A searing film with an outstanding psychological mystery acted by Isabelle Huppert.I was 13 when I saw this and just beginning to find out how difficult it is to understand girls.But Pomme is of a different order: so alluring yet so lonely,so shy,reserved and ultimately unknowable.I'm reminded of EM Forster's 'only connect' .Connecting with Pomme was nigh on impossible.So much emotion is represented by showing how difficult it is to connect - are we each all alone in the universe?Heartbreaking
Isabelle Huppert should have won best actress at Cannes for this, though she did go on to win a at least a couple of times in the future. This film is superb.
@moviestud101 I agree, this film is beautiful, and yet so sad... by the way I envy you when you say "everytime I see it"... cause I don't know how to get the film, it's not on the French market anymore... where can I buy it?? Thanks for answers!
