It seems a very "evil" religion! Evil=everything makes people free and uncontrolable by the organization which for 1700 years controls the minds of the people -and evetually have completelly control over our lives and wills! Its one thing to speak on the known limitations of man and the world of the living but its completely foolish to speak on the realm of the unknown for even the thoughts, inventions, and many creations that are not here now but will be here tomorrow are made up of the unknown. For all you know dead people are reborn on another planet somehow via invisible energy. @DepressedAnnnie Or better yet, It's proven that the human mind is more powerful than we could imagine, if we knew how to tap into it. That's why some psychics can actually see and converse with these people. Me, personally, I've learned how to see auras, but that's the extent of my "powers". To look at it another way, there is no way to, or at least I can't, imagine being the kind of dead I understand Atheists believe in. Even if your essence just stayed in a dark, silent place for eternity, I can't imagine not having thoughts. I'm open to the idea that this "thing" is chemical or an unrecognized form of energy but even if that's true, the law of conservation of matter and energy still supports the life-after-death theory.
I think it's absurd not to believe in some sort of afterlife. If there is no such thing as a soul then why are you you? Why do you wake up every morning in your bed looking out from your eyes? I understand the possibility if not fact that everything we do is controlled by brain chemistry but if there wasn't something else really frekin important in there, you couldn't SEE the world. "You" would just be a series of bodily functions and reflexes and no matter how complex, you wouldn't be alive.

If you mean the beliefs that Wicca is founded upon, then yes, there's a myriad of Pagan beliefs that have been amalgamated, especially ancient Celtic and Druidic practices. Wicca is so named for being the Craft of the Wise. Don't lets be fluffbunnies.
@thexela1127 I'm afraid that Wicca was founded when ZJ said. The common belief of Western European nomads that you speak of is called PAGANISM. Wicca takes many of its philosophies and beliefs from pre-existing religions, just like Christian did. Wicca is deeply based in many ancient pagan beliefs but that does not make Wicca itself old.

I think I agree with you 100% on Wicca. I don't believe in it all, but I respect them far more than I do the monotheistic religionsfor their open-mindedness and lack of homogeny. I know quite a few Wiccans as it's quite popular where I live and they tend to be good-homoured and kindly people and they even respect my atheism and don't hold a moral superiority over me for it. All in all I like Wicca, and I think I even share a lot of their beliefs (albeit in my own secular way)

I am just beginning to learn about Wicca and its practices , so I am not extremely knowledgeable in this matter, but I found this video to be very fair and clear in the way it portrays Wicca and for that I am very glad.

Nice video. Actually Hinduism and Buddhism have the same flexibility. Tho in Hinduism god is more metaphysical, not gendered. Some don't believe in god at all & there's no magic. Their creation story is eerily close to the big-bang theory. Scientists like Oppenheimer were in awe of their insights. A lot of their science in math are in their scripture. Christianity and Islam are the only ones who believe everyone else will burn in hell or that there is a hell.

@MamaMario13 Yes, Wicca is not homophobic outside the circle, but there are rules inside the circle that strongly suggest the male and female union and co-operation.
I would add though that not all Wiccans see the God and Goddess as existing as actual entities, but may see them as personifications of the masculine and feminine aspects of "the divine".

the only thing that is slightly incorrect is what you called the pentagram. you're right about everything but the name - it's called a pentacle. a pentagram is a reversed pentagram and it's meant for harm. just like how the cross was inverted by satanists, the pentacle was too.

You don't have to be apart of a coven (what about pagan/wiccan kids, they can't) so you self-dedicate yourself (because initation requires a high-priest/priestess).
Us wiccans do have a sacred book/text. It's called the 'Book Of Shadows'. We handwrite it ourselves and pass it down to our children. It contains our dedication to our gods and goddesses and our rituals, rites, spells and religious texts. All of the sabbats of the year (holidays) are written down and so our the esbats (full moon dates) are written down!

@TheJuicyfruitx "Wicca" itself was founded by Gardner in the 1950's. What you are thinking of probably is Paganism, which simply started as something that wasn't Jewish or Christian. "Pagan" in it's original meaning meant "others" or something similar and was used by the Abrahamic religions to frighten others into believing in their god. Today, Paganism can mean a variety of different things, not just Goddess worship. Wicca itself was created to specifically worship the Goddess/Lord/Lady.

It seems a very "evil" religion! Evil=everything makes people free and uncontrolable by the organization which for 1700 years controls the minds of the people -and evetually have completelly control over our lives and wills! This same "organization" claims she serve an all-good divinity who controls everything and says all the time that "everything is all good and evil happens because of human's actions and such it is theirs and ONLY theirs responsibities!

For all you know dead people are reborn on another planet somehow via invisible energy. To me, death is when muscles and organs don't get what they BIOLOGICALLY need to sustain themselves and can no longer be manipulated properly by that "certain something". And by the way, it really pisses me off that no one referenced the Dante Demartino series. No one watches Avatar and that show teaches kids about all that stuff. Now all they watch is Jimmy Neutron. @deathbird1202 I just realized that if there is no alternate dimension where this energy goes, assuming my theory is correct than ghosts are real!!! because that would mean this energy floats around and if it can send electrical impulses to the brain, maybe it can to other things like furniture and if this energy has still retained it's shape enough to be humanesque, then there's a high chance of aggressive behavior! That's why some psychics can actually see and converse with these people. Me, personally, I've learned how to see auras, but that's the extent of my "powers". To look at it another way, there is no way to, or at least I can't, imagine being the kind of dead I understand Atheists believe in. Even if your essence just stayed in a dark, silent place for eternity, I can't imagine not having thoughts. I'm open to the idea that this "thing" is chemical or an unrecognized form of energy but even if that's true, the law of conservation of matter and energy still supports the life-after-death theory.

I think it's absurd not to believe in some sort of afterlife. If there is no such thing as a soul then why are you you? Why do you wake up every morning in your bed looking out from your eyes? I understand the possibility if not fact that everything we do is controlled by brain chemistry but if there wasn't something else really frekin important in there, you couldn't SEE the world. "You" would just be a series of bodily functions and reflexes and no matter how complex, you wouldn't be alive.

@thexela1127 Whoooooa. Calm down. And before you jump on me, I'm Wiccan too. First of all, ZJ is right in that -modern- Wicca was founded by Gerald Gardner. If you mean the beliefs that Wicca is founded upon, then yes, there's a myriad of Pagan beliefs that have been amalgamated, especially ancient Celtic and Druidic practices. Wicca is so named for being the Craft of the Wise. Don't lets be fluffbunnies.

@thexela1127 I'm afraid that Wicca was founded when ZJ said. The common belief of Western European nomads that you speak of is called PAGANISM. Wicca takes many of its philosophies and beliefs from pre-existing religions, just like Christian did. Wicca is deeply based in many ancient pagan beliefs but that does not make Wicca itself old.

I think I agree with you 100% on Wicca. I don't believe in it all, but I respect them far more than I do the monotheistic religionsfor their open-mindedness and lack of homogeny. I know quite a few Wiccans as it's quite popular where I live and they tend to be good-homoured and kindly people and they even respect my atheism and don't hold a moral superiority over me for it. All in all I like Wicca, and I think I even share a lot of their beliefs (albeit in my own secular way)

Nice video. Actually Hinduism and Buddhism have the same flexibility. Tho in Hinduism god is more metaphysical, not gendered. Some don't believe in god at all & there's no magic. Their creation story is eerily close to the big-bang theory. Scientists like Oppenheimer were in awe of their insights. A lot of their science in math are in their scripture. Christianity and Islam are the only ones who believe everyone else will burn in hell or that there is a hell.
Just thought that was interesting.

Two we are suppose to be an example of a good Christian and to be a Christian means to be Christ like. When we do all these things we should be following Paul's lead in the bible he did it with gentleness and finesses. I see it over and over again all over the place this stereo type of the thoughts and actions of supposed Christians like the Catholic Church, Mormons, JW's , West Borrow baptist church, and so on. Us wiccans do have a sacred book/text. It's called the 'Book Of Shadows'. We handwrite it ourselves and pass it down to our children. It contains our dedication to our gods and goddesses and our rituals, rites, spells and religious texts. All of the sabbats of the year (holidays) are written down and so our the esbats (full moon dates) are written down!

Speaking as a Wiccan I have to say that I'm a fan of yours. My best friend, by the way, is an Episcopalian Priest. I agree with damn near everything you say about Wicca. OK. Some of the facts are debatable but; whatever. You obviously did your homework. I appreciate that. Other than that all I have to say is that I like hearing what you have to say and am only disappointed because we'll probably never have a conversation in person.

@TheJuicyfruitx "Wicca" itself was founded by Gardner in the 1950's. What you are thinking of probably is Paganism, which simply started as something that wasn't Jewish or Christian. "Pagan" in it's original meaning meant "others" or something similar and was used by the Abrahamic religions to frighten others into believing in their god. Today, Paganism can mean a variety of different things, not just Goddess worship. Wicca itself was created to specifically worship the Goddess/Lord/Lady.

Although i am not wicca (I am pagan, the mother religion of wicca.) I am glad you cleared up some of the beliefs the pagans and wiccans share. Although i do disagree with what you say as far as karma goes, I do appreciate what you have done.
PS> would you mind doing one on paganism, partially the same but not fully . My atheist friend watches you and has mixed thoughts about paganism.

To comment on your conclution: Allmost all pagan religions are like wicca, like the belifs in different mythologies, like Åsatu (Norse mythology). The fact of the matter is that pagan religions are more flexible and open than most of the monotoistic religions. It realy is good to se someone realy take time to look at paganism and se that it is different from manny other religions. And maybe this will learn some atheist that religion isn not allways a bad thing, not all religions are opressive :)

BTW ZinniaJones, you're video is ingeius. It seems not only did you do your research, but you were able to distinguish between the true, reliable facts about Wicca and the other information that knocks down Wiccans. For that, I am thankful. I love that you said that Wicca is one of the religions that accepts that our way is not the only way. Everybody is free to believe as they wish. =)

Dear Christians: You trying to convince a Wiccan that they are Satanists is just plain silly. I mean seriously, it's a whole matter of your disrespect and hypocricy to other religions. We're wrong because you believe in Christ? Christianity has its points and I respect it as a religion, but some people just can't follow it. Another thing about a lot of Wiccans including myself, is that all paths lead to the same place. If other religions understood that, it would be a more tolerant world.
