Also interesting is that her other teacher Ernest Hutcheson made one of the eariest recordings of Alkan, his Op.76 no.3 on a 1923 duo-art piano roll, and also gave the composer Gershwin a refuge at the Chautauqua Institute to compose his Concerto in F (my info source: Gibbons concert program note 1995). This is the first time I have heard a piano transcription of this popular work - interesting! Also interesting for me is the fact that she studied with Alkan's son :)
