I listen to Colin's show. He has some good points of view. But on this, I disagree with him. Stress is very broad and affects most people, if not all people. It's not just about your job but the baggage you bring with you from your personal life.
Colin forgot to mention that Ricky is being paid millions to perform at a very high level in front of millions of fans. Each day can be your day to lose your job.
And for these athletes, despite the college degree some of them have...their entire life most likely was spent working to perfect this job. Factor in the physical punishment (which affects your mental status) that you go through each day in the NFL. I'm not even sure if there is an uninjured NFL starter that plays... minor or not...they still play through the pain. This isn't tag football or Playstation.
Colin, if he wants to knock Ricky for what he does, can easily be knocked for what he does. He gets a BIG paycheck to sit on his ass and talk on the radio about SPORTS...and if I'm not mistaken; he drinks alcohol...yet rips on Ricky for smoking "weed." Everybody has some means to cope with life. And it's not like your past goes away until you stop, relax, and figure out how to make things better. That's what Ricky ended up doing.

Ricky works harder than anyone else on the Dolphins in practice, and every one of his teammates will back that up. And to say that professional football isn't stressful? This guy's a moron. Tobacco is obviously very different. And btw, weed can be vaporized into the lungs which means no smoke, no chance of damage. Its just not as convenient as a joint, but just as so with a bong.

I listen to Colin's show. He has some good points of view. But on this, I disagree with him. Stress is very broad and affects most people, if not all people. It's not just about your job but the baggage you bring with you from your personal life.
Colin forgot to mention that Ricky is being paid millions to perform at a very high level in front of millions of fans. Each day can be your day to lose your job.

And for these athletes, despite the college degree some of them have...their entire life most likely was spent working to perfect this job. Factor in the physical punishment (which affects your mental status) that you go through each day in the NFL. I'm not even sure if there is an uninjured NFL starter that plays... minor or not...they still play through the pain. This isn't tag football or Playstation.
