  • Thats an ACNA member aurora right? Whose is it?

  • BTW, Grand Am GT's have 175 horsepower, not 170. The non-GT Grand Ams with the 3400 V6 have 170, though. The difference is made primarily with tweaking in the intakes of the GTs.

  • Wow that is depressing

  • ehhh not if you really think about it. 170 HP VS. 250, the weight is the biggest factor here. Unfortunately this same aurora owned my ass on the track.

  • I totally agree. The Grand Ams are pretty light cars compared to the Aurora. Couple that with the decent grunt of a 3400 and it's no wonder that the GT had a good launch on the Aurora. Thing is, those Northstars (4.0/4.6) engines are all top-end power and don't start to really pull until they hit the higher revs. I drive an '01 Seville SLS and I can say from experience that I HATE racing from a dig because it really hurts the outcome. These cars like roll-racing.

  • I was gaining on the Grand AM at the end, if we wouldn't have stopped then I would have him. I had him at the track that night and on the highway from a roll.

  • it seemed like every aurora I came across at the track I all had at the jump. Like this video shows, the GA GT can hold its own well into the end of first gear. Unfortunately at the track the auroras top end power just completely owns. But for short little bursts the GA GT is plenty competition.

  • wtf?
