I was in IYC Warrenville and got my ass beat by male guards on more than one occasion, not to mention other inappropriate conduct. I was a 125 lb. 16 year old girl...non-violent...I watched girls rot in there for years just because caseworkers were lazy or because they didn't have families with money, or families at all.

I been there its hard in there not just the living conditions jail isnt ment for every criminal even the police officers were saying they were gunna beat my ass just because i stood up for myself in the bull pen while i was waiting to go to court

Some of the Comments here point to the total lack of Education on this matter.These things are not as *easy-to-prove*,nor as *harmless* as some think. Many kids are runaways/neglect- cases/non-criminals.And FYI-Kids DIE of Medical Neglect & Abuse in these *holes*. 95% of Detentions do NOT allow Cameras/Cellphones,ect.In addition they "Reserve The Right To Search You",so you get *caught* w/any Audio-Video Device and you don't see your child.Who would ban Cells/Audio/Pics if they were *honest*???

Come on, you can`t tell me someone from government housing, old house, or any apt. hasn`t lived w/bugs. Lots of body soaps are antibacterial. As for food, only the rich don`t eat leftovers. I generally feel jails of any sort are bad things but these complaints are just petty, childish complaints in my opinion.

Believe me guy I've seen alot worse , take a trip over seas and look at the way jails are run in other countries then come back and look at the Cook County Resort & Hotel LOL maybe thats why some of the countries I was stationed in have 5 times our population but yet less then 1/10th our crime , because you would rather DIE than go to their jails. First of all the government did'nt allow us to bring camera's on the property of the audy home knowing that this would give us to much evidence and intel, Secondly like i told Taz0161, What would you do if it was your child that went without a clean pair of under wear for 17 weeks because the people who are held responsible for your son or daughter had a budget cut and did'nt think clean under wear was needed. So in result your children is catching genital infections ,WHAT WOULD YOU DO!

Again. Where's the proof? I'm defending an entity that may or may not have committed such atrocities, I am just asking for more than just hearsay. I have worked in juvenile justice for more than 10 years and I have seen first-hand how juveniles and their parents try to manipulate the system to get a payday on some lawsuit. If these events are true then the facility deserves to be shut down; however, I just won't take someones word for it.

@reaver73802 Believe me bra, the conditions are probably terrible. I spent the majority of my adolescent life in Illinois juvenile facilities. Though I understand the fact that jail is not supposed to be pleasant, the conditions are sometimes inhumane. The majority of kids incarcerated in IL juvy facilities are mostly from cook county. They call this particular facility the "audi home." I have heard many eyewitness accounts about its conditions.

I dislike blacks, i got in trouble last year and went there to have my case dismissed because first offence.

BUT the BLACKS acted like apes! they wore street clothes ghetto. yelled and were proud of going to juvi, one security guard had to tell them to be quiet a multiple times!!! !15-16 year old kids!!! while their fat (black) mother sat there and laughed along with them!

Im not really racist but before you start saying blacks have it unfair, see how they act in the courtroom.

i was in there in 94. i.m a white boy from the south side and i had to fight alot in that place. dudes were masturbating in the shower. if you get in a fight you stay in your cell for a few days. i remember having to stand in front of the wall if i got in trouble. if you worked that night you got a sandwich which was peanut butter and jelly. that place is probably worse than county where my dumbass has also been.
