic quality and atmostphere, which u can find in the games

  • 5:59 ... Jodelle looks so beautiful! :O I love Dark Alessa! xD

  • Silent hill is the best aside from the resident evil series....the movie was great.Did anyone see pyramid head just now? Dude is huge!

  • @KazumaTSB1 Actually, to tell you the truth, Silent Hill is considered better by far than RE. RE drew from many sources of zombie apocalypses and basically congealed it all together with an interesting plot (this is just face, not bashing it!). Silent Hill is a complete, original imagining of the darkness in the minds of humans, and by far more twisted. It pulled from only one or two sources some of the idealogies behind the story, such as Jacob's Ladder, but the rest was original.

  • @my comment to Kazuma

errr, meant to say (this is just fact, not bashing it!). My bad.

  • Sets like these are amazing. It'd be cool if they took the sets from the movie and turned it into a haunted area and let fans walk through it for halloween or something. But then knowing pedestrian people they'd probably try to rip pieces off, vandalize etc...):

  • this is so COOL!!!! I would'ev loved to benn there XD

  • 2 words about the set: CRAZY COOL. i wish i could've been there just to walk around and take pics.

  • they really put a lot of love in the set, and that considering that they easily could have rested on making almost everything CGI since it´s based on a video game. So great!

  • u know that janitor guy in the movie if that monster is in Silent Hill 1 the game i'd be pretty much fucking scared cuz he is able to decay everything he touch :\

  • His name is Colin =]

  • i know :D

  • I'm glad I watched this again, because after hearing what they have to say, I feel a new respect for the film. Apparently this guy felt like mothers should love their children the most, no matter what, huh? XD Splitting Dahlia into two people isn't something I like very much... but otherwise, damn. I get why they changed what they did. And I think it works.

  • This is the perfect set for the Ocean House Hotel for the Vampire: The Masquerade movie! Unfortunately I guess they would have removed or destroyed all of these sets.

  • no. No vampire masquerade movie. LARPs are for LARPs.

  • I aint talkin the paper and pencil game.

  • impressive.

one thing about silent hill that they captured well is the environment. that's what scares me the most about SH; the fact that it feels like a closed off / confined space. there's no where to run. everywhere you turn is just a locked door or an eerie hallway.

  • Man the area design is what i'm really impressed with I can't believe they actually built the church set.

  • God...I would love, love, love to work in a horror film!

  • Fun fact: Silent Hill was based on the mining town also called Silent Hill in Virginia. Supposedly, the townspeople were driven out by evil spirits.

  • actually, it was based on the real town of Centralia, Pennsylvania, where underground coal mines have been burning for about 45 years....and that's the element that can be found in the Silent Hill movie town....

  • This is simply amazing

  • the gaddamn making of is longuer than the damn movie lol

  • who plays the Pearamid head guy?

  • He's called The Red Pyramid *eerie music playing*, haha! His name is Roberto Campanella. He also played the guy with the legs twisted up to his head, named the "Janitor".

  • The guy's name is actually Colin.

  • yup and alessa specifically put him at the toilet cubicle where he raped/hurt her..

  • That is very creepy, but it fis into the universe perfectly. He also did the coreography for he monsters and nurses.

  • boromir!.. hehe

  • that fat woman is a genius!! =D

  • Sean Bean was a good actor but, what kind of name is Sean Bean

  • i think its pronounced shaun ben, but it is kinda weird.

  • I wonder how much the story writers for the game were consulted.

  • I love the set desing

  • thatts a whole fat lotta responsibility -

  • out of curiosity and no offense intended, would you think an actor like heath is a good actor or a bad actor?

  • look! its Sean Bean, the guy who played 006 in 1995's 007 Goldeneye. Long time no see.

  • He was in Lord of the Rings.

  • really? O_O

  • this is exactly what i want to do, can't wait to get there

  • parents who have kids that are attracted to the darkness

  • lets just say im one of those kids..lol..

  • Great movie!!

  • the music at the end...

i think i find darkness like this a little comfortable..it relaxes me...

    no im not a psycho...

it feels familiar...maybe when i was 14 when i was playing this game alone in my room affected my mind...

  • i know the feeling it calms me to..

and it intrigues me in away a real malevolance about it.

  • Haha, I get annoyed by that director who speaks with a French accent... but hey, don't hold it against him. :P I love documentaries like this, it's very very interesting to see how one of my favourite movies was actually made. Thanks fungu for uploading this! ^^

  • I Live In Brantford and It Is Silent Hill. Wasup! lol

  • the movie is great, oh gosh, but its cruel

  • i got nightmares from the game just from the monsters *shudders* and i have watched all games well my friend played i watched but i still got nightmares from it

  • whatch cloud 8745s video it will make you laugh at silent hill

  • i wanna see this movie it looks freking awsom!!!

  • Hopefully they recovered the millions they spent on this movie AND to pay the people... O_O

  • yea it cost them 50 million to make and it grossed almost 100 million

so yea i guess it was pretty successful

  • So how much was Radha paid?

  • that i dnt know sry

  • like 200 bucks lol

  • what happened to cybils head? is she still wearing makeup?

  • when

  • Amazing! All the work they put into this movie is stunning, and the movie really turned out great!

  • haha 1:37 the random half of leg on the ground but its a great movie

  • haha 1:37 the random half of leg on the ground but its a great movie

  • omg! the words to one of the songs i sing in chorus are on the church walls!!!! creepy

  • this film must have cost millions.

  • billions :O!

  • awesome.

  • obviously your a gamer. Thankfully this is a good movie not from a gamers point of view.

  • I'm a gamer and a Silent Hill fan and I enjoyed the movie. I guess it's because I don't keep comparing it to the games because really, the game and the movie are quite different (in terms of interactivity, atmosphere, etc.).

  • Well i know what SH is like played the SH1 demo and about an hour of SH4 and i reckon it is no where near as good as the games if films and games can compare.

  • Dude your dumb it's a movie not created by the people who made the game..no shit it's not going to be totally like the game. this is where you have to enjoy someone else look a pond the game, i love this movie.

  • Watching this makes me appreciate the film ten times more. The dedication to the sets ALONE makes this film rather impressive.

AND TO MAKE THE WITCH LOOK LIKE AN ANCESTOR OF DAHLIA IS FUCKING AMAZING. Holy shit, do they even know how awesome of a plot device that is? lolol

  • Is there a signal to determine when the atmosphere changes from normal stages to the "Rusty" areas like in SH1 the air siren SH3 the valvue monster.

  • There is the sound of an air siren in the movie as well.

  • i know i got the movie about 3 days after.

  • The sets made much of this movie, CGI would not have nearly the details that Silent hill requires.

  • My opinion

Silent Hill-Past has a Dream like feel.

Silent Hill-The fog, it has a confused mysteriosu tone.

Silent Hill-The Present, it gives off a dead, dull scream of pain to me, when I think about it, present Silent Hill seems as though a GIant Dead Body.

Silent Hill-the Darkness, It's just a nightmare that you have to wait to be over.

  • I really liked Silent Hill, its one of the closest to the actual game, compared to other games to movies that dont live up to the expectations or story, this one was good in my opinion..

  • i am surprised by how much of the set they made themselves.

My only problem with the film is it wasnt quite disturbing enough.

  • so funny

  • Silent Hill, I think is a character that has a soul. There are light & dark sides of it. As people who are in the town experience anything or not, the town amplifies it, plays along with whatever's going on with their lives. The best games that potray this so far is Silent Hill 2 & 4. Problems, choices and solutions determines what you face there.

I'm looking forward to the next SH movie. Let's lock a guy in his apartment and bring the town to him. Ha Ha Ha...

  • only they hamilton shot

  • Sadly, the movie simplified the difficult plot of SH, and thus, ruined it.

  • It did NOT RUIN IT damnit!

Stop acting so hardcore and say it ruined it.

It's fine, it's simplified for the norms to understand it.

  • yeah i agree silent hill was not ruined, out of the three ive seen silent hill was dead on! Mario Bros was ruined, Doom was Buffy-fied

  • movie sucks very dark same DOOM cant see noting

  • Well, you should try to watch the original DVD, not the copy you downloaded.

And ever heard of "brightnes settings"?

The movie was very cool imo

  • Doom movie sucked since it didn't hold on to the story nor how the monsters functions.. Well, it did follow the story partially.

This movie however, Silent Hill, rules.

  • anyone know where in toronto they shot this? any pics or anything?

  • that creepy tune when they're talking about how rusty the hospital is. what's the title?

  • why didnt they put the story line of sh2? it's way more exciting...and why doesnt anyone make movies based on the games??? ah well at least they had PH!!

  • i wonder how the armless dude can breath in a suite like that!lol poor dude!

  • he breathed threw a tube out his butt!!

    lol im not kidding

  • HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH THANX MATE!

  • It's shown in Part 4

  • That was amazing! All the stages were creepy but beautiful :O
