If you're interested in learning the proper technique I recommend googling "AC 43.13-1b, Chapter 7; Section 7. This is the standard the FAA expects all Aviation Mechanics to practice on aircraft, and every single bolt on the aircraft has to be "inspected" to meet these standards. It may not all make sense at first but the more you practice it the more naturally it will come.
This video was A+ up until the actual safety wiring. As someone in the Aviation industry I have to tell you that safety wire was horrendous. If you freeze frame at 9:26 you can see a number of issues: The loop at bolt 2 is not secured against the bolt, the wire is looping around entire head (it should only enter and leave once), the axle needs .041 wire, you can see other safeties around the plastics that have obvious slack which completely negates the whole process.
Excellent, excellent job! I use 1/16" cobalt bits. +1 on buying handfuls of bits. I usually get 2 to 3 bolts for one bit. Lowes also sells cutting oil that works well with drilling too. WSMC has us safety wire the oil gallery plugs and hose clamps as well.
