i've seen people fire almost as fast with blot action these guys just need to learn how to do it fast enough still wouldn't beat the K31 but it should be faster
This was a joke. It was never meant to actually be a competition. We were originally just going to fire a volley, but then I kept going so they did too.
I'm nearly as fast with the other two as I am with the K31, but I can't fire all three at once (safely).
Yep, I have a '42 Savage No. 4. It definitely has a smooth action, and is very fast. I can put 10 rounds down range in under 10 seconds with one (not very well aimed). I can't say it's faster though. At best they are equal.
@ytykg Keep in mind I am not well trained with my K31 at all lol neither am I too interested in trying... .303 is MUCH easier to find than GP11. Also I'm more of a traditionalist... besides, the Enfield rifle is a part of Canadian history! We made our own lol at Longbranch! I heard they're the highest quality Enfields you can find, but I doubt it would beat an English Lee Enfield :P As proud a Canadian as I am haha
I'm not bashing either rifle. When it comes to bolt actions they are in a class of there own. My Savage was made here in the US, and has a very slick action. Whether or not one is faster than the other really doesn't matter. They are that close.
In the end it comes down to which one you are more familiar with
@NormanMatchem, Never shot a K31 but I would say that my No.4 Mk.1* would fire just as fast. The bolt on the No.4 is silky smooth and requires almost no effort to throw.
One thing that I have not seen anyone mention is that the K31 shooter also kept the rifle butt on his shoulder the entire time. The other two shooters kept taking the rifle off of their shoulders after each shot.
I too have all three rifles. The trigger on the K31 is really something to behold. I find the Mas36 has better sights and mine shoots real straight. But the K31 is the straightest shooter of the three. Though I own a Mosin I am not a fan of their bolt design. A short stubby bolt handle that cooks on opening.

my m44 is a tula. its difficult to cycle the bolt sometimes but it groups a whole lot better than my mas 36, which im currently selling. i dont like the 36, but still i may have just got one that shoots bad. i also have a hex reciever m91/30. it shoots like a dream, i got a vid of me shooting it. i can hit a man sized target every time at 400yds iron sights. but i have had some work done on it

I wasn't offended. I think that K31's are superior to Mosin Nagant rifles. Their actions are much smoother and easier to manipulate quickly. They are also built to be more accurate then most Mosins (except maybe Finn's and Russian snipers). They even carry one more round in their (detachable) magazine.
However they were never used in an actual war like the Mosin's so they never had a true chance to prove their effectiveness in battle.
No I wouldn't say the Mosin sucks...The guys with the M44 and the Mas 36 seemed like real amatures...The guy with the M44 was being a real pussy with the bolt (no offense) but it looked like he was trying to finesse it open.
I guarantee that if you clean all the cosmoline out of the bolt and chamber properly, The Mosin has a ver smooth action and can keep up with the K31.

However, I have to disagree about Mosin bolts being capable of the same speed as a K31. I have Finnish M39's with the slickest Mosin bolts you could find. I've also been using Mosins for longer than I've been using K31's. Mosin bolts can't beat a straight pull action. Enfields are the closest thing to a K31 when it comes to speed.
K31 is a nice action. I have owned both the MAS and Mosin, the MAS is faster. The Lee-Enfield is by far the fastest bolt action out there.
