I spent 12 years of my life in several Christian schools, and I'm disappointed with its portrayal of them. They are FAR worse than anything even touched upon in this movie. I mean we had pregnancies, bisexuals , underage drinking, gambling, fist fights, bomb threats, and drug busts pretty regularly. The hypocrisy and pretentiousness at a Christian school is overwhelming. I hated every second of Christian schooling.

I love this movie because it just goes all around what all of us deal with it in real life. Teenage pregnancy, gays, affairs, miss popular, etc. It's definitely a movie to relate to.

I don't know why a lot of Christians don't like this movie, it's not as bad as I thought. I've seen way worse! I'm a Christian and I love this movie! I'm nothing like Hilary Faye. I have friends that are Christian and some that aren't. Some are Jewish and Musiim. I don't like forcing my beliefs on anyone. Anyway I don't feel that this movie mocks Christians, it just shows realistic different points of view on religion!

i would of liked the eding a lot more if she had given the baby up for adoption. I mean... I don't know, maybe I just don't get it, but I think it's really stupid to keep a kid if you are a teen. And with the whole Patrick thing, who the Hell wants to stick around with someone you just started dating, had no time to develope feelings for and has a kid? I'm 16 and I just can't believe other teeneagers could be so stupid, even if it is just a movie, to keep a child when they are so young.

this movie is good for christians to watch. yet on the final moral thats given, it falls flat and false. Dont really take the lesson seriously cuz it gives a half answer on a common christian belief.

they're not trying to give you a half answer to christian belief, nor is the moral near flat or false. the moral is to accept those for who they are and not fall into extremism, as said before because life deals with a lot of heavy issues that God or Jesus cannot always answer or provides clear answers for in current society.

The movie starts with an interesting supposition but continues throughout patronizing christians that are apparently all apparently well meaning yet ignorant, misguided people. By the end it displays a reality that attempts to supercede God, which is ok but insulting to the open minded christian.

yeah, i don't see it that way because you're only describing one person, that girl who i forgot her name, ha. patrick fugit's character was christian yet he's never placed as this ignorant, misguided person, so you can't say they're trying to pigeon hole a group of people. and even after that, that's not the theme nor the thesis of the movie.

While i will concede that there is a saving grace for fair opposition within the movie with his character, but this grace seems to be his willingness to toss his beliefs, not a showing of love enabled by them. Themes and theses are fine to be controversial, they are openly thrown into debate within the context of the movie. Its what is assumed to be fact within the movie that i am rebuking. This assumption is the formerly mentioned reality.

i did not liked the movie. the message is that everyone can live in sin and we because we are sinful can justify the sin for exp. the gay guy. this is not true in Christianity. yes God loves us but because He loves us He doesn`t want us to live in our sin but He want us to change.
