New York will be a lot of fun. In many ways, it's like what you'd see on TV shows like Sesame Street. It's not too hard and there are a lot of tourists, so the systems are designed to be relatively easy.
Ah, there are noises for every single thing that happens! Most of them happen as you take off, climb up, descend and land. The time in between is more like a sort of quiet rushing air noise.
I'd really love to see how someone that has no experience of planes at all finds the whole thing. I've noticed that when I'm in a plane, route or cabin class I'm not familiar with it sometimes throws me a little, so it being the first time for everything would be very strange. Fun though.

There is something very special about visiting another country :) I agree with what you said though, it's strange too that we put ourselves in situations where suddenly everything we are and know doesn't apply and we're in a completely foreign place. I know how you feel with the long hours! I've started having to wake up at 5am for work and then don't finish my sign language classes until 9.30pm, hehe, sleep is very precious to me too now! I'm thrilled you got to see Avatar though - beautiful in 3D ^^

I wish I could make it out to NYC :( If only I still had my part time job I wouldnt hesitate to hop on a bus with a 5 hour trip to see you. Life is so busy now and Ill never forget what you warned me about when you get a job and the time is just taken away. Youll do great though, NYC is great with someone who knows the area.
