@MrNocre : It's only ONE environment for Linux ;) ! But I have to admit, for something that new, it's pretty good.
Still, take a look at Plasma Active (the KDE alternative for Tablets and Smartphone) : development has just begun but it seems something stable should be available soon, it's a matter of mounths. It'll be incredibly awesome.
Don't think I'm trolling, E17 > KDE in many many ways... but on those kind of devices, I guess E17 will need more time before releasing the awesomeness.
@MrNocre It's not what linux looks like. Linux can look like almost anything you want (if you have the time and patience to configure it). That's the beauty of linux.
@undrwateranarchy That is illume up there, the default home screen is just traded out for the ELFE launcher. The default illume home is a lot less configurable/sleek looking so only made sense to use ELFE instead :)
Okay, I was just wondering. Being as young as me, I obviously have to get used to the fact that open source software is able to change with the way the user wants it. That's one thing I truly like about open source software: It is what you make of it. I may only be 17.9, but unlike most others my age FOSS is probably the best thing I have ever used. And I continue to use it, even if some of the FOSS that I use is from Google. But in general, do whatever floats your boat.
@StrawnK actually you have been able to use widgets on e17 for a long time now. E17 has always been a different way of doing things. Mostly because there is no predetermined structure to the interface for it. Enlightenment is more about take the libraries and available tools and see what you can do with it attitude.
@StrawnK Android is not anywhere near as flexible as Enlightenment. With a couple clicks that E desktop can look like a normal desktop layout simply by changing profile.

Seems nice. Would like to see a tablet based on it, (perhaps have Android app compatibility to help with gaining acceptance?)

Any reason you didn't choose illume over ELFE?

Is it just me, or is the Enlightenment Desktop trying to copy Android?
