Please, If there is a God, and a heaven, I hope he is sitting at the bar with my mum. Who loved him, and wanted to buy him a drink. "She's been at the gin again!"
His timing was superb! Larry Grayson could make a comedy routine out of , frankly, nothing and have you crying with laughter. Thanks for sharing this clip.
the audience are laughing at him not with him, my friend who happens to be gay ,said the 70s was a nightmare for homosexual people, larry loves to camp it up on stage and i don't think this did the gay community any favours, shame
@ezzer65 i suppose thinking that all gay act like this is ,is rather like saying all `straight` men talk in very deep voices and shout `get `em off` to every passing female
It's interesting to see so openly a homosexual being accepted nationally as far back as the 70's, imo. It's good though, I'm not saying it as a negative thing. Just surprising, or is that just me? Somehow Larry had something that allowed him to transcend the natural homophobia of the time.
There was quite a bit of negativity towards Larry and John Inman from the gay community in the 70's, as they reckoned there weren't gay men like this, but of course there were, and still are!
For my money, both Larry and John did gays a great favour as they were accpeted by the general public, and loved in fact, which is surely better than being a militant and hated?
@DuzAndyKnow Kenneth Williams (and Hugh Paddick - see Julian & Sandy) was 'accepted' in the late 50s & 60s - that being said, he was badly paid considering how famous he was & was never accepted as an actor in roles that didn't involve his signature OTT campness.
Nice to see him again. I always used to sit down with my parents in the 70's and 80's and watch just about everything he was on. All my relatives loved watching him.
Great. He was always hilarious. Thank goodness for technology that still allows us to enjoy his unique talent.

Wei Wei Wong wore exactly the same dress on the Golden Shot clip with Bob Monkhouse in 1975. Check out the secret life of Bob Monkhouse.

The comments written here are a disgrace - penned by homophobes and racists.
