Wow there arent many male performers of Bharatnatyam that can actually pull it off and manage to be both elegant and masculine at the same time. Brilliant. :)
te mando un saludo desde acapulco mexico y te comento que me gusta mucho tu video me encanta tu exprecion de tu imagen en la forma que te expresas en la danza nos vemos
i am so proud. being an indian I never accomplished what you have done... great dance, great control but please add more expressions but besides that You are the Greatest!
I just love this! I live in Houston and cannot find anywhere to learn this dance form. Soooo, me and this other guy are teaching ourselves from these videos. Thanks for uploading!
@PrinzAndrew Ok thanks! This is so embarassing, but my friend and I have been mispelling bharatanatyam (we left of three letters) which explains why we could not a school. I'm checking out this list....wish me luck!
There are many amazing female dancers! Have you seen some of the really professional male dancers of this art though? The best of each gender are highly admirable.
Hi, I took your class a couple years ago at the Belly Dancer of the Universe Competition in Long Beach. I love that you have the dance here on You Tube. I remember the story brought tears to my eyes. Can you tell the story again?
the greatest dancer in this style was chandrabanu a malaysian man who lived in melbourne australia. his milarepa was one of the most wonderful experiences. he is sadly not widely known but his work was pure genius.
Thanks for mentioning him. Are there any videos of his performances? I'm a huge fan of the Milarepa story. I didn't know there was a dance drama about him though. I don't consider my Bharata Natyam to be all that polished...certainly my aramendi (deep sitting) is not manifest in this performance (it has been better in other performances!), but, I hope that I always keep my heart in the right place when I dance.
chandra created this piece and geoffery his partner made the most astonishing scenery and costumes. musicians came form india so there was live music. it is such a shame that there is nothing on video.
i am not exaggerating when i say that chandra was one of the most talented dance people i have ever met and his performances were mesmerising. your heart is true and yr perf fluent. ahoj

@6973belly Thanks! My Bharatanatyam could use a lot of improvement, but
my natural medicine studies (Ayurveda and Homeopathy) took precedence,
so, I have not perfected it. Still, it's nice to have your positive comments. ;o)
