  • Also interesting is that her other teacher Ernest Hutcheson made one of the eariest recordings of Alkan, his Op.76 no.3 on a 1923 duo-art piano roll, and also gave the composer Gershwin a refuge at the Chautauqua Institute to compose his Concerto in F (my info source: Gibbons concert program note 1995).
