Norman J. Warren is top notch! He made a run of shockers in the late 70's on shoe-string budgets and yet they STILL managed to have excellent cinematography and lighting, good quality acting and decent special effects. He deserves more credit. Check out SATAN'S SLAVE, PREY and TERROR- they are superior British Exploitation Cinema.
Run Run Shaw? SIR Run Run Shaw? The man who brought us countless Shaw Brothers martial arts movies also brought us Inseminoid??? No wonder it's not listed in his credits anywhere else.
@raksh9 Yeah, the SAME Run Run Shaw that formed The Ladd Company and brought us BLADE RUNNER!!!! WTF... like Pete Jackson doing Meet the Feebles... then Lord of The Rings. hahaha
I could barely make it through this film some 20 years ago watching it on VHS. But you know what, while the effects are cheezy crap, the story characters and acting are probably better than a lot cheap space/horror films today.
Just saw the US release 'Horror Planet' and loved it. Didn't expect the gore to ramp up as it did. Cheese, yes, but Serious Business cheese. Synth fans will love the soundtrack, at least I did... Looking out for the original release for cross-comparison, can't wait.
Omg, I remember I was stayin at my friends house and we heard about this film and we were only 8 and we wanted to be brave and the alien scene came on, don't think i've ever laughed or been so scared in my life! werd movie!! x x x
It´s cheap but i like nevertheless, and it may ride on the popularity of Alien but it has never been a copy of it. Every zombie movie that came out after Night of the living dead was a copy of that movie was it? Or every slasher in the eighties were copies of Halloween? You can never blame directors to try to cash in on different styles that were popular at a certain era. It can still be a good movie with own elements. Galaxy of terror is more of a copy of Alien if you compare with this one.
I'm not sure why this movie gets such a hard time - it's thirty years ago now since it was made, and times have changed. Judy Geeson is one of Britain's finest actresses. You may hate the 'movie', but some of the acting is pretty good! There's a lot of 'crap' out there these days - despite it being 2009!
The movie was in fact made in 1980 - and as in just 11 weeks' time we will be in 2010; I think we can safely say that this movie is 30 years old! ; - )
I originally saw this when it was released at the movie theaters, but in the US is was under an alternate title, which was called Horror Planet. Insemoid sounds a little better than Horror Planet.
A pregnant woman apparently fainted during a screening of this film, which led to pickets at cinemas by feminist groups. As for the film itself, it's not bad for a 1980s B-movie made on a penny-scraping budget...honestly! Maybe it's just a "British nostalgia" thing, but I like it. The alien's jiz, by the way, resembles meatballs floating in pea soup.
I saw this movie. I felt as if the plot was so ridiculous. Why does a pregnant mother bump off the crew members instead having an alien do it? Really, that movie took the piss!
"LOL" Yeah! "It was definitely a very "low budget" movie and i could probally do better with a cheap camcorder; "But" It's still very classic goofiness! "It's hard to imagine i took this shit so serious as a kid! lol
I honestly have no idea why people hate this movie so much. Inseminoid is dripping with atmosphere, has a really creepy synth soundtrack, awesome creature FX, evenly paced, fairly gory, and sleazy as fuck. So what's not to love?
"I'm also Ronnie The Forgotten Martyr "and" I never said i hated this movie 'or" any movies of this type of "B Rating" Hell" Galaxy Of Terror is one of most favorites of all time!
good TRAILER, bad MOVIE :P...its got some cool creature FX by veteran NICK MALEY, which after this he made the make-up/creature fx on other films such as "KRULL" and "LIFEFORCE".

this film had a good pace from beginning to end there wasnt a dull moment
unlike most of those horrible 80s flix that would start slow end fast

Inseminoid is a masterpiece compared to most B-Movies these days.
now what would you chose: Snakes on a train, Transmorphers and Aliens vs Hunters or Inseminoid?
