  • How many stunner strips do you recommend for a 90 gallon corner tank about 23 inches deep?

  • @my89tube It depends on what your keeping. For a fish only or FOWLR marine tank - two strips would be plenty!

  • Hi, will 1 strip with a reflector along with a 12w PC 50/50 be enough for LPS in a 5 gallon? Please respond so I can place an order.

  • @sworddemon152 Yes, in a 5 gallon along with a PC - it will be plenty of light for LPS corals.

  • Great light, although here and at DrsFosterSmith there is some confusion. You can NOT daisy chain the 24" lights, you need the splitter. Along with the power source, these prices start to climb.

That said, such a small light with this brightness and no heat... pretty cool.

  • Hi I just purchased a 29g JbJ Intermediate LED. I'm using the stock LEDs. I would like to keep sps lps and clams. What Stunner LED or Panaorma would you recommend me adding assuming I need to upgrade or not. Thank you.

  • @mikeyb19100 If you just add a Panorama Pro Module in the 12K white/blue combination - you'll be able to keep corals in the tank with no problem!

  • Will any of the led strips help the growth of corals thanks

  • @MyBobbob12 Depending on configuration and the number of Stunners used, the Stunner can support a wide variety of animal life. However, we recommend using the Stunner LED for accenting the colors of coral and using it to supplement other lights. Check out our website for other FAQs on Stunner Strips or other lights.

  • are u going to make a 72 inch?

  • @Phantomg23 HI, I don't think we will make a 72" unit, they would be too difficult to ship.

  • Can I attach this to my JBJ 28 gal nano cube with CP lighting? And does this have any special features like thunder effects or dimmable features?

    PLS reply! Thanks.

  • @saltyreef10 Hi - sure, you can attach this to your nano-cube, many hobbyists already do this. The Stunners are compatible with most controllers on the market - so you can have the dimmable effects and thunderstorm feature.

  • what for a 10 gallon tank (just square) prefarably all led. want coarl in future curentley two maron clowns and two blue damsels

  • @josh3096 On a 10 gallon tank, you could simply start with one of our 8K/453nm Stunner strips. When you want to add corals - just add an additional 453nm Blue LED Stunner strip and it will work great!

  • Hi, I have a 29 Gallon Salt (30"L x 18"H x12"W) I also have a 130 Watt Power Compact with 50/50 bulbs in it. I want to get rid of it though because it produces too much heat. Which strips would you recommend for me and how many. I don't know if it is possible, but could I have a combination of the LED Strips and have a 14,000K Metal Halide Effect? Thanks

  • stylophora pistillata ,pocillopora,5 dif species of zoanthids, brain coral. and some fish

  • @shanemullarkey If you used a combination of our 453nm Blue LED strips and 8,000K White strips - it would work great with your corals. We will be launching our new 48" LED Stunner strips in 2 weeks - using 4 of these strips over your tank would be plenty of light!

  • @ecoxotic1 ur coming out with 48 inch strips!!??

  • @Phantomg23 Yep, check back on our website within the next 2 weeks!

  • @Phantomg23 Yep, check back on our website within the next 2 weeks!

  • how many would you recomend on a 55 gal. reef tank

  • @shanemullarkey Hi - if you can let us know what type of animals your keeping in your 55 gallon tank, we will be happy to recommend some strips for you!

  • hey i have a 4 ft tank and wanted to put more leds on my compact flourescents......i was thinking about putting two 453nm Blue somewhere on there with reflectors.....will that give the nice blue tint when the daylights are on (2 actinic and 2 10,000k bulbs) i really like these very affordable....also i was going to leave these on all the time and use them as moon lights.....would that be too bright for moon lights thanks and very impressive

  • Hi @Phantomg23 - Yep, as long as you use them with reflectors, you'll get a great shimmer effect. Most hobbyists do leave them on 24 hrs/day - they make a great supplement light and moon light!

  • I have a 34 gallon salona with a outer orbit light. 150 hqi and 2x65 watt pc. I want to get more of a "pop" on my Corals. What do you suggest?

  • @rick4him Hi, if you add just one Panorama Module in 453nm Blue - you'll see a tremendous "pop" in color and growth, specially on a Solana Aquarium!

  • @ecoxotic1 Hmmm..I was wanting to just add a stunner strip. It's not really worth it to me to pay 100 just for "pop"....I'm getting nice color and nice growth as it is. I was just thinking about getting it bit more "pop" to it.

I thought these stunner strips were meant for doing what I'm trying to do. Is that not the case? It looks like the one you suggested is more of a dyi install vs the stunner where you just stick it on the light I already have. (Outer Orbit)....What is the difference?

  • @rick4him If you already have a 150 watt HQI lamp and 2x65 watt Actinics, you are going to need a lot of "punch" to get the "pop" your looking for. Although the Stunners are very powerful, a 6 watt strip of LEDs will not produce a lot of pop against 200+ watts of other lighting - hence why we recommend the Panorama Modules.

  • I have a 34 gallon solana with a outer orbit 1,

  • Hi, I have a 29 gallons and planning to upgrade to LED from you guys but do they come with the instruction to place into the hood of the biocube?

  • @nekerrivera Hi, once you purchase the LED strips, we would be happy to send you a link to some photos and video on the install for your Biocube aquarium. This is a very popular install and has been very successful for many hobbyists!

  • on a nano 12 gallo tank what would you recomend, i want to remove all the old lighting and replace it with yours

  • @e1jefe2002 Hi - we would recommend on a 12 gallon nano using 2-3 of our Stunner LED strips. The 453nm Blue and 8,000K White are very popular, you can start with just two, then add one more later if needed!

  • Hi, I have a 29Gallon saltwater tank. It's only has fish right now, but I want to get coral in the future. I have the Coralife 130 watt light. It has two blue and two white bulbs, yet you can't turn the blue and white on separately. Do you think that the Stunner strip would be good for me for the Dawn/Dusk effect. (453nm Blue)? Also how many would I need?

  • @TheDeltaFlight Hi, If you want to replace your existing light with the Stunner LED strips, we would recommend using two of our 8,000K White and two of our 453nm Blue - all four of them with reflectors. This will give you plenty of light and still offer the dawn/dusk effect your looking for!

  • @ecoxotic1 Hi, I wasn't planning on replacing me main light. I just wanted the lunar light (452nm Blue) for the Dawn/Dusk effect for the coals. This will work, correct?

    Thanks

  • @TheDeltaFlight Yep, it sure will! It should work just fine!

  • Our tanks 48 inch, 55 gallon. We currently have four power compact lights. They make the water very hot and are killing our corals. Plus, we are limited on what we can put into the tank. If we were to convert to the stunner lights and module lights, how many would we need of each?

  • @rgfavors06 Hi, on a 55 gallon tank, you could use either 4 Panorama Modules or 2 Panorama Modules and 4 Stunner LED strips. It will provide plenty of light for your corals and you'll have absolutely no heat input!

  • would the stunner work better for a moon light affect or to do a dawn and dusk affect? or would the m panorama single module be better?

  • @Dukeap1 It really depends on the size of your aquarium, however we normally only recommend the Stunner LED strip be used as a moonlight on very large aquariums. They are quite bright for their size, so they would likely work better for you as a dawn/dusk lighting effect.

  • I have 6 blue/white strips if I take out all t8 my existing bulb's and replace them with these 6 strips you think it will do? Will it be good? I have soft and hard corals and fish you can see my videos...

  • @quixtar2021 Hi - great looking corals. Yep, your tank should be just fine without the T8 lamps.

  • i have a redmax 250 how many led stunner strips would i need to light up my tank nicely because i'm looking to remove the t5 - 6 bulbs that they ship the tank with... thanks...

  • @quixtar2021 Hi Quixtar, We are pretty familiar with the Red Sea Max aquariums, usually hobbyists upgrade using the Panorama LED Modules and our Stunner LED Strips. Is your tank set up with hard and soft corals or is it mostly fish?

  • So I added 2 of the 453 blue strips to my 8g biocube along with the PC lights that come stock. Will I be able to get some growth out of these? They had to be mounted diagonally and cover a lot of the actinic blue PC that came stock. Please let me know?!?!

  • @Podonk56 In an 8 gallon Biocube, you'll definitely increase the light output and get some growth from them. They should work fine.

  • I'ma go check it out, but I bet I'll be shocked by price.

  • @sspamer You may also be surprised. Stunner strips are <$50. Quite affordable for their output and energy savings.

  • Great video. I’m curious since I’m new to the led lighting for aquariums. I am adding 2-54w HO T5 to my 55gal aquarium and wondering what would the comparable be in led. I was thinking of doing 4 of the T5's and adding1 of these for the shimmering affect or keeping the 2-t5 and adding the comparable amount in led’s, this would give me the shimmering affect and the lighting I would need. Any advice is appreciated

  • @source82 Using the Panorama Modules would likely give you a better shimmer effect. T5HO lamps are quite powerful and would likely out light the Stunner LED strips. Using high power LED modules such as our Panorama Modules would likely work much better for you.

  • what do you recommend for a 28 gallon nano cube? can it keep clams? polyps? would you recommend stunner strips or the panorama led? what is the diferfence between the two strips? thanks

  • @aquamedian If your keeping clams or SPS corals, you'll want to use the Panorama LED modules. The Stunner strips work very well in a 28 gallon Nanocube for color supplementation and/or moon lights, but the Panorama Modules are much more powerful and will provide the necessary light you will need for strong growth.

  • @ecoxotic1 how many would you recommend?

  • @aquamedian If you use one Panorama Module in 10K/453nm and one Module in all 453nm Blue - it will look fantastic and provide plenty of light for your corals and clams.

  • @ecoxotic1 thanks! but 2 more questions. lol. will it fit in a 28 gallon nano cube hood with the ballast and light taken out? how many stunner's would be sufficient for dawn and dusk?

  • @aquamedian Yes, both units will fit fine in a 28 gallon Nanocube hood. You should not need to remove the ballasts, there is plenty of room. For the dawn to dusk effect, if you use two modules, they are on independent drivers - so two will provide the effect your looking for. If you want to add Stunners - you really only need to add possibly one 453nm Stunner - its a great moonlight and you can run in 24 hours/day as it will also help with color enhancing during the day.

  • Ok, here's one for you. I have an 8gal Oceanic Biocube. Do you have something that will fit it? That would be cool for sure. Here are some measurements: The clear protective cover under the lid is 10 1/2" X 8" (that is if i remove the fans along with the dual compact fluorescent bulbs) or if i remove the clear protective cover, then the measurements for under the lid itself are 11 1/2" X 11 1/2" with some modifications. I'm ready to buy if you've got something?!

  • @Kreed101 It will be a real tight fit, but they should work fine. If you remove the end tabs on the Stunner strip and use the 3M tape or clips we include, the strips measure just under 11.5", so they should work fine. Remember - they are pretty waterproof so you don't need to use your lens.

  • @ecoxotic1 Thanks for the quick response. I just went to my Fish store and "LO and Behold", they had just gotten them in. My only question now is "How many would you recommend for my size tank?" They definitely seem pretty bright!!

  • @Kreed101 On a Biocube 8, you really only need 2-3 strips. Remember to use our reflectors with them - it will increase the efficiency of the LED strip and project double the amount of light into your tank.

  • Hi - in a Biocube 28 we actually recommend using our 453nm Blue Panorama LED module - it will produce the shimmer effect and color your looking for. You can run one module with the lamps - and it will be bright enough with your lamps on. We tested one module, it produced more light than a 36 watt CFL lamp. The Panorama Module includes a power supply, so you will not need to use the one with your Biocube.

  • oh and would the power supply that comes with biocube 29 that supports moonlight LED light work for this LED Stunner strip?

  • hey i have a biocube 29 with just stock PC lighting set. How many strips of LED Stunner light would I need in order to get MH effect? (I really want more rich pink/purple color and shimmering effect)

Also would I run the LED strip by it self? or with the PC light set I have? and would just 1 strip me strong enough to notice the difference?

So what stunner light would I need to produce the rich pink color and shimmering effect?

  • If I run one 453 at night in my 12 gallon nano cube will that be too much?

  • @kris9377 You should be fine running one of these in a nano cube - its a great way to increase the color in your tank and corals.

  • Yes, the Stunner LED strips are waterproof.

  • Water proof?

  • We would recommend using the 453nm Stunner strip for accenting colors. It's extremely popular and works extremely well for color enhancement.

  • hey ecoxotic if im running a 25 gallon saltwater reef aquarium should i order the 8000K/453nm strip? for coral enhancement or would you recommend the 8000K/453nm strip with a supplemental 453nm strip? I just want something that is going to bring our the color of my corals like my metal halide does.

  • Very nice. I am thinking about purchasing the white led strips for my 16 gallon bowfront freshwater tank. I really want to have the shimmer effect. Would one 8000K white led strip be bright enough to be the primary light for my tank? My tank measurements are 20"L x 13"W x 18"H.

  • On a small tank like a bowfront, absolutely. You may want to consider using the 8000K/453nm Blue strip - it will give the water a little bit of bluish tint and add color to your fish.

  • Thanks for the info! I just ordered the 8000K light and I'll post a video of it once I install it on my tank. Thanks again.
