they missed the whole ending of this movie. sturgess worked together with fishburne and caught spaceys character at the end of the movie. spacey was the less obvious but ultimate villain of the movie.

my family talked me into seeing this movie, considering im the movie buff of the family. based off the trailers, i thought it would blow and went in with little expectations. right from the beginning of the film, i got hooked to the story, got a few laughs in, and thought it was cool. it wasnt great, but it kept me entertained for two hours. I'm just trying to raise awareness that the movie industry is still giving lead roles to white people in order to appeal more to the general audience. @adhdboy699 The movie industry has to appeal to the general audience. Back then, that "general" audience was white. lol Hell, they had white actors play blacks and asians. It's a mix of racism and just politics that still lingers today. Over time it's getting better, but there is still plenty of typecasting and stereotyping. It's not theres a lack of good asian actors, it's the lack of opportunities that give Asians the chance to showoff their acting skills. Im not anti-white, just pro-variety.

For example, if they were to do a movie of Michael Jordon, but made him Asian because the movie industry was afraid of offending people with stereotypes, then the movie would lose its true intention. Tricky subject for sure tho. Btw, Im asian and i suck at math haha

The perspective on which one sees the motives behind the cast selection is subjective. And I agree, that ethnicity should not determine the degree of how well an actor/actress performs, but IF a character is portrayed differently based on the premise that race would affect profits margins, than I have a problem.

I read the book and I think the scene where Micky Rosa is angry at Jeff Ma(Ben Campbell) happens because of a negative fluctuation. He plays 10 hands worth $10,000 each when the count is high and loses all of those hands.

I really liked this movie, deffinately should see it on the big screen to catch the whole effect, this review didn't make it seem as strong as it really is, spacey and sturgess were both great, and some of the supporting actors were as well, the rest of the MIT team deffinately played the part, i'd give it 4 stars.

The articles I read suggested that they were never really 'busted' as counting cards is legal, and that the winning streak ended as they were banned from all of the casinos, and as a team, the streak ended (individuals still traveled out of the country to gamble at casinos, however,).
