This does make a good point. It is important that threats not be taken lightly or brushed off. The loss of personal control, as observed by Josh of his friend, was serious and Josh deserves to live with the results of his decision not to act. With the number of school shootings that have happened, it is impossible to claim ignorance to the seriousness of someone expressing those sorts of thoughts.
Is it the gun that killed the person? or the Person holding the gun?
